EDIT 1: As mentioned by @nahuelgodoy5630 - You can also use an Exotic Cipher to upgrade Exotic Gear for a mod slot for +3 of any stat like Artifice armor.

Bro you forgot that we used them to upgrade masterworked exotic gear to get the extra mod slot were you can add +3 to any stat

What as in after u use 3 ascendant shards to already unlock an extra mod u can use a cipher to go beyond that?

I feel like bungie should make these things a little easier to acquire. They should add more of them to the season pass and make them a drop chance in nightfall's and lost sectors.
I have issue getting cyphers. Before I start I have zero cyphers. When I complete quest or reset Xur I don’t get a cypher. I checked postmaster and consumables. Also don’t get one when reset Rahool
Do you have any in vault?
For some reason I can’t find the exotic cipher xenology quest at Xur. I don’t get that second page option similarly to you at 1:27
I’ve only got 1 exotic cipher in my inventory, and checked my quest tab, and don’t already have the xenology quest already.
Am I doing something wrong?
if you finished the quest this week you cannot pick up the quest again until the following week. Might be that.
It could also be in your abandoned quests kiosk, check that you can find it next to the post master at the tower to the left :)
@@Divide21What if you complete the quest and don’t receive a cypher also I reset and don’t get a cypher. And I have zero cyphers
The cipher changes trash the new/returning player experience. Being able to only get 1 cipher weekly in a reliable manner makes getting potentially dozens of exotics for the first time a nightmare. I think the old lost sector system was way better.
I wish someone told me you could use a cipher and exotic engram to make the exotic you want lmao

@@justanothercyberpunk6440 It's been a while since I've looked at what's there so I couldn't give a direct answer. Since Mountaintop and Recluse got un-sunset they are worth it again, but you can actually farm better roles in Onslaught currently though.
Now make a 2024 in the best way to get alloys
I dont get it i just got the dlc packs for the game and i was able to make arround 15 exotic items and now i need exotic cipher and you can only get a couple per week. This is so weird

It's quite simple you can get exotics as they are still good.

If you start at Ikora, he’s in an alcove to the left just before the stairs that lead to the main tower area with Zavala and Shaxx. There’s a golden gate and a blue light with a pink sign above the entrance.

@@Joe_doesnt_know you’re alright, it’s not stupid, bungie’s never been too great at explaining how destiny works. You get them from playing ritual activities, which are the three main activity types(vanguard, gambit, and crucible). If you spend enough strange coins Xur will sell a booster for free that will increase your strange coin gains for a few days.
Also I realized I didn’t answer your question about needing the expansions. You shouldn’t for most things, but I believe dlc exotics are locked behind their respective expansions. But anything from the base game and all of the legendary armor and weapons should be accessible without any expansions as far as I’m aware.
@@Joe_doesnt_know also I recommend following a channel or twitter account or whatever that has weekly Xur updates. He has the chance to carry some really good items sometimes and a couple weeks ago had artifice armor, which is a special type of armor that can have +3 in any stat you chose, which you normally only get from raids
