I had a nearly dead string of pearls, sad for so long I bought a replacement (still held onto the original because the whole thing was shriveled and wrinkly but still green). I decided to stress it one last time to remove it from its pot and drill in a drain hole so I could bottom water it, which is exactly what it needed. It's plump and beautiful and finally putting off lots of new growth!

My Rex Begonias were struggling, not because of pests but from over watering. With the change of seasons, I have pulled all my plants from a West facing window under a grow light. With watching your video, I am going to spray them down with Neem oil & Castile Soap. I am also going to get some of that insecticide. If you like grey plants, check out the grey splash Pathos, really pretty and inexpensive.

I placed an order back in August for 2 Philodendron Camposportoanum, a Philodendron Silver Sword, a Philodendron Lemon Lime and an Epipremnum Pinnatum (regular green form). Instead of the Pinnatum I got a Monstera Acacoyaguensis, which that and all of the other plants came with a BAD case of root rot. The Acacoyaguensis and the smaller Camposportoanum had stem rot and the other plants were left with millimeters of roots left. I had to put them in moss in their own ICU Ziploc bags to try to save them, one Campo died but the others are doing great! They've all put out 2-3 leaves except the Acacoyaguensis that is putting it's first out in my care, but they are rooting really well!

glad you saved most of the plants you got in that order! sometimes when plants get shipped to me, they look awful which makes me scared to get more online LOL i try to just buy locally now

About 2 years ago I lost 49 plants to a knat and fungus infestation. I either brought it in from a new plant or I over watered. I tried different funguscides but the knats come back as soon as I watered them again. I've never seen any other bugs on my plants. Knock on wood. After lots of trial and error, what works best for me is a peroxide/water bath and a top covering of cinnamon. Apparently, the simplest solutions work sometimes. Now I think I have about 150 plants and propogations. Best of luck with your plants 🪴

Oh, man pests :(. They just never go away, I guess it’s part of being a plant parent. Still super annoying. I have a few random gnats flying around right now, and they like to try to fly up my nose or into my mouth lol. Cutest cat ever. ♥️😽

hoya compacta always gives me anxiety thinking stupid mealy bugs are hiding in the nooks and crannies LOL but then again, all my other hoyas have mealies so i really shouldn't even worry about that with the compacta haha

Yeaaah, currently have some kind of hoya lisa/tricolour bordvare that didn't do great in shipping so basically started dropping most of its leaves as soon as I unpacked it and it's down to one stem out of the original three that I think is still alive, the others dropped all the leaves... Also think I accidentally sunburnt part of my marble queen but that seems to be recovering now... Fingers crossed anyway!

Oh wow! the poor plants!! but i've definitely been guilty of doing the same thing in the past. it's part of the learning process of being a plant parent!

The white markings on the hoya may have been sun burn. Succulents tend to burn white when they have too much sun and unless you treated it with a fungicide, it'd continue to spread if it were a fungal problem. Either way, it's beautiful with or without mealies. 😂💚

Thanks for the info! i haven't moved or changed it's conditions so no idea how it got sun burnt LOL oh well, at least the new leaves are looking good!

I have a lot of Hoyas, most of them are doing very well. But my Hoya rotundiflora is doing nothing, I got this in June as a rooted cutting with 3 leaves and it did nothing. I don't know what to do. Maybe I need a cat . :)
