@@aliasdoneI don't know, it might be fun and/or scary to them to get to try to play the characters without a script. They probably haven't had a chance to do much of that at all.
@@kellyriddell5014 at least by now they all know their respective characters' backstories and motivations by heart. Arguably MUCH more than the average player does with a new PC. It should be easy to roll with e.g. "what would Lae'zel do?".

@@the8ofspades888 Well Sam is already there so the getting into Avernus was no problem, with Karlach part of the team again. It's the escape part that makes the quest.
But would our dear Narator play a Tav? or a new character from one of the hells that has grown tired of relaying messages to one of the local rulers?

BG3 I think is the first game I have seen where the VAs are getting so much visibility and love from everyone. Usually VAs just get enough attention to promo the game. But this feels different. And I am all for it.
I have the same impression. It must have been something really special for everyone who was involved in the creation of BG3, seeing as to how actively and lovingly the actors and some of the devs are communicating with the fans
It was the same with re village and Detroit become human. Neil was in those too. I agree though, I love seeing the people involved so enthusiastic!

Is it just me or does video game actors seem more down to earth than Hollywood actors
I'm just so happy that these actors are not looked down upon like they have been in the past. With the steady rise of games as a legit creative medium in the past 20 years, the prestige of working on a AAA game is now comparable to a blockbuster movie, as far as much of talent is concerned.
Is that supposed to be surprising? Not to discredit the amazing work by them, but Hollywood is a different league.

@@lyubomirkonstantinov7825 Almost certainly what the main point of it is. May do some other touch ups throughout, but Larian has already addressed lack of 'endings' and epilogue and seemed legitimately surprised by how passionate fans have been about them. Bet they got right to work fixing that up

Almost as if designers took a bit of each actor's features and added them to the chatacters' appearance. Subtle, yet noticeable likeness.

Their faces weren't mocapped for this actually. I assumed that they were too. Their faces were filmed and the artists took it from there. Body was mocap though.

Since BG3 is based on D&D, they could do something with that. Maybe do a show about a bunch of nerdy ass voice actors sitting around and playing Dungeons and Dragons. :D

A BG (or Faerun) movie in general seems like an easy money grab at the least, even if it's not related to the game (probably shouldn't be for that matter).
Obviously it would be good if it was _actually a good movie_ too though.
I feel like it should be a crime to have that many attractive and talented people all in the same room together... the natural order must have balance for crying out loud!

This game was all about the dialogue and interactions. I truly believe it is the most important game to have voice acted in ever. Legacy of Kain was a similar game in the earlier times
This needs more upvotes. Legacy of Kain was for me THE series that made me actually investigate who are the actors behind those characters, simply due to the amazing job they all did with their voices. Since then it has become a hobby.

When Astarion was first mentioned (before Early Access became available), my brain was reminded of Kain with the silverhaired vampire concept. Then, snagging the game on the very first day of EA, I was eagerly looking forward to eventually playing Astarion in full-launch... And then, getting to present, I could not help how I related too hard to both Kain's and Astarion's struggles; the desire to fight back against greater powers, reshaping destiny and the like.
Kain was my comfort character when I endured trauma in childhood, and seeing Astarion's story took me back to those days; I am now compelled to have my Durge help Astarion seek both revenge and redemption.
On top of everything, though, I now have two vampiric comfort characters from games with amazing writing! 💖

There is probably a good chance that some (or all) of them also did the mocap work for their characters, which would inevitably mean that the facial features of the characters may resemble their actors.

Thank you, all, each and every one, for doing the most outstanding voice-acting I've experienced, for what is one of the two greatest games I've experienced (BG II being the other).
Best voice cast this year hands down, dunking on all that triple A cash grabs. Games born from passion is where it's at - not the games born from greed.

His background (both the folk hero part and his lineage) along with his intro scene, all scream "protagonist". Hell, an animated spin-off series with him and Karlach would be epic!

All the various dialogue in this game is such a great motivation for multiple playthroughs. Currently wrapping up my third playthrough sometime this week hopefully

Lot of the BG3 content whether it's just cutscenes or people reacting or talkimg about it has gotten me to the verge of the tears recently. The game's just so beautifully executed in all the aspects that it alone makes me emotional, empathising with others also experiencing it for first times and discovering new things, it all makes me feel warm and fluffy inside.

This game seriously has some of the best voice acting in any game i played. The main cast of course but literally every character you can tell a great deal of care was put into ever line written no matter how small the character. Speaking to highly sophisticated animals with a better vocabulary than me makes my day!
