- Trauma has a way of interrupting and taking over our plans. We don’t always understand the why of it all, but we can assuredly count on the same Jesus who wept and then performed miracles to also grieve with and be with us today.

John 11:35 is my favourite verse in the bible because it reminds me of this very thing, that God's empathy is present ,it is not determined by the outcome of the event. He is close to me, and he will still show me who He is .
This msg is so relevant for me right now , I've been waiting and praying to hear from God for direction for certain decisions concerning my future... and He is speaking🙏🏽for the past few weeks He has been reminding me to fear and revere nothing else but Him. Today He used Ps.Judah to remind me again, that we will see His power unveiled and that there is no reason to doubt that He cares, because He will bring new life

Judah! What on earth is the TPT? You are a pastor! Why don't you read from the best translation in the english language that we have? The authorized KJV. It is your job to preach the Word of God and teach it. Why do you let someone else and their theologies do it for you? Do you think that your congregation is too stupid to understand the Word of God? Do you find yourself incapable of breaking down verses and teaching them? Or perhaps you prefer versions that speak words that articulate your message. That verse, John 11:3, isn't even translated right! They don't say "Please come!" It says, "Therefore his sisters sent unto him, saying, Lord, behold, he whom thou lovest is sick." I would've expected you of all people to have researched these modern translations and come to the same conclusion that I and many others have come to. John 11:21 "Then said Martha unto Jesus, Lord, if thou had been here, my brother had not died." She didn't say if you had come sooner. This addition of words and thoughts could pose a problem in other passages. Other than the fact that its just simply not what she said, it's inaccurate. Throw it away. I don't want anything to do with it. Not even to extrapolate meaning. It is not to be trusted. Ok, I admit, after looking it up, I know TPT stands for the Passion Translation, if it can even be called a translation. The title is deceptive at best, for it is not a translation. It is someones view of how the bible should be written. Very dangerous. It also does not contain all the books. God forbid someone hears you preach from it and thinks this is the Bible and goes out and buys one as their first and only Bible. Not only are they getting inaccuracy, speculation, and personal views, they aren't getting the entire Word of God. You preach from it and your congregation will think, oh this must be acceptable, I'll read from it! Ooof. The following quote is from the FAQ section of the passion translations website, "The Passion Translation is more in favor of prioritizing God's original message over the words' literal meaning." Say what? How could one possible know God's original message? God's Words aren't good enough? Now, we need someone to speculate what God intended to say. If God intended to say it, don't you think He would've said it? Is that saying the Bible doesn't mean what it says? WOW! I'll continue on, John 11:33-35 says, "When Jesus therefore saw her weeping, and the Jews also weeping which came with her, he groaned in the spirit, and was troubled, And said, 'Where have ye laid him?' They said unto him, Lord, come and see. Jesus Wept." Did you say this TPT is more accurate here?? I acknowledge we get the word "wept" from the greek word dakryo G1145 which is "to shed tears." So here, in this 2 word verse, in more words and with added description than found in Strong's, it defines dakryo. I still wouldn't define what the TPT says as more accurate. But, TPT still does not reference anger either, but rather, simply emotion. So what is it? If it's more accurate, why talk about anger and transition your message into the anger God has towards Satan? This book says "he shuddered with emotion" and there is no way to divert back to greek and find the words that were used unless you go to the KJV or several other worked through so-called versions. "He groaned in the spirit" would still be more accurate here. And lets be honest, its a beautiful description worthy of a King. When I read "shuddered with emotion," I don't get that. I see feeble and weak minded. How dare they minimize my God, Jesus, to someone shaking with "emotion" like an unhinged young man who lets their anger control them, ready to throw a punch at a bar fight. We get "he groaned" from the greek (not Hebrew or Aramaic) word embrimaomai G1690 which has the root word brimaomai which is "to snort with anger." The rest of the definition is "to have indignation on, i.e. (transitively) to blame, (intransitively) to sigh with chagrin, (specially) to sternly join." Make no mistake, I know where you got anger as part of the definition. I did, after all learn this study as an intern in your church under one of your mentors. Whether or not he was angry with Satan in this passage isn't discussed or described. It does say he groaned when he "saw her weeping, and the Jews also weeping which came with her." Exactly why that stirred up anger here is unclear. For all intents and purposes he could've been angry that they did not trust Him. And actually, going to verse 40, like you did, we can, with some level of accuracy, speculate that his "groaning" or anger has something to do with her unbelief. As it says in John 11:40, "Jesus saith unto her, 'Said I not unto thee, that, if thou wouldest believe, thou shouldest see the glory of God?'" But to use this particular verse to extrapolate the anger that Jesus has towards Satan (when it can be found specifically elsewhere in the Bible) is manipulation. Moving on, we get "was troubled" from the greek (again, not Hebrew or Aramaic) word tarasso G5015 which is "to agitate (roil water)." To suggest that you know what God is thinking and feeling this very moment is unwise. You cannot know such things. You can ponder and hypothesize but you cannot say "it is." Empathy, tenderness, and compassion are not part of tarasso. Where this book gets those words from in this verse is beyond me. The author is obviously adding his own meaning which you go along with. You cannot use false imagery to convey the love of God to people. You've even said it yourself before, if someone can be convinced to believe in God, they can be convinced not to. You even find yourself not knowing the Bible anymore, needing to read from the book and not having it stored in your heart and mind, stumbling over wording. Get rid of this, while you still don't have it committed to memory. It will corrupt your mind and in turn the hearts of those in your congregation. Take up the Bible, the most accurate english translation we have, the authorized KJV. Preach and teach from it. Reference the greek and hebrew if/when you must. But leave it at that. Dear Judah, you have such a gift. You truly are an amazing speaker and you can reach people in such a way that I'm sure some pastors only dream of. Your passion and love for the Lord is evident. I am certain you mean well, and you have fantastic ways of conveying God's heart and you do speak a lot of truth in beautiful and heart touching ways. I just don't understand why you have left the Bible on the shelf and picked up these books that poorly and inaccurately attempt to do what GOD has given YOU the GIFT TO DO. You have the opportunity to do this the right way, using the Bible and allowing the Holy Spirit to guide your words and messages using and focusing on accurate scripture. Be careful with these modern so-called translations. Be careful with who you associate with, these preachers and teachers that call themselves pastors, some of which are not. T.D. Jakes who talks about his wife twerking for the Lord. COME ON. I hope you have said something on your association and friendship with Lentz. I hope you scrutinize Hillsong, Bethel, Elevation, and the like with a fine tooth comb. I hope you're paying attention to Christine Cain and her support of unity of religions. I hope you have your eyes wide open. Run far away from this political activism, social injustices, and unity crud. Take your stand. Know who you are allowing to speak into your church's life. I don't know exactly what my dad said to you that day when he was praying. But, I know the gist. I wont reveal it here. But if you can remember, take it to heart. We need more of God and His word, and less of us and peoples theologies and unfounded interpretations, less of this world and the things it serves.
