Since August 28th the Mets rotation has a 1.92 ERA collectively or something absurd. The guy with the HIGHEST ERA out of the rotation since then is Severino of all people. Peterson is at 2.28. Quintana is at 1.88, Manaea is at 1.72, Severino is at 2.34 and Megill hasnt allowed an earned run in 3 of his last 4 starts. Although he had 1 start was not so good and gave up like 6
I’m a Mets fan and it’s been a fun ride. I do think they’ll get in but this is not a World Series team. This pitching staff, both the rotation and bullpen, will not be enough to get past the Phillies in the NLDS or the likely Dodgers in the NLCS who just obliterated the Braves 2 straight games. The Mets might not even get out of the wild card. They are 1-10 against Milwaukee since September 2022 and the Padres are a very good team. The Mets have gotten very little from Alonso, Marte and Alvarez and absolutely nothing from JD and Nimmo since the all star break. Vientos has cooled off substantially and is hitting about .125 in September. Unless all these guys pick it up together it won’t be enough to see a single NLDS game at Citi
@@crispycruiser4654yeah but this is supposed to be a step-back year after those bad scherzer and verlander contracts. The fact that the team made playoffs tells front office they should build off what we have rather than tear it all down and start over, shows the team is still worth investing in after the setbacks. Mets infield looks solid now with alonso, acuña, lindor, vientos, alvarez, maybe move mcneil to OF and infield depth. If they can improve pitching in the offseason team can be really good next season
@@Ralfydee Some people have had enough "step back" years. 38 in a row to be exact. Since 2000 when I started watching the Mets have been to the postseason 5 times, and 2 times got eliminated in the WC round. So three NLDS appearances since the turn of the century, since Mike Piazza and Robin Ventura were our 3-4 punch. It's a full generation. I know David Stearns said playoffs was the goal this year, and this was enough for toxic positivity Reddit Mets fans who started watching in 2015, but anyone over the age of 35 did not accept that prediction from Stearns and neither did I. Playoffs is not good enough. And that's why you're seeing 21,000 people going to the games with 1 week to go. Because it's not a "pennant race". The Mets are in a race to be the 6th best team in the NL and be the road team in a qualifier round. Anything other than a pennant is a BUST.
There was like 10 things said in this thats wrong If the mets have the same record as the diamondbacks or the padres they immediately get the higher seed because they won the best out of 7 games vs those teams. You play teams in your conference and odd number of times strictly for this so it doesnt happen. And btw Carrasco hasnt been on this team at all this year 😂😂😂😂
@MPTB00 Wow great observation that people are wrong sometimes. Especially shocking that somebody who works two full time baseball jobs occasionally slips up
All three of them did not know - they had to figure it out. At least Kay's totally comfortable with being corrected and wants to get it right, unlike certain other talk show hosts.
Disappointing when these guys talk about the Mets. Never give them respect. Always find ways to knock them down a little. The try to paint a different picture even on the little things. Quick example. Quintana. Saying he’s struggling etc. the guy has a 3.00 ERA the past 15 games. How’s that struggling. There pitching staff has beeen extremely good. Stop being* lazy and just look up basic stats.
What...the Mets have one of the highest payrolls in American sports history can we stop acting like there the little team that could because they are going to scratch out a wildcard .... nonsense

carrasco ? 😂
Bro I was like whattt 😂😂😂😂
man this Mets team is got alot of magic
The traffic going to a Mets game from Brooklyn keeps me away from going walk up style. Takes an hour and a half to get there.
Why is carrasco still here 😂😂
The mets are the team to be this year Lindor is the true mvp
You need a bit of that magic dust to make it big. LFGM.
Carasco is no longer here Michael & Quintana has been exceptional for a good stretch now.

LGM 🔥
Michael Kay said two completely wrong things lol
And you cant stop eating bro
I know he mentioned Carrasco and he's no longer even on the team lol 😂
I bet you listen to the game on headphones while sitting in the stands

@Maximillionleraci-v3y Alright, pipe down big mouth. OP made an annoying comment but quit being an overly rude tryhard edgelord
😂
ALWAYS WRONG!!! Michael's side guys ALWAYS have to correct him!!! Head to Head has always been first factor. OMG!!!

The Mets shit the bed every damn year. Why would I pay $200 when I can sit on my couch?
