Other than making me sad, reading most of these comments really makes me think that Blackmore was right in his decision to stop playing this sort of music a while back. Some of these "fans" I see posting here sound utterly ungrateful to me. Before recent years this same so-called fanbase was moaning that he should "come back" and play the Rainbow and Purple songs. Now that he has done that the moaning has switched to "doesn't sound right", "the tempo is slow", "where is Turner, where is Dio, where is this, where is that". It befuddles me to believe that such simple-minded individuals can exist, ones that even allowed the possibility for Blackmore to just come back 30 years later, at age 73, and play the same old songs the same old way, as if it's 1978 again and we will all ride off to the sunset together holding hands. Those days are gone, friends and are never coming back. Ritchie is old, and so are most of you, I'm assuming. At age 73 many of these same "music experts" wouldn't be able to wipe themselves, let alone play a guitar. If you can't respect what Blackmore does and is right now or at least what he was when you apparently liked him, you were never fans of his music, but rather just parasites. I've talked to many true Blackmore fans throughout the years and they all tend to be pretty special people who can appreciate not only Ritchie the guitar player, but the person as well. True Blackmore fans like his pre-Purple stuff, and his Renaissance works. They like his interviews and his weird views on religion, the occult and life in general. But I digress. The sad fact is that, alas, most people nowadays just can't let the past go it seems. To them it doesn't "sound right". "This isn't my Rainbow". Honestly, if you can't appreciate the fact that in 2018, in 20-fucking-18, you could still go out, buy a ticket and listen to your favorite musician LIVE, then you don't deserve to call yourself a Blackmore fan, neither were you ever one. You should go someplace else and yes, you are and always were parasites. And as for parasites - there's quite a lot of them and let me tell you - there's nothing special about being a parasite.
Ivaylo .Zhekov God, how I agree with you. I was loving to watch my idol playing when I decided to look at the comments, and I was completly surprised by people's bad reactions to this concert. Good to see some good Blackmore fans out here. You made my day!

I am with you. How many of Ritchie's Peers has the guts to come back and play just for us fans. Ritchie at his age is a phenomenal Accustic Guitarist. How many of his peers that has sold millions of Accustic Albums? I appreciate Ritchie for giving it a shot. Now he is 76 and I have a hard time standing for a hour and a half at 60. And Romero is a good singer and covers all the singers of Rainbow. Ritchie gets to pick who he plays with and sings.

I flew from New Jersey to Prague to see the final show of the tour. Hope it’s not the last Rainbow show. It would be heartbreaking. This music got me through my teenage years.

Not a good news now coming from Minsk, Belarus. One of the former Rainbow singers Joe Lynn Turner is in hospital after suffering a heart attack. He is in a stable condition. We all wish him a steady recovery.

Este señor ya esta de vuelta en su vida y lo que hace lo hace por gusto personal, ya dio todo lo que tenia que dar hace mucho, y hay que agradecer que aun anda en un escenario, pronto ya no nos quedaran ídolos así.
Ronnie's delivery on Stargazer is nothing short of spectacular. Specially if you take into account the obvious equipment issues they were facing (microphone seems to be at a low volume, issues with monitors, etc). And I for one, actually liked mr Blackmore's scenic solo scape, it was so evocative. He's no longer the 1000 notes a second youngster, but he sure is the same top quality musician.
True, his voice breaks, yes some notes off here and there, but again an hour in and having already sung Child in Time doing a very believable Stargazer when the band plays slowly (making those acrobatic notes much longer and more noticeable), your mic is off and you can't hear a thing you're doing? Hats off !!!
I actually like this concert and would be glad to see them.

One of the main ingredients that makes hard rock music and heavy metal so special is the incredible high energy that is felt when listening to these styles of music. This is a perfect (sad) example of what happens when old artists still try to perform this high energy music that they created when they were much younger. Last time I saw Ritchie live was about 22 years ago, he was 50 years old but still had it, now he is 72! I respect my elders but seriously Ritchie, HANG IT UP!
Надо отдать должное,что Риччи хоть как то старается нас радовать своим присутствием на сцене в своем уже далеко не молодом возрасте!Мне важно именно его присутствие,живым и счсастливым,со своей Кендинс на бэках !
Ричи лучше бы радовал не присутствием, а новыми песнями, но увы.
Кендинс явно лишняя в этой команде, но боится оставить Ричи. Без него она никто.

