It makes me happy that someone who is a makeup guru said "there are no rules to makeup". I've done a couple makeup videos about my own personal styles, and some people tend to get upset that I'm doing things "wrong" and proceed to lecture me on how to "properly" do it. I'm so glad about this, too! People always get really irate that I only use a light powder foundation and no liquid, because I'm doing it "wrong". Maybe it's not everyone's favourite thing to do, but it's what works best for me as it stops my pores from getting too clogged! You do you, who cares what anyone else thinks. ❤️
People always say "wow that looks like a lot of work" trust me, it isn't when you love it! I started watching tutorials on makeup when I was about 11 and I honestly fell in love with everything about makeup. I can't tell you why I love it, I don't put it on to impress anyone, I do it because it's fun and a way to express myself. I started wearing makeup at 12 and I'm now 16. Makeup is an art and it's okay to love it, and do it.

I started wearing at a pretty young age. I wore concealer, powder, and mascara. I didn't wear the powder much because it was too dark for my skin tone. It was my moms. I was with 2 of my friends and we had a sleepover. When we woke up we sat in the hallway and I heard her mom saying I wore makeup because I was insecure. But honestly, I love the way I look and when I look in the mirror I smile because I point out the beautiful things on my body and not the negitive. Some adults don't realize that I'm not doing my makeup because I'm Insecure... it's because I want to highlight those features that I love and make them pop. Everyone is beautiful in their own special way. 💕

i so resonate with the stuff at the beginning. i started to do my makeup pretty early, about fifth grade because i always saw others wearing it and i knew i already loved it. my mom didn't really like it and she thought it was weird. i remember she asked me one day why i do it when im naturally so beautiful (i hate when people say things like that tbh), and i told her "mom, i don't think you understand. i don't do my makeup for others, i do it for myself."
I always hear friends who don't care about makeup say things like, "This is my face, deal with it, I don't understand girls who wear a lot of makeup everyday." Well I do, and I love it. I go to cover my dark circles up in the morning and I just can't stop myself because I enjoy it so much. I feel more natural with makeup on because that's what I like doing, and going bare is against who I am.

She has really good brows. Even though they aren't completely naturally filled in, it's a great natural guide for what type of brow is suppose to go with her. I went to school with make up on and they asked the usual question "Are you wearing makeup?" I said "Yeah is there something wrong with that?" I started wearing makeup when I was 12 years old. Everyone in my school said I looked like a younger Dolly Parton and that I wore to much makeup. They said that I just wanted to show out and that I was trying to make myself look better. I wore it all! I wore foundation, powder, blush, eyeshadow, mascara and the darkest or brightest lipsticks you can think of. I just thought that it made me look pretty and that I just loved it. Wow, this truly makes me want to learn how to use make up.. I've always shied away from it because it seems too difficult, and every time I tried it on my own I felt stupid or clownish. The extent of my make up is a bit of powder, some blush, maybe mascara? Sometimes eye liner, but I end up removing it because I feel stupid using it. I could never do it like other women I saw. Using make up has never made me feel beautiful, it always made me feel more insecure because I didn't feel like I was doing it right. I still don't know how to figure it out. Any time I've put on foundation all I see is chalky or streaky skin. If I apply any make-up nowadays it's a little eye shadow and maybe mascara. I've watched so many tutorials. Always feel the same, like I look , as you said, clownish. I suck at it so bad. :p
Rigora Z for foundation, try a beauty blender! No streaks and even coverage. I use the $5 ones from CVS (no way would I buy the expensive brand ones) and they work fine. You might also try a lighter foundation or bb cream. Rimmel's bb cream has about medium coverage compared to the lighter coverage other bb creams give you :)
I used to be TERRIBLE at makeup, so I just started practicing more, and more, and more. I would recommend getting some good quality makeup from Ulta (so you can return it) and just practice.
Sarah Jane I don't think I've ever had someone take the words so perfectly out of my mouth. Except you're even more risque than I am. I won't even go near power/blush/mascara. I feel like I'll just look straight up strange. even to this day, i still love this video, the skills you used here, and the message of it. There was this one guy (he's more of a basic boy who wear thrasher shirts but never skateboards before tbh) in my school and when me and the other girls were talking about makeup, he said "you know that boys like girls more without makeup right?" And i just don't get his point. I use makeup because it's fun to apply and it's also satisfying to look at the before-&-after effect. It also feels good to know that I look good. I hope people who, still to this day, makeup-shame others have the ability to understand the real reason WHY makeup lovers use makeup - i use it not to impress others, but to impress me.
He said it because he was raised to believe that your entire meaning to life should be to do everything you can to attract him or other guys. He is self absorbed and egotistical and cannot see beyond himself to understand that you wear makeup because YOU like it, because YOU want to. I would love to tell you that it gets better as men age, but I am nearly 30 and still hear the same line from men my age. Since that's the case, I say keep doing what makes you happy, because they sure as hell won't change anytime soon.

