We come full circle. Dvořák's work from his stay in the US was influenced by american folk music, and now his symphony is played on an american folk instrument.
Thanks! It's just in standsrd G tuning. I have a book of tabs coming out this year, published by Mel Bay. This will be in it, with a bunch of other classical arrangements
would you say the right way to learn playing like this would be to learn where all the notes and chords are on the fretboard in a chosen tuning, like open G and then just take the score and go for it? Or do you play by ear?

It's the circle of life :)
today I learned that classical + Banjo = Rock
Prog rock?
This also reminds me of that guy that did "Bed Intruder" on the Shamisen.
Coulda sworn you were gonna play Jaws at the start! Sounds good
Thanks!
The Jaws theme is lifted from the beginning of Dvorak's 9th Symphony, 4th Movement
I love the dissonant notes. Nailed it!
Thanks so much!
This is awesome. You expressed all the harmonies from the whole orchestra very well
You're too kind - thanks!
What a great experiment!
Dvorak clearly had these sounds in his ears!
Please please please play slow mvt
I might get to the slow movement one day! Thanks for listening
Very cool and innovative approach...thanks so much for sharing!
And thank you for watching :)
I don't know Dvorak well, but that sounds awesome:)
If you don't know his 9th symphony, definitely listen to movement IV - it's a stone cold banger!
Love This
Thank you! :)
Insane, this is so cool!
Thanks so much!
Beautiful!
Thanks :)
Bravo
Thank you!
Yehaaa!
Glad you liked it
Cowboy boots, poofy pants & shirt, cowboy hat over a powdered wig.
woah amazing cover! 🔥🫶
Glad you liked it :)
You should try the finale of Divorak's 6th Symphony in D major. I'm currently working on that in orchestra class, and it's spectacular!
I'll check it out, thanks for watching
I'd say it worked for this video lol Good job.
I'll take it! Thanks
Really good work man. If you don't mind me asking, would you be willing to give Gnossienne 1 by Satie a try? I think it would work well in this style.
I might give it a go one day. I'll add it to the list! :) thanks for watching
This is great! What tuning are you using, and are there tabs available?

@@clawhammerandfrailingbanjo6366 Have you got a date for the publication of your book of tabs?
U should do more classical
I will! I have a bunch of arrangements I just need to learn
@@clawhammerandfrailingbanjo6366 good luck
yeah this rules
Thanks :D
I can't tell if this works only because I reconize it.
Possibly! haha

I mostly play by ear, but with this tune I arranged it from sheet music. Honestly, there is no trick or easy way to it: it just took me ages!
Kinda? Sounds like happy pirate music somehow.
Happy pirate music is awesome!