Он приехал к тем, кто его уважает, помнит и любит. Был когда то,такой великий боксёр Мухаммед Али, так вот, современные (тоже великие) боксёры, считали за честь, пожать ему руку, сфотографироваться в ним. И никто из них никогда не хотел ему втащить, что бы кому то доказать, что сейчас сильнее него. Так вот, Блеэкмор, такой же великий музыкант, которого любят и будут любить, за всё то, что он сделал. Случайные люди, не поймут. Пусть каждый слушает то, что ему нравится и уважает то, что нравится другим.

well, okay , first of all, Happy Birthday Ritchie, how good it is to hear you with a STRATOCASTER in your hands, second , greetings Russia, from America, with love, heres hoping that the good people of Russia and the good people of America can be good friends and not let our governments screw that up. MUSIC is a good start !..........true , this seems a bit soft at times, it is also pretty damn good at times, the singer has 4 or 5 pairs of HUGE shoes to fill, and by and large he is quite good, great at times, hopefully the band does not feel like they are walking on eggshells, Ritchie plays very well, way better than most 73 year olds ! RAINBOW ! is still GREAT !...........wb

Правило великого артиста: больной - сиди дома. Вышел на сцену - всем плевать, больной ты, косой или кривой - работай на все 100! А это событие - элементарный чёс. И почему так много композиций DP? Раньше он их только на бис играл, но не в основном концерте.
Завидуй молча. Тебе и без артрита, и миллионной толики не дано того, что есть в Блэкморе. Дай бог и мне, в 73, быть в такой форме.
Ребята скоро их не останется и время сотрёт их имена.

Pat Rat There's some truth in what you say, and Mr Blackmore STILL has that tone..
But age is just another factor of course, but then look at Dick Dale. He's insanely fast STILL, and he's pretty up there in age himself.
It`s not about "doing it better" We all love Ritchie and he`s in painful Arthritis here.. It`s about acknowledging that the party is over and not having the capacity of delivering the fire that was once there - I would rather wish Ritchie to retire in dignity with his medieval project Blackmores Night.

2016-м обновленный Rainbow отыграл два концерта в Германии и один - в Англии.......и слепили из этих концертов прекрасный блюрик-который слушается и смотрится на одном дыхании от начала и до конца...(чего нельзя сказать о блюрике The Purple Tour )....жалею, что узнаю о таком грандиозном событии у нас в России П-О-З-Д-Н-О
Ну, там ещё и подсвели в студии нехило концерты, да видео подмонтировали. Всё это немного добавило драйва и стало смотрибельно. Бутлеги сильно отличаются.
Технологии сейчас позволяют устранить любую инструментальную и вокальную лажу, что и было на DVD (наверняка) сделано
По моему, это студийно-концертная запись. А в студии все что угодно можно слепить, благодаря современным технологиям, все огрехи уберутся. Зато на Live записи, с концерта можно оценить на сколько хорош исполнитель. Я бы на вашем месте не трогала Deep Purple.

John Berry I agree, but after long years, is good to see Blackmore live, i love Deep Purple and Rainbow music.
I too have a lot of Purple and Rainbow music and it is fantastic. This show proves that Ritchie isn't really up to going back to heavy rock guitar playing. Maybe he should stick to what he is playing well before too many people get disappointed with his playing.

In my Argentina or in South America we would kill for a show of Ritchie and his rainbow, I see the hateful comments towards how they play the songs and it saddens me. Keep in mind that Blackmore is no longer 20 years old and seeing him perform his classic songs after he said that he would not go back to rock is to feel lucky friends, we are his fans, not his enemies.
Amazing Ritchie is still going strong in his mid 70's. Good Stuff.
