- Malatang is one of the things I used to eat all the time in China. It's quick, it's cheap, it's delicious and it's SPICYYYYY!! If you've never tried Malatang before, my advice would be: find your nearest Malatang provider and GET YOUR BUTT THERE RIGHT NOW!

It was so much fun taking my parents and my sister for their first ever Malatang experience - they loved it! And this is just the beginning. I'm gonna continue introducing delicious, authentic Chinese food to my family and friends while I'm here in Sydney. Thank goodness we have such an amazing variety of Chinese restaurants to explore. Stay tuned!
There will be more HK/Cantonese restaurants at Australia soon when your government brings in those HK rioters.
@@mulanfa1292 mate, not necessary to bring Amy into the politics.
Loving this idea! I need to make a pilgrimage to my closest Chinatown and get my Malatang and hotpot fix. I feel like I'm having withdrawals.
Nice family, which suburb you live in ? I grew up in parra area
Chatswood, eastwood, cardingford, epping, burwood, ashfield, hurstville. These areas has the most Chinese population in Sydney. Chatswood, Eastwood carlingford epping and hurstville has more Cantonese food. Ashfield has more Shanghai food and burwood is pretty diversified. Si chuan food is pretty popular you can find in any of these suburbs. Parramatta has a pretty famous dong bei food.
“I’ve got a ”麻辣-tongue.”
Your genius dad took puns to the next level. This right here, is a bilingual pun! 😂😂😂
I know right?! I still laugh when I think about that comment
Hahaha.... luckily this comment was here... only just “clicked”. LOL
哈哈哈笑死我了😂
@@BlondieinChina better trademark that name quick and open your own malatongue restautant soon!😄
Dad’s joke 😂 that was awesome!
No wonder Amy is so polite and elegant, her family is fantastic.
You're so sweet :)
Show your sister a little more. I see your dad and mom a lot , but your sister is not familiar face
Yes. Her families are amazing.
You totally stole my line!
love your family!
The "She thought he was speaking english" part made my day, so usual when speaking chinese as a westerner :) Nice to see share your experience of chinese culture with your family !
What a nice family. Your dad has a great sense of humor.
Why do we love Amy? She is always optimistic and full of energy. Watching the video, I'm in a better mood today.
What a beautiful comment! You made my day, Darren!!
Darren Sun her whole family is! It’s a treat to watch her vids loll
So true
Yes, Amy is very positive, energetic, optimistic, always smiling. Very strong points and that helps a lot I believe for many people so it's never a let down watching her videos.
Amy is a ray of sunshine and positivity
你爸爸每次出场都有特别搞笑的台词,太有趣了,很喜欢你爸爸🤣
this is the cutest family ever.
“Mala Tongue” made me LOL!!
ME TOO!! hahah
Jokes on you they actually have pork tongue
Dad: da bao ke yi man?
Waiter: sorry I only speak a little English
😂😂😂
😂😂😂
I think your dad's pronunciation is ok, she just wasn't prepared for it . That happens even for people who are fluent in both.
@@BlondieinChina That definitely hits my laugh point!
XSWL😂
哈哈哈哈哈哈哈哈
"打包可以吗?"
"Sorry, my english is not good enough..."
poor girl...
lol😂 笑死我了
这段超好笑 记得之前我讲英文 然后他们告诉我 不懂中文 哈哈哈
omg your dad is so funny, especially his joke.
especially Mala tongue🤣
Amy, I am really impressed by your family. You really pushed them to the limit and I had one of the biggest laugh in my life over the total misunderstanding of the dinner they consumed! 😆
Good food is one of the best ways to bridge cultures and foster friendship.
Couldn’t agree more!
I love that you have subtitles both in Chinese and English through out the whole video! That must take a lot of work! Loved the video. I miss having a good MaLaTang!
I really love the interaction in your family. You explained the Malatang culture in a very impressive way
The joke: Mala tongue was EPIC !!!
What sort of animal is Mala? 😂😂😂
Hi Amy! Although this comment is not related to this video, I wanted to let you know that I have been watching all your videos and you are one of the reasons why I chose to attend Tsinghua University. I was born and raised in America, but I was always curious about my home country. I want to thank you for giving me enough courage and reason to attend a school literally on the other side of the globe!
Oooo Malatang is definitely one of my favorites! And of course, the spicier the better! You guys are lucky that have proper malatang restaurants back home! Whenever I travel back to my country , I start missing China and all the delicious food after 3 days!
That is so cool of your family trying something totally different and they enjoyed it. Most Aussies I know only eat dumplings noodles and fried rice. And your dad is very funny. And take away what's left is something we should learn here in China, don't waste.
I love your video and your family!! It's always great and exciting to try something new. Chinese food is AMAZING!
What a nice, lovely family Amy.
