ivypool and bristefrost!! i honestly wasn’t phased much at all over bristlefrost’s death… it was ivypool’s reaction that really got me. seeing her hurt and broken despite her bold and daring personality really aches a lot. sort of like briar’s death in a sense. since i really love ivypool, i figured i could whip up a pmv :)

This is really good!! Bristlefrost’s death was one of few i got emotional over and yeah i agree Ivypool’s reaction hits harder than the actual death scene. It made me cry harder when I read the book for the first time

I read Bristlefrost's death and almost wrote a fan-book on her not being dead, but instead waking up on a shore to another cat's prodding, where all the cats from the Dark Forest go when they die again or fade. I'm hoping at least her spirit is found somehow (Have yet to read A Starless Clan series). Rootspring didn't deserve that
I'm late to the party but this pmv is so powerful. Like what others said Ivypool can't ever see her daughter again, and lost her to the place Ivypool tried so hard to defeat. I hope in Ivypool's SE we see Fernsong's grief too because he lost a daughter too! Plus Ivypool would need the support of her kin after losing a kit. She's such a strong cat but even strong individuals need support sometimes. I agree with your opinion in the desciption as well; the most powerful thing about Briarlight's death (imo) was how Jayfeather broke down for I think the first time in the series- that we know about- to the point he couldn't even talk. I must be a fictional sadist because I love when writers/animators/etc can so perfectly capture grief. BTW I love your Bristlefrost design, so pretty
Thank you! And yeah I hope her Super Edition does her justice. A lot of the SEs have been disappointing lately so I’m kind of scared to see what they might do to her as she’s one of my favorites. It’s really just devastating to lose your close family to something you ran away from for the majority of your life and that concept as a whole is underrated in the community
