  • Join us on the Special Episode of Campus Debate on International Women's Day at Lady Shri Ram College of Women (LSR), Delhi where we discuss the changing attitude of society towards women with the eloquent girl students. Watch how the girls debate whether the Indian society has accepted the multiple roles played by modern women or the dogmas still persist. Plus a frank talk about the problems that Indian women face in terms of safety and security.

Such type of debates should be organised at agriculture universities regarding problems of farmers and scientists

what I hate and also wish is for MEN to be on this debate. Why do we take it for granted that men cannot be changed or talked to about this? I understand that this is one of the most famous colleges (women) in India but Ia m sure they can find students (male) from another equally popular school.

And these ladies are not the only part of the society. The real india is penurious and poor. They are the people where our culture lies. These westernized girls would never feel for the real india. They can speak like a machine and that's it. They will just finish their college and start earning their big bucks. Its also not about women only, even men are suffering in millions of ways. They also need help. :(

I come from a dps, i am studying in lSR. See how special i am. This is the problem patriarchy is upheld by men because It gives them special privileges, and as long as we keep on asserting our rights to certain privileges based on our membership to a certain group, we'll have inequality. Yes the society has to change, we need to stop thinking that we are superior to someone just by the virtue of being affiliated to a certain group. This applies both to men and women.

    Just
recently I read a little about Mira Rajput's views on "a new wave of
feminism which she says is ‘aggressive and destructive’. " I totally
agree with it. Unfortunately, in any situation most society has this
    view that woman=innocent and man=guilty.
    There was a social
experimental video made where they show male actor harassing female
actor and the public intervenes and beat the crap out of him but when
the reversal was enacted no one came to the rescue of the male actor
because of the thinking "ladki maare bewaja to theek par ladka maare to
galath!" Also, that popular video "how can she slap" the poor contestant
was slapped hard first and so he retaliated but all the male a*holes
ganged up on him and beat him up to show their herogiri but really they
were just making themselves look good on cam bloody a**holes.....
Women can't be arrested by men cops but men can be arrested by women cops. Why?
    Movies
are made like Pink where actors are applauded and awarded but how many
movies are made where cases of false rape accusations and ruining of
life of men by women are brought out in the open and how many such
    movies are awarded and applauded.
    True, that both genders can
and do disobey the law but unfortunately laws are strict on men as
oppose to women because like I said earlier that the first opinion that
society forms in any case is woman=innocent and man=guilty.

Yes I agree with all these ladies, we as females need to start within ourselves respect and be confident in our own bodies that's when we will stand out to people who oppose women rights