You know what's most crazy about this video? The fact that before she started with the make up, I couldn't find one flaw about her face. She was pretty, her skin was clear, her eyes were beautiful, and I wouldn't be able to find anything. But after she did the half make up side, you could begin to point out things about her natural side that was a problem like "oh yeah maybe her natural skin was a bit red and uneven/ blotchy. " or "yeah her eyes were plain" and I think that's what make up does, it creates problems in your mind about your natural state that were never there to begin with. Like comparing your natural beauty to and unnatural unattainable natural bold eye look will make you think you're not good enough when you are

Okinomi But if you don't like women who wear makeup, why care about the ones who do? For example, I do not find it attractive when guys have really short hair. There's a ton of guys with very short hair who likes it that way, and instead of ordering them to grow it out, I should just find someone who likes to have more hair, even tough there's less of them. I'm so glad about this, too! People always get really irate that I only use a light powder foundation and no liquid, because I'm doing it "wrong". Maybe it's not everyone's favourite thing to do, but it's what works best for me as it stops my pores from getting too clogged! You do you, who cares what anyone else thinks. ❤️

People always say "wow that looks like a lot of work" trust me, it isn't when you love it! I started watching tutorials on makeup when I was about 11 and I honestly fell in love with everything about makeup. I can't tell you why I love it, I don't put it on to impress anyone, I do it because it's fun and a way to express myself. I started wearing makeup at 12 and I'm now 16. Makeup is an art and it's okay to love it, and do it.

I started wearing at a pretty young age. I wore concealer, powder, and mascara. I didn't wear the powder much because it was too dark for my skin tone. It was my moms. I was with 2 of my friends and we had a sleepover. When we woke up we sat in the hallway and I heard her mom saying I wore makeup because I was insecure. But honestly, I love the way I look and when I look in the mirror I smile because I point out the beautiful things on my body and not the negitive. Some adults don't realize that I'm not doing my makeup because I'm Insecure... it's because I want to highlight those features that I love and make them pop. Everyone is beautiful in their own special way. 💕

i so resonate with the stuff at the beginning. i started to do my makeup pretty early, about fifth grade because i always saw others wearing it and i knew i already loved it. my mom didn't really like it and she thought it was weird. i remember she asked me one day why i do it when im naturally so beautiful (i hate when people say things like that tbh), and i told her "mom, i don't think you understand. i don't do my makeup for others, i do it for myself."
I always hear friends who don't care about makeup say things like, "This is my face, deal with it, I don't understand girls who wear a lot of makeup everyday." Well I do, and I love it. I go to cover my dark circles up in the morning and I just can't stop myself because I enjoy it so much. I feel more natural with makeup on because that's what I like doing, and going bare is against who I am.

I get teased all the time because I love makeup. It's a hobby, just like gaming, playing guitar, and drawing. They all take practice and all of them are things people enjoy. I hate when people assume I wear makeup for anyone besides myself. Some people ask me who I'm trying to impress, and the answer is always no one. I'm wearing this thick-ass winged eyeliner because I feel like it, not because I want someone to notice. As long as you're not hurting yourself or anyone else, you do you.

