  • Doing a remote diagnostic on this 2008 F250 for a no crank condition. Noted the security light flashing with key on and odometer indicating all dashed lines. Problem turned out to be corroded high speed can bus terminals in C220 by the right A pillar.

    Could the cluster be bad all together would them white wire and the white and blue wire have power on the they run back to over by the steering wheel

    • @PhillipBailey
      @PhillipBailey  Год назад

      The can wires must be tested with a lab scope or at least a voltmeter. They run around 2.7v for the can H and 2.3v for can L. They cannot be tested for power with a test light.

    08 ford f250 mine doing the same thing but its not the plug what power to those wires

      I'm not understanding your question. The instrument cluster is supplied power from two fuses and grounded at the left A pillar. The two can bus wires are biased at 2.5 volts from multiple sources

    i have a 2008 f250 superduty 6.4l and i have short to ground on pin 14 at dlc can bus l and 14 and 6 are open no crank no start dont know were to go with this

    • @PhillipBailey
      @PhillipBailey  Год назад

      If the Can bus is shorted to ground it won't start as you see. You need an OEM schematic for the data lines. Try Alldatadiy.com. There is a connector under the park brake pedal that you can try unplugging while reading the short to ground at the DLC on 6 or 14. it is connector C212.Behind left A pillar trim. If the short is eliminated with that connector unplugged then it is likely in the harness to the ABS or PCM. There is also a connector C215 to the right of the steering column under the dash, if the short goes away with that unplugged the short is in the harness or a module downstream. This eliminates the 4x4 module if you have that, Occupant Classification module, Air Bag Module. Good luck these are fun to chase for sure.

    My truck is an 08 6.4 as well and is doing the same exact thing. It had alot of corroded connections so I took the pax fuse box out cleaned it with alcohol and put it back on. That didn’t solve the problem and im back at square 0. What else can I do/test? Thank you.

    • @PhillipBailey

      You need to start with a network scan of all controllers. Scan the ECM, BCB and Instrument Cluster for codes. If you have no communication with the cluster check fuses. Is your security light blinking when you try to start? No Codes and no blinking security light check basic starter circuit. Hope this helps you.

      @@PhillipBailey ill try the network scan but i don’t think forescan allows me to do it. Fuses are good, cluster was completely dead, all of a sudden I was able to see mileage, trips and reset on the cluster, now is dead again only the air bag light comes on. security light was flashing when the cluster was alive. The code I have is starter circuit disable, pats on and a u code for the cluster not communicating with the PCM.
