Nice one Danilo! Love the Rain Lake access; there are a lot of places you can go from there. As usual your enthusiasm is contagious! Can't wait till /my/ next trip. thank you!
Thanks! I definitely have Rain Lake on my list of places to go back to. I have a few routes already mapped out that I’d like to explore; and also wouldn’t mind doing that section of the Western Highlands backpacking trail. Cheers!
Great content as usual brother, can’t wait until winters over. Plan to take Blue Thunder on some new adventures. Happy New year ,and may it be filled with new and epic adventures.🛶⛺️
Nice little quick trip / video. Glad to see you 4 had a couple Agawa saws, one of my favorite pieces of kit for backcountry camping. Season is over now, but looking forward to the new year! Any trips planned yet? BTW, if you didn't hear, Jeff from Maps by Jeff has a brand new set of Algonquin maps out - they are amazing and worth you picking up for your future trips in the park. Cheers, Danilo!
Ha! I gifted myself a set of Jeff’s Maps for Xmas! He does amazing work indeed, and since the new maps are tear-resistant, I feel like I’ll be able to passing it on to my little guy one day… I’m hoping to pull off at least one winter backpacking trip between now and May. I want to give it a shot with the hammock setup…I think Queen Elizabeth II Wildlands is calling me! 😁
You need a permit for park use, so if you’re just joy-riding to the access point, to turn around and head out, I suppose you don’t need a permit. But if you’re planning to park and go for a paddle or hike (Rain Lake is also an access point to the Western Uplands trail), that’s when the permit kicks in. My interpretation…better check with the park office to be sure.
@@danilointhewoods Excellent. Absolutely no problem getting a permit. Definitely doing this is the spring time. Got myself a canoe but didn't use it yet.
@@useryggfdcc I’m definitely going back there! This was a fun trip, but there’s still a lot to be explored since we didn’t move around. Enjoy the new canoe!

Happy New Year! Where’s Blue Thunder heading to in 2024?! 😁
Happy New Year to you and Stephanie! Been wondering where you’ve been! Nice trip and great campsite! Always fun when a Danilo video drops! Take care!
Happy New Year! Fun little trip before the season cools off… 😁

A week ago I took the same road up to the Algonquin sign.
Turned around there😢.
Can we go on further or need to get a permit first?
