Anyway to tighten up the MAWL front bezel? Mine has lost an enormous amount of it’s tactile/stiffness. I get accidental off to on/standby and that keeps eating up batteries. I wish BE Meyers would replace the plastic bezel components with aluminum or something. Maybe TNVC can get some solutions from them, cause they don’t answer my calls. Cheers!
Seeing truly is believing with the MAWL. I started with the DBAL A3 and really didn't think the MAWL was all that, till I bought one. To use the cliché phrase, it's night and day difference in not only performance but ergonomics.
@sparda1123 My experience mirrors yours. I loved my A3, but I desired a little more power when hunting under a full moon.....The MAWL was the answer to my question.......
I own 2 MAWL-C1’s. They are great to use! Issues; - 1 year warranty for a $2,600+ item sucks. - Eats batteries like crazy. - Operation propeller gets loose the more you use it. Costed me $250 to get it fixed. I might have buyers regret. Should have stuck with the AT/PIAL-C. I have 2 of them and the work great. America!
So it basically a overhyped item right there, and the propeller has became a issue that it can break itself very quick through the switching machasim. Plus the price point is somewhat difficult for lots of peoples to approach. Honestly, if the mawl is $2000. It might be worth it, but the price didn't come down since it came out in 2016. We can safely assumed it wouldn't be any big price change in the next 5-7 years. By that time, might be some new cool lasers already been out. Literally, no point of getting a mawl unless you are Mil/L.E that can buy the DA or X1 model. Then it could be a justified purchase because it's a full power unit.
That’s not entirely accurate. He can run a Knights Armament clip on in front of an elcan and still utilize the MAWLs. A lot of people have gone that route. 👍
@@joel553009 yeah... a lot of people run the Night Vision Optics that take up 100% of the top rail space on their rifle. They run MAWLs with them. (Sarcasm)
I need more splaining. So at around 2.50 min in you explain what a VCSEL diode is and state that the MAWL-C has 19 individual 0.7 mW emitters that make up the whole diode and cumulatively that is how you get to the total power of the Illuminator. So by my math 19 x 0.7mW = 13.3 mW. So how come on your white board you have the MAWL C Illuminator power shown as 5mW to 80mW. 13.3 mW is a long ways from 80 mW. So what am I missing here.
Sam, so why don't you show us the mathematical "cumulative" equation that produces 80 mW as shown on your White Board. I showed mine. Now show yours so we can all truly understand these matters. TNVC's motto is to "educate first and foremost" so take me to skewl please.
Thanks for teaching. I'm needing more info on these. Great work!

And the A3 isnt a bad system at all, its just older tech.

What the price point difference on the 3b vs c1+...?
Can’t find the conversion for gigawatts.
Thanks for the videos Sam, great info.
Anyone have the MAWL and notice the LED indicator blinks faintly in the OFF position? Battery drain? Visible using NVG
Nope. That’s old programming. New ones don’t have battery drain.
1:09 did you mean to say “more than the C1” ?? You said x1
Could one get a AAC for the GSA? Just your run of the mill civilian?
What do you think about the perst 3 or perst4?
Theres a reason TNVC doesnt carry them

I guarantee you can sell them and recuperate nearly all of your money. Lots of people want them.

This is not accurate with current gen MAWLs. I have 3 of them and it appears you have an older unit with old programming and the old bezel cap.

Hello. Very informative video. Does it matter if I don’t have any NODs if purchasing one of these?? Thank you an thank you for your timely response

With the ER variant, does it only have a tight beam, or can you also open it up for closer rang work?
The ER never made it into production per say, a lot of its features were incorporated into the new software suite in the new MAWLs.
@@atacorion That kinda sucks, I was hoping to try get one because of the 200mW out put. Unless the new DA heads have that.

There are ER units currently in circulation. Just an fyi. Matt over at BE Meyers confirmed this when we chat on messenger. 🍺

Yes
Totally legal. Just expensive
Yes
When is the AA variant going to be available to civilians?
No release date yet
You can buy the AA end cap separately now.
I got mine from Weapon Outfitters
Good stuff
