- Follow Gary as he pimps his Engwe Engine Pro E Bike to help him with his metal detecting.
With the help of Bleeper Bob from the Hayling Detect metal detecting club, he adapts his bike to become a tool for the job now he can take his XP Deus metal detector into unknown territory.
E bikes are the future, they are a cheap and reliable form of transport, perfect for field hopping.
Gary talks about the stigma attached to E Bikes in the UK, people think they are just for the younger generation to have fun on, he later explains why the older generation should move forward and embrace new technology.
Gary said "This E Bike has turned me into a 20-year-old hooligan again" he then went on to find his limitations and an early mud bath, so no metal detecting today.

That's right I crashed my new E Bike, but it held together well.

When you get your helmet, have Bob print you up a mount for the Deus 2 Xtrem dual coil setup on top of the helmet, get up to about 40kph on the Ebike.....Deus 2 can fly Dude!! But then you will probably need a parachute too!! Just a random though of mine sorry!!
It's always good to hear from you my friend.
Bobs a pretty cool guy to know mate, great design on the spade hanger, the RC controller mount looks the buiseness aswell. I think it was inevitable you'd come off, having so much fun and that terrain 😊. Well done on video. 👍
Why does fun = pain
I put a new gooseneck and BMX style handlebars on my e-bike. Much more comfortable than the stock handlebars and the Deus2 mounts nicely to the bars. Good luck and thank you for all the knowledge!
Cheers Wayne, I did see those bars, but not sure if the bike would still fold with them on.
D2 + e bikes = a match made in heaven Gary :)
And motorcycles 😁 cheers Marc
My new XP eTrike with cargo racks front and rear makes an outstanding detecting “mule”. I call it “Digger”
Wow that sounds 👍
4:46 Hi Gary… I love your instructional videos as I have purchased a DS2 here in Australia.
Mate love the hard case
made by Bleeper Bob. Do you have any links?
I’ve looked on the Internet and can’t find anything.
I have the XP backpack, but would like to have added protection for the head unit and earphones.
Thanks in advance
At the moment they are just prototypes, as soon as they are available I will post them up.
@@The-skillschool Awesome, thanks heaps will grab one for sure 🤪👍
Hello Gary,
I liked this nice video.
It was great.
Thank you for sharing and see you soon I hope.
Louis
Thanks for watching Louis 👍
The need for speed looks like you had a great time, Gary. Nice bit of kit. Go careful! Cheers
Cheers Nick 👍
Helmet definitely a lifesaver. Tuck the cap in your bag and stow the helmet on the bike when you’re detecting. I’ve crashed my bike a few times and the helmet saved me trips to the ER.
Great advice, thanks 👍
Love the setup and the custom clip for your shovel. Where do you store your detector shaft when you head out on your bike?
The XP Deus folds down and fits into my back pack.
Take a look a the XP Metal Detectors web site. They have some amazing tech 👍
Awesome, thanks, I have one of the XP backpacks and use that when I ride to detecting spots. Just wanted to make sure Bob didn't have a bike bracket for that too @@The-skillschool 😆
IT WAS PERFECT ACTION GARY !!!! 🙂 Nice machine !!!
Cheers buddy, good to hear from you 🤝
Brilliant Gary that made me chuckle 😊
That's good to hear Paul, glad it made your day 👍🤝
Great video! Now you will have to give that Indian Motorcycles cap a wash too! But next time, stow the cap in your bag an put on a helmet :) We don't want to lose the knowledge in the skull of yours!
I use my 50cc motorscooter to go to my local permission near Winchester, and those tracks around the edges of the fields can be very slippery/pot-holed/treacherous! it may be fun to go fast, but really 10mph is deffo fast enough if you don't want to end up on the ground!
You have a good point, helmet is a must. I do have one now.
Thanks for watching 🤝
Excellent Gary, and Top Job 'pimping' her into a Detecto-Mobile!... I have a more 'standard' eMTB, and once just lashed my shovel to the top-tube with the ol' Cable-Ties. It dint look nearly as swish as yours, so that's great work from your mate Bob Take care then, an' thanks as ever... Bob 🐭
Thanks Bob, it's always good to hear from you 👍🤝
@@The-skillschool Hey thanks matey - appreciate that... 🙏
Gary great bike , I’m wondering if I should update to the 2.0 will I lose anything if I do . I’m still learning my xp deus 2 so just wondering if I should. Thanks for your help.
I think version 1.1 will be fine. Version 2.0 if you plan to use the Xtrem.
Thank You I was thinking that.
Like that Deus 2 box. Gary, how do we trade stickers? I like the new logo. Watch the mud. That bike needs a good power wash. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks DDS, I don't have stickers, that logo was 3D printed.
Cool setup!
Thank you
Brilliant Video Gary! Loved it!
Cheers Dave 🤝👍
Awesome bike Gary. Random question, what your 4x4 engine size?
2.0l Steve it's not ULEZ compliant.
Tnx, may go T32 1.6 👍
@SuffolkSifter check if it has a Renault engine 🥺
Hello Gary, nice tool this bike but watch out for falls, Lol, I wanted to know if the box for the D2 utensils has a reference or an internet link to order some, Bob's box..??? I can't find anything on the net, thank you in advance and have a good WE Alexandrine and Toch
Hi there

OK Garry bon WE
Looks fantastic! would buy that shovelholder i have a similar bike :) price of the bag with Rebate is now 65 Euros so its double the price sadly.

Outstanding mate....
Thanks Albert 👍🤝
Gary I just use a nice backpack when I’m on my EBike D2 or Manticore and shovel all go in backpack no problem
Thanks for the info, it worries me having a sharp spade in my backpack.
@@The-skillschool e-bikes are great to get you into areas
Could you switch the brake cables over to the opposite side mate ? 😂
Possibly but they are a weird sort of hydraulic and will need bleeding.
It could open a can of worms.
Where can I order the box 4:51 ?
They are not available just yet.
I hope your deus11 is OK .and you OK young man. From raining Cornwall 😮
All OK, rain Tim ? Should soften the ground up 😳
@@The-skillschool Hit your old productive sites after the rain and you'll be surprised!
Where can we get a friend like Bob?
Not many like him about
Pick yourself up brush yourself off and start all over again Gary . Thanks for the video.
