Hello! Thank you for clarifying the usage in this simple manner. First of all it is just in time for me. Sharpening skill of speaking my biggest milestone. Have a great day! And many thanks!
Hello Ms. Kirsty, I appreciate your helpful video. This video is absolutely helpful to communicate in English. I turned down the video speed a little so that I could listen to what you said. I need to practice listening English. By the way, 30 years passed yesterday since Hanshin Awaji megaquake broke out. A lot of people prayed for peaceful days in Japan. Have a good day.
Hi Manabu, Thank you so much for your kind words! I'm really glad to hear you found the video helpful for practicing English communication. Slowing down the video is a great idea to catch all the details-listening practice is such an important part of learning a language! It’s humbling to reflect on the Hanshin-Awaji earthquake, even 30 years later. My thoughts are with everyone in Japan as you remember and pray for continued peace and safety. Wishing you a wonderful day, and best of luck with your English practice! Kirsty

Regarding your question, to improve your English speaking quickly alongside watching videos, here are a few tips: - Shadowing: Listen to native speakers and try repeating what they say, mimicking their pronunciation and intonation. - Focus on useful phrases: Learn phrases and expressions you can use in everyday situations to build confidence. - Watch films and series in English with subtitles (or without if you can). I have a full video with more tips here: ruclips.net/video/XSVkPg23m7Y/видео.html Wishing you the best on your English-learning journey! Take care, Kirsty

Weldone my teacher ! Pronunciation and logical way of speaking for,to you credit goes. We use but,and ,while, whereas, however etc. Are you teaching in school or college ?
Hi Ashgar, Thank you so much for your kind words! 😊 I'm glad you find my way of teaching helpful. Regarding your question, I taught English in French state primary schools when I was a university student (for five years), but I currently work for myself teaching English to both children and adults. Take care, Kirsty
I use many expressions in the video regularly except ‘whereas’’That is to say ‘and ‘well’. I often use ‘meanwhile’ instead of ‘whereas’ and unconsciously refraining ‘well’ as a vague word. I’d like to use ‘that is to say’ more than ‘it means’ I often use now. I often see natives omit ‘but’ from ‘not only but also’ 😮Thank you 😊
Hi Hideakiya, Thank you for sharing your thoughts! 😊 It’s great to hear about the expressions you use and your conscious effort to refine your language. Using "meanwhile" instead of "whereas" works well in many contexts! "That is to say" is a great choice for clarity! Keep experimenting-it’s all part of becoming fluent! Take care, Kirsty
Thanks a lot for your wonderful effort, your videos are so informative and helpful. However, If you prepare a PDF file that contains the topic or the information you present in the video, that would be helpful for the people so we don't miss anything you say.
Hi Mosaad, Thank you so much for your kind words and support! 😊 That’s a great suggestion-I’ll definitely consider creating PDF summaries or notes to go along with the videos so you can have everything in one place. Thanks for sharing your feedback! 🙏 Take care, Kirsty

Hi, Thank you, I'm glad you liked the video :) Firstly, make sure to subscribe and press the notification bell, that way you will get a new lesson from me every week! My suggestions: I know lots of English learners who make progress with the @duolingo app. For reading exercises, you should check out the BBC Newsround website: www.bbc.co.uk/newsround The British Council website is also a good resource: learnenglish.britishcouncil.org/ For speaking practice, if you don't have a class or a speaking partner, you need to shadow what you hear on RUclips videos, films, or series. I hope this helps! Take care, Kirsty
Hi Caleb, I'm currently working on an online course. I'll keep you all posted when it's ready! I hope your English learning is going well. Take care, Kirsty
Usually, I don't have an opportunity to communicate with English speakers, and I'm Japanese. I don't know well, but, In my opinion, "You know" is the most confusing phrase. As for me I consider it "Do you know" or "I think maybe you know" or "I'll tell you some important things" instead of "you know" Is it OK ?
Hi, Thank you for sharing your thoughts! It’s completely okay to find phrases like “you know” a bit confusing-English has many expressions that can mean different things depending on the context. 😊 “You know” is a very common phrase in spoken English, and its meaning often depends on how it’s used. Here are a few examples: To check understanding: It can mean “Do you understand?” or “Are you following what I’m saying?” For example: “It was a really busy day, you know?” To introduce something familiar: It can also mean “I think you’re already aware of this.” For example: “You know that café we went to last week?” As a filler phrase: Sometimes people say it simply as a habit to fill pauses while they think of what to say next. For example: “I was walking to the store, and you know, it just started raining out of nowhere.” You’re absolutely on the right track with your understanding! 😊 Take care, Kirsty
@ConfidentEnglishWithKirsty Thank you very much for detailed explanation. I could understand this phrase deeper. If I could use those phrases you pick up I would feel like communicating with native speakers naturally.
