The reason why all 4 corners dont lock with that pin is so you can adjust to different door widths. I thought I did it wrong at first, then realized that it would not extend if I needed it to. Helpful video.
A good installation video but how well does it work, how robust is it, and how long will it last? Also, I can't understand why so many people try to make these types of videos without a tripod, GoPro, or assistant to hold the camera. I highly recommend one of these options.
Seeing you slide the rails was so helpful. Their instructions and even the app they have was NO help in figuring out how the top and bottom rails slid in.
This was helpful, but you miss one important thing. The bottom rail: you need a board under it or it will collapse the whole unit. People walk on the edge as a habit. It cannot support that much weight
Looks like he has a step supporting it, but yes, it does mention in instructions to have something that the unit is resting on, like the floor, a step that come level with the door sill...Or if it is a step down from the sill, and your sill is flush, or a very short lip, you will need a support piece added. I would recommend a PVC type piece, like floor decking or something with strength and thickness so so you dont have to worry about painting it or water rot and such.

@@TH4TU53RN4M3TH0REVIEWS I really enjoy the Genius Retractable Screen Doors. The Brisa style only fits on the outside of the frame. I like the Milano retractable screen door best cause you can install it inside of the door frame.
I can see that if it is an outside door that the trim will have to be ripped off, repurchased and replaced where it covers the side of the house and door jam. This screen is nice but it is deigned to be used where the siding bumps up against the door jam without trim casing. I elected to put furring strips inside the jamb rather than tear off my casing. Also, to make it easier to insert the cross pieces top and bottom just loosen the screws.
Ok, hears a hint this is very easy to install. The worst part was the tracks. Losen the screws on the top and bottom just a bit, then they slid right in
@@basiawill1023 Keep in mind that only 2 corners will lock in. This is so the other 2 corners can extend to fit the width of the opening. So it feels like it didn't go in right, as 2 of them will not lock in.
Yes, you can cut the bottom plate, and the rest will sit over the openning. So you have to order as close to size standard as possible, and then the bottom can be notched in . I wish the retractability was smoother and better made to operate. Its actually very flimsy, and the guides are not very good. I think for the price I paid for a double door screen was about 400-500? I forget, but its more like a 150-200 $ item. BUT, there is a void in the market. We used a magnetic one for a couple years, and those get weathered and wear out. But they are $20! lol . also not easy to stick on stucco, so I nailed them in, and its not ideal . So we got this, and it does a decent job, but its way over priced. But maybe if they are the only makers, I would buy again. Hope that helps. @@micheleritchie-harris3453

I found it kinda tricky to, as the directions say, "just slide the rail into place".

They are pretty tricky I tried to show the best assembly I could. The first one we put together was a son of a gun

How do you install over an existing metal sill?
If the sill is sticking out, you just rest it on the sill. if flush and its a step out and down, you need a support piece. See comments above.
Does the face plate screw into existing door face plate?
The face has a channel with screw holes to screw in the door jam. See 5min in the video.