Loved the video with the four of you. More please!
Oh gosh I love you and your family for being so fun and open to a foreign culture . And your dad is so cute ! Just subscribed!
I love that even after you are back home in Sydney, you are still seeking Chinese food. Just like me looking for a burger when I’m back in China for a month. You definitely develop a taste after a while aboard. Love your vid as always!
I studied abroad in China for a year. I miss it there!
maybe main part is food there😂,lol
Your whole family seems so sweet and open-minded!
You have such a lovely family! Love your dad! I hope they all enjoyed their MaLaTang!
So happy that you shared Chinese food culture to your family.Thank u so much~
Your dad’s hilarious, absolutely wonderful family!
Lol you literally sounds like a Chinese saying English when you say ‘thank you’ at 8:34. It made me laugh so bad! Thank you for introducing our culture to more people by the way.
right, they said sank you.😂
Amy your videos always bring such joy to my day!
Thank you so much! This video made my day! I hope everyone is like you and your family, so happy and open-minded. There will no hatred, no war in the whole world.
this is hilarious ahhahaha i love how your dad looked at you and was like "u got the dry base but u recommended us the soup base" and u looked back and r like u first-timer just behave. HAHHAHA
I love Amy's face when leaving the malatongue~ so adorable~
Your videos is soooo good. I used to stay in Sydney for two years. When you said 'sister", I know you are a Aussie!! Thanks for your video to show the chinese food and culture to the other countries. Your mandarin is pretty good and this can be a advantage as a youtuber!
Love your video Amy. They are all great. It's hilarious when your dad said "Mala tongue", which actually makes accurate sense.
Girl, you make Chinese people proud! Your family are awesome, too.
You're one of millions Aussie girl who loves Chinese authentic food, many others wouldn't even dare to smell it.
Seriously I love ur family, especially your Daddy, full of sense of humor
In every video about family dinners, Dad is always the most excited! love your video so much.
So cute, Amy. I will introduce my daughter to watch your show for sure. She is a non-Chinese speaker Chinese and refuses to try Malatang.
Gosh. This makes me recall the memory when I took my partner to a Chinese hotpots place and he didn’t enjoy at all. 😭😭. Great to see how people from other culture trying out and enjoying our food.
Hi Amy, thank you so much to share your experience of China and Chinese food on RUclips . and your family are so cute! Love all of you.
You have such an awesome family. Smiles all around. Excellent you all had a good time!!
I’m really looking forward to seeing more family video like this, it’s always fascinating to see people diving into a new culture.
Hope you guys enjoy the Chinese food, keep trying different stuffs, it’s all about fun.
It’s so nice to see foreigners willing to try different Chinese food!
Your dad is no stranger to Chinese language. A very friendly man as well. In fact the whole family are so lovely! Amy's understanding of Chinese food is definitely the best!
I cannot help watching more and more of your videos. It is really fun. You have a wonderful family.
This is such a wholesome video, Amy! 🍜🍲
Glad you liked it Cameron! Thanks for watching
Your dad is always full of fun energy
Such a great video introduced 麻辣烫 (Malatang) so precisely! I am Chinese, but I don't think I know more about Malatang than you! I couldn't hold my laugh when I was watching the video. It's just so much fun!! Like it!
Watching your videos makes me happy!! You have a lovely family!! 🌸❤️💕🥰🇦🇺
Your whole family members are all chopsticks experts hahaha
We’ve all been using them for a very long time!! Mum and dad have been taking us to chinese restaurants since we were babies!
Especially in the left hand
You daddy has a good one for “MaLa Tongue” that’s so funny 😂
Your video is full of positive energy and true enjoyment of trying out new things. I t made me feel happy!
I have watched the family videos over and over lol. I love when you mom dad and sis are together 💜😍
Your parents seem pretty cool and your dad has great sense of humor.
We need to need a positive and loving view of China now more than ever. Thanks for making the incredible videos.
your parents are super good! they are kind, open-minded and really fun!
Love this vlog! it’s 12.23am ...and I’m hungry after watching this...I want a mala tongue...wish I was in China right now. Your Chinese is legit btw👌
I feel your dad's pain lol! 🤣🤣 That was the EXACT same response I got once when I tried to order potstickers in Chinese haha! The guy seriously thought I was speaking in English. When he found out I was trying to order in Chinese, he told me his 4-year old son spoke better Chinese than me 🤣
Very interesting video. Looking for more videos of this kind. Take your family together, especially your father he is genius and a funny guy.
You are having such lovely families. open minded and willing to try new things.
Your families are very nice people ,I like them, open minded and easy going and kind and gentle
Good choice for first timers! I acutally prefer mala tang over hotpot for how customisable it is.
The reason why it's not for vegetarian is that usually the soup base has bone stock in it. Some mala tang offer vegetarian soup base but you can always mitigate the issue by ordering the dry base like you did!
