I have top-wide plates. American sapi's top width is around 5" meanwhile my plates are 7" wide at the top. I have one pair 3+ ceramic and one pair 3 lightweight pe plates like this so Ihave seen in the video that these plate carriers have some empty space around the top corners while your plate was inside. Do you think there is enough room at the corners like 1" per corner?
Thanks for the comment! My Ferro Concepts Slickster plate bags are "large" while the KRYDEX Low Viz plate bags are a medium. Ferro recommends Large SAPI, ESAPI AND SWIMMER PLATES up to 10.5"x 13.5"x 1". The space you see in the top corner of the Ferro is because the foam filler plates are medium size so they are smaller than the bags and therefore the space. I am likely going to get Hesco 4400 Large ( 10.25x 13.25 ) Level 4 plates for this Loadout. As it pertains to your plates I would assume you should have the clearance you need but honestly I'm not 100% certain as I myself am still learning about plate dimensions and how they relate to specific plate bags. I hope this helps.
Thanks for the comment! I assume you are referring to the quick clasps or Swift clips? If so then yes they can be removed. The Ferro Concepts Slickster comes without swift clips (You have to add them yourself). The Krydex PC comes with their quick clasps but they can be removed.
Question, does the krydex slickster comes same exact set up as their mk3 chest rig set up minus the straps for the rig? I was gonna order the rig for range days and classes. But if the carrier comes with the mk3 and what comes with the rig (minus the straps) I'll just order the carrier and the straps.
Thanks for the comment! Yes indeed it does! The Krydex/ Emmersongear low viz slick plate carrier come with the MK3 chest right (with inserts) as well as the clone of the SACK dangler pouch. You might be able to get the setup cheaper from Krydex's website but here is the link for the Emmersongear one on Amazon if you want to take a look and see what it comes with for yourself before pulling the trigger on it amzn.to/40hYlvz
@TacticalNewbie101 I got the gear already in the cart on krydex website. I was looking for reviews online when I came by yours. I bought their battle belt awhile ago for a cheap range belt and I was surprised at the quality and craftsmanship of it. I usually only run gucci gear like Hailey or high speed gear or crye, but when I got the krydex belt it made me question everything and now lookin at cheaper options to fuck around at the range or when I take a training class. Krydex so far is a solid chinesism clone company. Even thinking of picking up a set of their cammies and testing them out and see if they are good as crye g3's
Yea I absolutely agree and that was my main idea when I created the channel. Some of the chinesium gear out in the market is fairly comparable to the real Gucci gear for half the price. Now I wont ever say that these budget Chinese clones are better then the real Gucci gear but they at least at minimum offer an affordable option for the average Joe just starting out that can't afford to drop hundreds if not $1000+ on a full Gucci Loadout. Especially for those that do plan on going Gucci at some point. Having an affordable clone to train or take classes in will if anything help those people trying to figure out how to set up and run their gear, an cheaper option to experiment and then replicate that final setup over the real Gucci stuff.
@@TacticalNewbie101 I think the biggest difference between the real and clones is that the real ones come with warranties and the clones usually don't.
Very True. But generally in most cases unless you are using the gear in a legitimate war time or conflict environment or are playing some hardcore milsim events or training, the Gucci gear shouldn't fail unless it was a defect or QC massively went into the shitter for a specific manufacturer. Plus with the price of some of these budget clone options, in some instances you can buy 2 for the price it would cost a front and back plate bag from a Gucci manufacturer (depending on the manufacturer). Both the Budget and Gucci gear come with its own set of both good and bad things. It's really just a matter of what works best at the specific time with that specific person and environment they will be using the gear in.
Thanks for the comment and kind words! Because the Slickster and Krydex Low Viz Slick Plate Carrier both have no MOLLE attachment points on the back plate bags you gotta be a bit crafty when it comes to attaching a backpack Here is what I did to add a backpack. Hope this helps
I’ve had the krydex slick carrier for years and the only thread fraying I’ve hade are not even from the carrier but from the cheap shoulder strap neck guards that I added
Thanks for the comment! Krydex makes some awesome quality gear over all and was one of the reasons why I created the channel! I wanted to highlight some of the general misconceptions that all budget gear is not at bare minimum comparable to some of the high end Gucci gear and in some rare instances superior. I have been very impressed with the quality of Krydex overall.
Thanks for the comment. Full transparency, I have been putting a lot of the gear I feature through as hard use applications as I can provide at the moment (hikes, outdoor airsoft dry fire training, indoor dry fire training and some range training). I have some training classes lined up for 2025 so that will be a real true test. I have worn some of the gear at a few airsoft open play events but nothing past that at the moment. I do plan on getting involved in some milsim and team based airsoft events also in 2025. Hardest part at the moment is that I'm just one guy testing out a variety of gear so every piece is going to take some time to really see how they hold up But so far I have no complaints with the quality overall. I definitely would never make any attempt to claim any of this budget gear as being superior to its Gucci counterpart. But it does serve as a decent affordable option to get started training with at bare minimum.
These two plate carriers are exactly the same from the research that I’ve been doing. I’m going to get the keyed plate carrier with Haley pouches. I think that the plate carrier is definitely well made as long as you put good plate I’m sure the kryex carrier will hold up just as well as the Ferro concept carrier
Thanks for the comment! Absolutely spot on! I'm glad you did your own personal research to come to the same conclusion I did with mine. That's all I could ever ask for those people who assume that something "budget friendly" is a "worse quality". Obviously there are some examples of bad budget gear, but the Krydex carrier is no such example. Thanks again for the comment!
Thanks for pointing that out! It's Krydex! Here is the link for their page shop.krydex.com/products/krydex-low-vis-slick-plate-carrier I think they are out of stock at Amazon currently
I bought the Emerson one it suckes . Sent it back 10x12 level 3+ plates did not fit. The shoulder straps were terrible. Emerson is just a toy vest for airsoft. I was very disappointed thank God Amazon returns and refunds your money. For like 30 bucks more get the real thing.
Thanks for the comment and input! That's odd that your 10x12 level 3+ plates didn't fit. My 10x12 level 4 plates had no issues fitting in mine. What cut were the plates if you don't mind me asking? Can I ask a few questions to clarify? Do you have a Ferro Concepts Slickster or Spiritus Systems Lv119? I ask because the Emmersongear/ Krydex plate carrier is kinda a cross between those 2 carriers. The shoulder straps closely match the LV119 more then the Slickster but everything else basically matches the Slickster in design. Aside from the straps, what else was of terrible quality? As far as I'm aware with the hands on comparisons and research I have done (but I'm not an expert) both carriers are made from 500D codura and the elastic cumberbund material is also the same. The big difference more then anything is that you get an entire Loadout for the Emmersongear/ Krydex price of $119 vs paying $160 for the Ferro plate bags and cumberbund. If Ferro to you is the better option I certainly can't argue with that. I love my Slickster plate carrier. But to be fair, I have done a pretty extensive cross comparison of these products (multiple videos comparing Budget vs Gucci) and based on my personal research they are pretty close in quality overall. Thanks for the comment and input!
I have the Krydex version of the Haley chest rig and I’m super impressed with the quality. Of course I don’t have the Haley to compare.
That's awesome! I absolutely agree! Krydex does indeed make some great clone gear! Thanks for the comment!

Hell yeah! There’s so many knock off products on Amazon and so few reviews! Lots of potential views out there!!
For sure!!! So much potential!!
