Finally someone talks about cannon and mags when talking about a god roll. I know sometimes these are negligible in PvE but they are so important with rocket sidearms!
I've been in love with Enhanced Field Prep for this thing because of how it effects special bricks. Normally a special brick gives back about 16 ammo with a scav mod equipped, but with field prep it goes up to 22 ammo per brick with a scav mod and it massively helps out with the ammo economy. I can go for much longer without needing to switch weapons which really helps maintain the aggression.
That sounds way better than lead from gold tbh, imma try it out. Thank you! Edit: I’m stupid, I thought this weapon had LFG but I was thinking about The Call lmao
Exact same here and surprise so many skip passed it. I personally would have loved to see Air Trigger too as it also bumps up reserves but Field Prep is basically the same but crouching. Unless build specific theres really no need to go for a specific 3rd column perk as it's package is strongest due to it being a rocket assisted sidearm, has incandescent, and it's origin trait synergizes with Incan too. For a weapon you might use as more of a primary, Field Prep imo is an easy pick.
THANK YOU for actually going over the barrel and mag options! Everyone I watched said that those two are just whatever you want to make it but I never even knew about the whole ammo increase with backup mag. So based on this guide, the role I’ll craft is linear compensator, high explosive ordnance, enhanced heal clip and incandescent with a velocity masterwork. So that way I will have 50 BR, 70 Velocity, 50 Stability, 40 Handling, and 30 Reload.
high explosive ordinance and linear aren't really gonna be that good on this gun specifically, and you don't need above 50 really in any stat tbh volatile will always be best and if you don't like that then counter mass or confined, With Heal clip you don't need more bullets you want reload speed with flared I have 45 RS and with backup mag on I still have 13 in the mag which is more than enough lol 30 RS is gonna feel awful you could go RS MW too but 30 is just too low for a heal clip gun
I don’t find a high reload speed all that necessary… heal clip is there as utility for an occasional heal when you may need it, most builds have an incredible up time on healing with restoration, devour, or liar’s… so I feel like going all in on a high velocity than a semi high BR will help you kill more things which is what this is being used for mainly, ad clear, not as your penultimate form of healing, heal clip is just a bonus, 30 reload with a solar loader on gloves will be fine enough for that occasional emergency heal that you won’t even care about nor need in 90% of content.
So liner+HEO+velocity mw will give you the best ad clearing capability with 50 BR, 76 V, and 60 bullets in reserves with a solar reserves mod. I never run out of ammo and can efficiently use this as a primary.
I’ve tried most rolls people try advising others to try and found what I use as what I enjoy most and what feels best when it comes to what it’s purpose is, ad clearing, so in the end, whatever feels best to you, not what all these people say, everyone just seems to contradict each other constantly anyways.
@@Ghouloween yes sure normal game content I can see this being a solid point but in end game content you're specifically talking about warlock here. Yes hunter and titan do have ways in pris but its nothing like warlock can do when it comes to resto devour and yeah sure Liars is incredible I absolutely agree with that I main the build and I have all 3 characters maxed its incredible but in GMs master dungeons and master raids sometimes you cannot get in melee range and its just too much dmg/risk and tbh I'm probably gonna be running celestial still hunt in most end game content for dmg or when I solo so at that point yeah that heal clip is my penultimate form of healing, and you don't need more than 50 BR the passive for the gun literally drops mini witherhoard pools and if a unit dies from the radiolaria pool they also get scorched from incan alot of people don't know that lol velocity is just how fast the shot gets to them, yeah you should have a decent amount of it but the bullet will get there not much difference between 40-60 vel tbh not to mention with the new artifact perk and radiolaria perk too you really don't need more blast radius it is by far better to have RS if you're running heal clip, it's about being able to stay in the fight and keeping sustain and you know how seconds matter in certain situations and 30 RS compared to 50 RS felt like I was stuck in the mud, if you exclusively play WL and aren't really doing much master content i'd agree it's fine but other than that 50 has way more value in any other situation with both hunter and titan.
Great video! I have tended to go Quick Launch/Tac Mag for my barrel and magazine on these sidearms. I like the snappier feel of Quick Launch, and if I'm not mistaken, Tac Mag also increases the amount of ammo you receive from picking up Special bricks as well as the increased reserves as you mentioned. With the Heal Clip roll, I feel it's only fitting to juice the Reload stat, so that's my Masterwork. Any other roll, I go for Velocity for more of a hitscan feel.
Beacon Rounds can be annoying at times, mainly when you want to shoot at the ground against enemies with shields (Taken & Cabal Phalanxes) or constructs (Stasis Crystals, Cabal tech packs) since it will automatically home at the center of the closest enemy hitbox.
