Thank you for the great tips. I am new at pop up camping. This is the first year I’ve camped in my pop up. I was a tent camper before this year.
My trouble was hooking up to
my SUV. I camp by myself and I used my back up camera to back up but I would jump out and I’d be 2 inches from the ball. Then jump back in back up a hair and be 1 and 1/2 inches from the ball, then too far and so on. When I finally got it in the right place, I forgot what it looks like for the hitch to be on the ball. I thought it was on, but when I went over a railroad track, it wiggled and “BOOM” it came off and the tongue hit the pavement. Luckily a nice man stopped and lifted it with one hand and put it on the hitch. He showed me what it looks like and tested it. I was a nervous wreck. So when I got to the storage place I leave it, I unhitched and practiced over and over backing up and hitching it up. I guess practice makes perfect! I love your videos. They are so helpful to me!

We did the "if we had just done that" the first time we took her out this year lol. Corrected it the second time same spot. We just did replace those leg like stabilizer bars with heavy duty scissor jacks because the others were so bad that they were almost unusable. I do have a tip that I don't know if you have talked about. I've heard people difficulties putting sheets on the bunk ends. Before we put the canvas ends down over the bunk ends I put the sheets over those two outside mattress corners and get them tucked in along the sides as far as I can then put the canvas down. It's easier to pull them to the corners on inside then without having to crawl all over and try to lift up corners on your knees lol.

Solid advice, my pop up is an Aliner but pop up nonetheless and after several shake down camps I feel I am comfortable with set up but realized I need practice on backing into tight spots. It can be stressful and embarrassing. Love your DIY’s. God Bless!

Don't forget to make sure there's room for the slide out when pulling in. I've made rhat mistake a couple of times. Quite frustrating after pulling beds out......

Check your local by-laws about using the street. In my city, unattached trailers on the street are illegal. Yes, if you're actively doing stuff with the camper, bylaw enforcement might take your word for it that it won't be staying there but best to know your laws. (ACAB)
