    I'm the worst for procrastinating! I can visualise going for a run or ride, I know I'll be feeling much better afterwards. But the thought of going out in the cold, grotty weather puts me off at least 80% of the time! I've tried to change it this year and have been doing circuits on the heavy mountain bike to build strength and resilience and hopefully it will make the road bike easier when it comes out of hibernation. Signed up for the Garmin New Forest ride at the end of May too so I have something to aim for.

      I hear you Ady, very similar to me. I do go to the gym and do a lot of HIIT training or at a minimum a lot of walking. Seems to keep me in check but I do hear you, cycling is tough when the weather is rubbish, it’s also the other stuff that comes with that, the right clothing, the prep, the cleaning up etc. looked at the garmin ride, is that just road or gravel?? 🤟🤟

      @therookiecyclist It's a road event. Usually in Aug but moved to the end of May bank holiday weekend this year. Excellent event, well organised and the New Forest is a great place to ride. Lots of other influencers attend too, along with the odd pro/ ex Pro / celeb. Includes breakfast, a jersey and a meal afterwards too usually.

    I do not use dustcapa on my summer bike, but leave them on my winter bike as the valves seem to get proper filthy.
    Crazy the parks police are gone, the country gets more and more lawless all the time. I should use supplements but to be honest I don't I should look into using them.
    Cannot believe you are on episode 99 😮 Anything special planned for the hundredth?

    • @therookiecyclist

      Actually I do leave them on my winter bike, the caps not the nuts!! The police haven’t gone yet they are in danger of going though, there’s a petition you can sign to try and help stop it though!!
      I need to do something for episode 100 for sure, any reccos? Haha it’s gone super quick I know that!! Cheers mate 🙏🤟

    Always dust caps 👌 the roads are so poop in the chilterns in the winter I'm sick of cleaning my bike after every ride , I starting doing 5/10k runs instead in the week and bad weather , means iv only got to clean myself 😂

    • @therookiecyclist
      @therookiecyclist  20 часов назад

      I have realised I do leave them on my winter bike actually. I hear you on the cleaning, it’s graft I could do without to be honest and you’re bang on with the running, it’s the same for me with HIIT/gym in and out and you’re done 🤣🤟

    Excellent content Ben ive been using the creatine HCL tablets 2 a day every day for around 18 months as no bloating compared to the powder definitely improved my performance plus due to living around Cwmbran south wales dont have any concerns with riding or the police same as you do you see the police these days keep the videos coming.

    Tried creatine last year on the back of a gcn video I watched. Cannot say I felt any benefit throughout.
    This year this week onwards I'm trying collagen from an age and health perspective from what I've read.
    No dust caps on road bike and gravel bike but screw for tubes left on.
    Cannot cut police funding for our Royal Parks.
    Have you completed the Royal Parks annual survey? Came out on the 5th.
    Reports of suspicious behaviour near Roehampton Gate again.

    • @therookiecyclist
      @therookiecyclist  20 часов назад +1

      Hey Joel, I do take Collagen every day too, seems to have helped with the joints and a few other things too!! Do you know what type of Creatine you took? Monohydrate is the best one but yes if it didn’t work for you then fair one.
      A real shame about the parks police if it happens, I did sign the petition yes and I have heard rumours about bike thefts and trouble near Roehampton gate again yes. Really really worrying. Any idea if the Royal family own the parks still?? 🤟🤟

      @@therookiecyclist I think the Parks are run by charities.
      The creatine I tried last year was Optimum Nutrition Micronised Creatine Monohydrate 317g from Holland and Barrett.
      The creatine I've bought is from Bulk unflavored but with vitamin c

    3-5g Creatine everyday for me dude. Lots of reported evidence over long time as to its benefits. Including brain health/Alzheimers so not just building strength.
    Parks police gone, just becomes even more open to hotspot for the moped machete crews.
    I leave dust caps on tubeless valves

    • @therookiecyclist
      @therookiecyclist  20 часов назад

      Ahh I didn’t know about the brain health side I’ll have to look into that more, you take Monohydrate creatine? Just need to make sure you’re staying hydrated when on it too right?
      Agree on the moped gangs, it’s worrying!!
      Dust caps on tubeless makes a bit more sense I’d say!! Plus you do a lot of mucky rides too haha cheers Kristian 🤟🙏

      @ yep creatine mono. Just the powder. Mix it in to a pint of juice/water/orange every morning.
      Coach recommended.
      None of this expensive gummy sillyness.
      Naturally drink a lot in training anyway.
      Tubeless valves are more stylised. But also have an emergency valve core removal tool in one the caps.
      But yeah mtb, keeps things cleaner.
      I also tend to mix and match valve and cap. Electric blue valve, pink cap 👌

    Dust caps off for the aesthetics, oh please 🙄. Do you take them off your car, I'm guessing not, there you go then. Shitty wheel decals on the other hand........ Nice vid, keep 'em coming fella.

      🤣🤣🤣 I know 🤦🏼‍♂️ to be fair though i do think it looks better without and it hasn’t caused me any issues (yet, gulp) famous last words 🤣
      Shitty wheel decals hahahaha, I have to say I’ve not been tempted to try them. Thanks as always mate 🙏🤟🤟