Definitely... I got annoyed trying to hit a taken close to a pillar the rocket kept tracking it directly hitting the wall even when you aim to the legs or ground
in the salvation edge raid I was unable to use my Indebted Kindness with beacon rounds when I was closing the conduits as it would constantly track to some enemy in front of me
THANK YOU for explaining why Beacon Rounds is actually a sleeper pic, every youtuber always skims past it or writes it off as useless but in reality it's fantastic on these sidearms, it's been my go-to column 3 perk for a while and i love it; you waste less ammo because you just don't miss, ever, it's amazing vs fast or flying enemies, and it allows much faster and more dynamic gameplay because just being pointed roughly towards the target ensures the rocket will find it. It's great.
I heard that with how easy it is to maintain radiant & restoration with prismatic that heal clip wasn’t worth it. Hearing the actual stats for both lets me figure out which is better for my play style. Love how you break everything down and make every seem so much simpler. Thanks Castle!!
X2 Cure and Benevolence spam, with Restoration now being kill based is especially potent for pure Solar builds. Prismatic has extreme ability uptime, but it will for sure be tuned down, and will rely HEAVILY on Exotic class items, other than outlier neutral game ones. They already tuned Osiomancy, so there is more to come. This however, will stay.
@@diontes1480Rocket sidearms will definitely be recieving a girthy nerf. And transcendence probably won't. They'll probably just allow exotic class items to be used on any subclass to allow some variety.
How exactly does Radiant uptime on Prismatic have any bearing on Heal Clip? These effects aren't the same; Radiant is not Restoration. EDIT: Oh. You changed your comment but didn't document it despite it changing the meaning. Nice. Adding in Restoration to your strange comment doesn't really work though considering you have to run a Solar super to get it and it's only Restoration x1 which, while nice, isn't going to stand up to much more than a basic Nightfall by itself. Pretending Heal Clip "isn't worth it" if you have Restoration x1 is silly.
? huh it's not that easy to maintain resto unless you're playing warlock and even then it's really not that easy lol you would be trolling if you crafted anything but heal clip on this (beacon rounds if you can't aim and are bot) and incan is only real viable option in this meta other than GT if you want damage, even on the call GT is best perk by far most ppl sleep on it especially if you're a hunter main like myself and you're using grapple a lot of the time perma 15% buff that resets timer after every kill and then 50% with melee its unmatched compared to anything else on that gun. Smart drift and Linear are actually 2 of the worst options you can have on this gun very odd he suggests these ? it's a rocket sidearm you don't need above 50 really on any stat don't need recoil direction because its meant for clearing ads and you're gonna be spam shooting it into mobs lol This is why volatile is king, and if some crazy reason you don't like having massive explosions and big aoe then counter mass and confined are second best options by far.
I typically maintain devour on my warlock. So I crafted mine with ambitious assassin/incandescent. When it first released, the 2nd one I got was Heal Clip/Incandescent, so I use that one on my other toons.
I recommend Volatile, flared, heal clip, incandencent, and reload mw for very balanced stats. Hits everything hes asking for while having great reload speed for that heal clip. Tac mags a good alt too.
The amount of analysis that goes into figuring out how to game the system in Destiny is insane. They have created an entire industry devoted to helping players get an advantage.
I would just like to say thank you for this video because it also helped me pick the best options for the call I figured since it's a rocket drop the br as low as you can
A pseudo primary with Healclip that chunks, sustains, clears adds, and gives heavy like a primary. Yep, it's absolutely perfect. (I only discovered one single problem with it (recently), the rocket doesn't go thru the cage in the Warlord's Ruin Rathil boss.) I feel bad for all the other perks in Column 3 because the only perk I think is mandatory is Heal clip - can't be understated how much having a weapon do all the heavy lifting on Sustain can unlock your build - suddenly I don't care about Recov, Recuperation or Restoration anymore, freeing me up for more damage. That said, my Omni Hunter is loving my other roll - Strategist/Incandescent. A few seasons back when Trace rifles were the sauce, I remember hating the fact that I had to use them to abuse Double spesh because I never liked Traces. Somehow somebody at Bungie felt the same and designed the rocket sidearms, to whoever that designer was, THANK YOU.
Oh hell yeah! Pugilist + Incandescent! I can use this instead of Zaouli's Bane, which I think I don't have craftable yet. This will be awesome for solar/melee builds!
always go for reload masterwork for pve gun, dont waste arm mod slot just so u can reload a bit faster, tactical mag and reload masterwork is fast enough
I played around with several rolls on The Call and AA before I crafted either, the rolls that had beacon rounds all stacked up kills much faster than the rest.

