They're supposed to be a spring clip on the top and the bottom pin

Recently I found that one of my pins was not installed by the technician. When I inquired he told me it wasn’t ‘necessary’ . Is this true? I have a Lexus is250

You need them or the pins can loosen and fall out. Mine loosened up half way out.