Good point!! Should have ordered my sister a dry base haha
10pm now at US, feeling so hungry after this video
uh oh! You should never watch my videos on an empty stomach lol
Ni Lin me too
@@BlondieinChina there should be a warning, like 'Don't watch this at home without snack' haha~
Very interesting to watch more and more people trying out Chinese popular food and what's more interesting is when the malatang and hotpot restaurants you visited are just downstairs to where I live haha, I go to them quite a lot, they were pretty good
I knew it was Eastwood as it looked so familiar. Pretty fun video to watch, thanks Amy and your family. I happened to hit your video regarding TikTok reactions now kind of a fan. May bump into you some other day and don't be surprised if some stranger says hello 😂
It's actually originated from NorthEast of China (I saw you once been there), it's named after "Si Chuan" basically because the Northeast people IMAGINE that people in Si Chuan eat like this. However, it's definitely delicious! I used to have it as a midnight snack when I was in school.
You shall try the 麻辣香锅, or SPICY NUMBING STIR-FRY POT. That would another unforgettable experience 😀
you guys are a nice family, so much fun shared with each other at one meal out
6:21 that confidence in holding and using a pair of chopsticks without hesitation amazed me. 🥢👍
This is at Eastwood, I usually eat there. It closes very late.
You have such a cute family. Your dad attempting mandarin is hilarious. A for effort.
Went to Melbourne and adelaide last September, love all the asian and western food and the people are so polite and friendly. Have a nice time for a 11 days stay. 👍👍👍😊
A total interesting experience and fun as well. I enjoyed the video very much as your family too. Thanks amy for this episode.
Thanks for watching Derrick! So happy you enjoyed it :)
Your family is adorable...that mala tongue cracked me up
Amy, I really appreciate "mala-tongue" :). You dad is genius!!! Cheers
I'm a new fan! Great family you have there Amy! Can't wait to see your family try other chinese food (Maybe 水煮鱼 or 羊蝎子 or 东波肉) or Chinese Desserts! (芝麻糊 or 龟苓膏 or 豆腐脑)!
You have SUCH a lovable family!
麻辣烫 plus Sharetea, it's a dream for any Chinese in Melbourne😂😂😂
A heavenly combination
@yy l The key is to keep it under $11.75
Father: 到饱可医马?
Girl: sorry i speak a little English.
I love ur parents character. So nice and humorous.
I subscribed and shared this channel right after watching it for the first time. So amazing and amusing 😂😂👍👍 from HK
It’s a purple yam. They sell them at Whole Foods in the States.
It's a very delicious food. I've tried it many times. When I was first trying to eat it, It was like a noodle which has some vegetables on it, And it smells very good. I like it,
What a lovely family. Bless you and hope you keep enjoying Chinese food.
A wonderful and well educated family!Thank you for showing Chinese and Chinese food to the world, I also like China very much!
both parents are highly educated professionals, and nice :)
more food vlogs plz. it's almost bed time, and i'm feeling hungry now..
yes!! I definitely will continue making videos like this - so fun
大家好啊!
SOSO SU 萨哥好
Amy is losing patience in the end with her “getting worse” students 😂
It looks delicious. Thanks for sharing. I haven't been dining out for the last 5 or maybe 6 months.
I've been drooling all the time watching your videos, Amy... Miss Chinese food so much T^T
Some may brush this content away as "oh another cute girl in China", that is not the case here. Intelligent, informative, interesting
Haha, my wife loves malatang with tomato base. It’s quite expensive in Sydney. 🤣 dry one is not malatang, it’s called ma la xiang guo (麻辣香锅)
Oh! Got it! Thanks for that, I'll make sure I refer to it by its proper name in the future :)
@@BlondieinChina I don't think so, what you ate is really dry malatang. The ma la xiang guo(麻辣香锅) is deep-fried, but yours not.
油炸??麻辣香锅不是炒的么?
@@user-uu5sx2tq3l 先炸后炒
川不靠普 可能我们吃的都是假的🤪
I watched the entire video. It's so much fun. I really like your dad's attempt to say "打包可以吗". So funny. I also saw Eastwood...like it.
your family is literally the cutest
that purple sausage is actually cheese rice cake hahahaha! love this episode ❤️❤️❤️
OH! Hahahah well it was delicious
@@BlondieinChina it really is 😁😁
Great dad joke from your dad. "麻辣tongue"! This one is going to stick.
Hahahahaha I love how shocked dad was when he realised you ordered the soupy base, and also how quickly you said yeah yeah yeah for the first time you get the soupy base, DON'T YOU CHALLENGE MY RECOMMENDATION, I KNOW WHAT I'M DOING 🤣🤣
Your families are soooo fun!