I might make some BR roll for strategist/pugilist+demo but i just went full reload speed with heal clip incandescent, you dont need the blast radius on that roll, nor mag size, so just max reload speed makes most sense on that
I was on that indepted kindness kick day one of warlords. Picked it up and 2 shot an orange bar and was thinking people were crazy for skipping out and saying the dungeon has bad loot
Still working on getting the red boarders but I got one to drop with heal clip and incandescent and I love it definitely going to craft that combo and enhance when I can.
Why wouldn't you go with Tactical Mag when you run Heal Clip though? The reload is nearly as fast as flared magwell and you have more reservers + bigger mag size. I mean you even showed it in the video ^^
Reload doesn't matter.....huge blast radius.... ambitious assassin(fills the entire magazine with reserves for over 40 rounds with back up mag) and incandescent....you don't need to do anything but hip fire this beast...recoil.doesnt.matter.....reload doesnt matter.....if you don't want a full magazine of reserves.loaded, then heal clip is the way to go.
Hey quick question, do you get more impact damage with a lower blast radius with rocket sidearms like with rocket launchers and grenade launchers, or is that not the case with rocket sidearms? Cos I've crafted The Call with max velocity and min blast radius and if it's not the case I'll change it to 50-60 blast radius, and i'll do the same when I can craft Aberrant Action.
Surprised you didn't suggest Strategist/Pugilist + Demolitionist for the double ability regen, although I guess that is more of a build-centric roll and highly depends on what else you run with it
I’ve been waiting for a legendary void version. I know we have an exotic void but I’ve ran the dungeon 35 times without it dropping. Sadly, it will most likely be last right after a stasis version.
I really like this weapon and the different great rolls you can get and also craft but even with more ammo perks i find myself running out of ammo and it just leaves you hanging when you really need it. I end up going back to my incandescent Luna howl or incandescent heliocentric. It's just not reliable although it's very strong.
Doesn't seem like you mentioned velocity which is also an important perk on rocket sidearms. A lot of the targets I'm shooting at are moving and if your velocity is too low you're going to be missing those moving targets. I crafted mine with a mindset of 80 minimum for velocity. Just something to keep in mind for those who's shots always seems to be landing behind their targets.
Doesn´t Enhanced incandescent only increase the scorchstacks that would´ve been applied IF you would´ve had Ember of Ashes equiped rather then a flat increase?
When rocket pistols inevitably get nerfed, the first thing they will do is cut their ammo count down to a ridiculous ~30 shots. And the damage for 10%. Bungie will do everything to make using them as inconvenient as shotguns and plasma rifles

Question is there a reason why this gun has no range what so ever? But the other rocket sidearms do
Surprised you didn't suggest Strategist/Pugilist + Demolitionist for the double ability regen, although I guess that is more of a build-centric roll and highly depends on what else you run with it
Clear explaination with background play. full build, suggestions. take my sub, like & comment!
Do the magazine stats with backup mag apply to all rocket sidearms aswell or just the solar sidearm
I have a crafted one and a non crafted one both have incandescent while one has becon rounds and the other has healclip
I just want a kinetic one with osmosis, and a void one. Mostly kinetic
If you use Heal clip you Don't need a bigger Magazine cause you will be reloading constantly anyway
I use puglist + incandesent on my prismatic titan and my melee concecration ability regen is hella fast so i can spam with it
It's not going to replace my Indebted for the most part, because with LFG you essentially don't ever run out of ammo. I wish it had the option! :(
Doesn't seem like you mentioned velocity which is also an important perk on rocket sidearms. A lot of the targets I'm shooting at are moving and if your velocity is too low you're going to be missing those moving targets. I crafted mine with a mindset of 80 minimum for velocity. Just something to keep in mind for those who's shots always seems to be landing behind their targets.
What website are you using to check the top used weapons?
May be a dumb question but how do you masterwork a craftable weapon. Been trying to figure that out for some time
Doesn´t Enhanced incandescent only increase the scorchstacks that would´ve been applied IF you would´ve had Ember of Ashes equiped rather then a flat increase?
The call hits so much harder.
When rocket pistols inevitably get nerfed, the first thing they will do is cut their ammo count down to a ridiculous ~30 shots. And the damage for 10%. Bungie will do everything to make using them as inconvenient as shotguns and plasma rifles
What tf is a plasma rifle😭
Doesn’t high blast radius reduce the damage it does though?
Bungie needs to make void and statis versions now
2:40 for a species that communicates using telepathy, these Psions are getting mouthy
This is good soup right here.