I wore powder and mascara to school one day and everyone came up to me and asked "are you wearing makeup?" So I felt insecure about wearing makeup to school until I watch this. I went to school with make up on and they asked the usual question "Are you wearing makeup?" I said "Yeah is there something wrong with that?" I started wearing makeup when I was 12 years old. Everyone in my school said I looked like a younger Dolly Parton and that I wore to much makeup. They said that I just wanted to show out and that I was trying to make myself look better. I wore it all! I wore foundation, powder, blush, eyeshadow, mascara and the darkest or brightest lipsticks you can think of. I just thought that it made me look pretty and that I just loved it. I love myself even more! I can go all week without makeup and not even think twice about it. Thank you for being such and inspirational person to all of us young ladies. Ladies, don't let everyone bring you down just because you want to look like "a younger version of Dolly Parton". It feels amazing when you do! I understand! Wow, this truly makes me want to learn how to use make up.. I've always shied away from it because it seems too difficult, and every time I tried it on my own I felt stupid or clownish. The extent of my make up is a bit of powder, some blush, maybe mascara? Sometimes eye liner, but I end up removing it because I feel stupid using it. I could never do it like other women I saw. Using make up has never made me feel beautiful, it always made me feel more insecure because I didn't feel like I was doing it right. I still don't know how to figure it out. This video is pretty incredible, though. Good job!

Any time I've put on foundation all I see is chalky or streaky skin. If I apply any make-up nowadays it's a little eye shadow and maybe mascara. I've watched so many tutorials. Always feel the same, like I look , as you said, clownish. I suck at it so bad. :p
Rigora Z for foundation, try a beauty blender! No streaks and even coverage. I use the $5 ones from CVS (no way would I buy the expensive brand ones) and they work fine. You might also try a lighter foundation or bb cream. Rimmel's bb cream has about medium coverage compared to the lighter coverage other bb creams give you :)
I used to be TERRIBLE at makeup, so I just started practicing more, and more, and more. I would recommend getting some good quality makeup from Ulta (so you can return it) and just practice.
Sarah Jane I don't think I've ever had someone take the words so perfectly out of my mouth. Except you're even more risque than I am. I won't even go near power/blush/mascara. I feel like I'll just look straight up strange. And it doesn't help that since I NEVER wear it, if someone I know actually sees me in it they're gonna make a huge fuss about it and it's going to make me even more insecure because I know they'll be focusing on it.

even to this day, i still love this video, the skills you used here, and the message of it.
There was this one guy (he's more of a basic boy who wear thrasher shirts but never skateboards before tbh) in my school and when me and the other girls were talking about makeup, he said "you know that boys like girls more without makeup right?" And i just don't get his point. I use makeup because it's fun to apply and it's also satisfying to look at the before-&-after effect. It also feels good to know that I look good.
I hope people who, still to this day, makeup-shame others have the ability to understand the real reason WHY makeup lovers use makeup - i use it not to impress others, but to impress me.
He said it because he was raised to believe that your entire meaning to life should be to do everything you can to attract him or other guys. He is self absorbed and egotistical and cannot see beyond himself to understand that you wear makeup because YOU like it, because YOU want to. I would love to tell you that it gets better as men age, but I am nearly 30 and still hear the same line from men my age. One thing that annoys me are woman who have a perfect skin complexion feel the need to say "i'm so lucky i don't have to wear makeup" and *bash* on other women who want to cover up their acne, scars, hyper pigmentation by making fun of them and calling them insecure.
The best part about Nikkie is she's absolutely fine with showing her bareface. There are some girls I know who tend to hide their faces when they are not making makeup and I think it's very unhealthy

You know what's most crazy about this video? The fact that before she started with the make up, I couldn't find one flaw about her face. She was pretty, her skin was clear, her eyes were beautiful, and I wouldn't be able to find anything. But after she did the half make up side, you could begin to point out things about her natural side that was a problem like "oh yeah maybe her natural skin was a bit red and uneven/ blotchy. " or "yeah her eyes were plain" and I think that's what make up does, it creates problems in your mind about your natural state that were never there to begin with. Like comparing your natural beauty to and unnatural unattainable natural bold eye look will make you think you're not good enough when you are

There's a ton of guys with very short hair who likes it that way, and instead of ordering them to grow it out, I should just find someone who likes to have more hair, even tough there's less of them. Numbers don't matter, you're only looking after 1 partner after all!
