The other day I went into the bathroom at school, to touch up my Mascara. Someone I know walked out of the stall, noticed I was putting on makeup, and said "who ya trying to impress?" I looked at her smirked, then said "myself". And then proceeded to walk away.

I started wearing at a pretty young age. I wore concealer, powder, and mascara. I didn't wear the powder much because it was too dark for my skin tone. It was my moms. I was with 2 of my friends and we had a sleepover. When we woke up we sat in the hallway and I heard her mom saying I wore makeup because I was insecure. But honestly, I love the way I look and when I look in the mirror I smile because I point out the beautiful things on my body and not the negitive. Some adults don't realize that I'm not doing my makeup because I'm Insecure... it's because I want to highlight those features that I love and make them pop. Everyone is beautiful in their own special way. 💕

Girls should never be shamed for wearing makeup! I used to wonder why other girls would wear so much makeup because I thought it was silly and stupid but now I understand. I'm so sorry! People always say "wow that looks like a lot of work" trust me, it isn't when you love it! I started watching tutorials on makeup when I was about 11 and I honestly fell in love with everything about makeup. I can't tell you why I love it, I don't put it on to impress anyone, I do it because it's fun and a way to express myself. I started wearing makeup at 12 and I'm now 16. Makeup is an art and it's okay to love it, and do it.

i so resonate with the stuff at the beginning. i started to do my makeup pretty early, about fifth grade because i always saw others wearing it and i knew i already loved it. my mom didn't really like it and she thought it was weird. i remember she asked me one day why i do it when im naturally so beautiful (i hate when people say things like that tbh), and i told her "mom, i don't think you understand. i don't do my makeup for others, i do it for myself."

I wore powder and mascara to school one day and everyone came up to me and asked "are you wearing makeup?" So I felt insecure about wearing makeup to school until I watch this. I went to school with make up on and they asked the usual question "Are you wearing makeup?" I said "Yeah is there something wrong with that?" Then they just walked away I felt way more confident and I started wearing more and more to school and people stopped asking questions. So thank you so much for this video❤️❤️😊

When guys do something they say it's for themselves (eg get a new car, new hair cut, ect) but when girls put on makeup boys say it's for them, I put makeup on in the night and just take it of after. This is because I love doing it. I may have my insecurities but most of the time when I put on makeup I do it because I love it. People say that my face looks Cakey and I did it wrong, but I don't care, I enjoy doing my makeup. I'm not trying to impress people.

Don't lie to yourself. People don't ride roller coasters just because they can, or they want too. Of course if you're riding a roller coaster it's because you wanted to, but that isn't the primary reason. You did it for the thrill, the excitement, and the adrenaline. There are reasons for everything. You either wear makeup because 1. You want to look pretty for yourself or others. 2. You're insecure and want to cover your insecurities. 3. You're pressured to because everyone else is doing it. Girls try to hide that they do it for the first or second reason. There's nothing wrong with the first one, it's great that you want to become more confident with yourself or others so you wear makeup. The second one and third are a bit iffy though. Anyways, the point is people don't do it just because they want to.

Hey, I LOVE makeup. It cracks me up that I can make myself look completely different in a matter of minutes. It's FUN. I understand where you're coming from, but you're wrong. I love changing things about myself, not because of "insecurities", but because I think it's funny, and weird. I enjoy it. I love who I am. And I love wearing makeup because. It's. FUN. Get it through your thick skull that not every girl or guy that wears makeup is so insecure that they just slap makeup on to make it through the day.

You know what's most crazy about this video? The fact that before she started with the make up, I couldn't find one flaw about her face. She was pretty, her skin was clear, her eyes were beautiful, and I wouldn't be able to find anything. But after she did the half make up side, you could begin to point out things about her natural side that was a problem like "oh yeah maybe her natural skin was a bit red and uneven/ blotchy. " or "yeah her eyes were plain" and I think that's what make up does, it creates problems in your mind about your natural state that were never there to begin with. Like comparing your natural beauty to and unnatural unattainable natural bold eye look will make you think you're not good enough when you are

Some of these comments (mostly by males) are so annoying and pointless. "You wear it for men but we don't like it, it's like a mask, it's a sham, it's a lie, accept your insecurities." You clearly aren't understanding the message behind this video. A women's face is exactly that, her fucking face! If she wants to conceal her whole face, add 3 layers of foundation, fill in her brows till they look like caterpillars, chisel her face with contour, throw in blush and highlighter, and throw on lashes that look like butterflies landed on her damn eyelids SHE CAN. I personally believe if you have something you don't like you can do whatever you want to do to manipulate it. We don't do it for men, I don't stand in the mirror thinking "man.. is he going to like this shade of lipstick??" Tf who actually has the time to care what every male they may encounter thinks about their looks? NO ONE.
PREACH IT GIRL. I personally don't wear tons and tons of makeup, but I put on enough so I can look good. I wear makeup for myself so I can look presentable and not like the walking dead. Never in my life have I touched a makeup brush to my face for the sake of a male's agreement.

I started wearing makeup when I was 12 years old. Everyone in my school said I looked like a younger Dolly Parton and that I wore to much makeup. They said that I just wanted to show out and that I was trying to make myself look better. I wore it all! I wore foundation, powder, blush, eyeshadow, mascara and the darkest or brightest lipsticks you can think of. I just thought that it made me look pretty and that I just loved it. I love myself even more! I can go all week without makeup and not even think twice about it. Thank you for being such and inspirational person to all of us young ladies. Ladies, don't let everyone bring you down just because you want to look like "a younger version of Dolly Parton". It feels amazing when you do! I understand!
