I’m the wrong side of 50 as well and watching your channel gave me the confidence to fit a honeycomb grill ( bumper off ) to my A4 Avant and a front splitter! Jesus I’ve never drilled into my cars bodywork before! Love the channel Matt 👍🏻
Never understod why you would put original-car center caps on non original wheels, just looks like you have some replica/budget wheels. Unless you actually do, then I would understand haha
@@LLB.13 I just think unless they are like bbs, work, etc most after market wheels caps looks tacky. And I feel bmw makes so many different styles of wheels it can work most of the time

@@TheMkBroadcast Originality, Not cheap shit body kits, M140i is aggressive, fuck me what do you want, mini guns and a 40inch naval gun on the bonnet, ffs 🤣
It's hard to know without seeing it in the metal whether it looks ok with the back end left as is. My feeling is that it will look too nose heavy. This might be an unpalatable idea, but if making the rear wider is too difficult then perhaps the answer is to see if the manufacturer of the m2 style back bumper do a front grill and bumper, and go back to standard front wings.
Stick with it as it is as its a nice balance and once you get the front wheels spaced correctly it will look awesome. The wheels look absolutely fantastic, great choice.
The new M2 bumper looks great, I wouldn't try and finish the wide body treatment. It won't work out to well from a backyard do it yourself. Love the content, keep it up👍👍🇦🇺
I think this might be one of the most enjoyable MA videos I’ve watched. Combination of plenty of content in one video, plus you’re stepping out of your comfort zone once again with this one but to top it off the detail and description in this video just trumps all the others. This is why we all subscribe to this channel, because it’s like no other. Massive fan, keep doing what you’re doing Mat! 🤙🏼
Mat my personal opinion is that it looks amazing with just the M2 style bumper fitted. Once it’s wrapped all the one colour it will look even better, them rear arches are a LOT of work! As you’ve said yes it needs spacers on the front 😁
Love the idea and can't wait to see how it looks as you progress it. Will be great to see you learn some new skills doing some bodywork stuff. Those new alloysook great against the dark colour of the paint. Think you need to stay with a dark wrap when you so the colour change. Maybe a really dark midnight blue or something. A great idea for one of your builds would be to try your hand at a dip your car paint job. Would name great content and so many colour combos available. Plus if it goes wrong you can just peel it off. Win win
Heyo mat! Love your content! Just a small piece of advice coming from a mechanic, whenever you got suspension work and get bolts undone, when you tighten them back in place, you have to lift the suspension with a jack or something to get them in their "working" position otherwise you risk damaging the rubber bushings by twisting them.
I say leave it how it is , get the exhaust custom made , wrap it a nice colour, and get the front wheel spacers on to make the wheels look nice and snug
Jeez you have taken me right back to the Max Power days, absolutely love it! Who said the 90's days of modifying were dead! Amazing content, absolutely amazing content! Thank you for reviving modifying!
I'd leave the rear as is - stance looks great. Deffo looks better being a narrower body, quite understated. I'd say get another 2 of the 9j rear offset wheels on the front - will look much better than spacers and will have similar geometry issues so no difference there. Otherwise might be worth looking at the M2's lower arm/tension arm situ, as I can't see BMW building an entirely new front subframe just for the M2 - much more likely to change the geometry through the arms etc. Only a guess though!
Go for it. Attempt it Mat, you have to for the channel, for the greater good. Do the rear door first, and if needs filling in or cutting whatever, before you cut or fill any of the body panel. And see how it looks with the door done and the rear quarter just taped on. If it looks sh8t you can just get a door easy and reverse it.
Mat Am angry coz I have been waiting for so long to tune in , but finally am on. also my wife she was asking me " are you mad coz u r waiting too long to tune into mat cars " 😂😂😂😂😂all love man all the way from south africa
And again I really liked todays video! I‘d stick with the quarter panel. I think the M2 style rear bumper looks pretty good combined with the M2 front end. The Bilstein coilovers are not low enough as expected. My friend got B14‘s on his F56 Mini JCW and I didn‘t liked it. to high, to firm, to rusty after some time.. he wasn‘t pleased too. I bought KW v1’s, fitted them to mine and loved it. More low in the rear, spacers in the front, nice color and some wild performance mods. - perfect M140i 💙
Go for it Mat that's exactly what this channel is all about, you know you will love it after lol. But I would have to do something with the sideskirt after so it's in-line
For me Matt, thank god you didnt do Option 3 on this one. As most have commented so far, the rear bumper add on looks great and all you need is the exhaust and wrap. But thats not you and why we keep coming back, let the journey on this build progress with the highs and lows we live together on all your builds and watch the transformation to the stunning results you always pull off.
I think uu can pull this one off Mat.....uu have already blown our minds countless times and made such beautiful cars...so what's stopping uu from making this one work
Wouldn't do the rear arches, looks like a pain with little in the way of benefits, i imagine it wouldn't last 5 minutes, would look off, and when closing the doors make weird noises, not to mention any wind noise from turbulence when driving, the hollow spaces will be a nice water trap or somewhere for Fievel to nest. In my head all i can see is some shitbox Saxo from the Max Power days, with some horrible looking fibreglass wide arch kit on it. I'd just space the front wheels now, but i'd have probably bought front wheels in the correct offset in the first place to prevent using spacers. Your car though so do what you wish, i imagine fitting bad mods will always make good content, Evil GT make a habit of fitting mods that ruin cars on purpose then joke about it afterwards.
Mate your almost on 250k subs!!! Crazy. I was here when you were on 25k subs!!! Well done mate you have consistently put togther good fun content and you have a lovely style. Plus Hannah is fit.
I'd suggest going for the wide arch kit. That fella with the wide arch 3dr 140i has posted in the 140 FB pages and it looks beastly! Noone's done it in the UK, so why not be the first and possibly only one... and it'll help getting a wider tyre once you most definitely start pushing serious power!
I would revaluate the wheel width and offset. Your going to need a wide spacer for front and some for the rear when you figure that out. Speaking of the rear have you considered pulling the rear fenders?
I think the way it looks now is the best. it is clean and looks OEM. putting that other kit on the back side will become a nightmare of fightment and it will look Awkward in the end. you just need the front wheel spacers. Then I would put the money into the exhaust and engine mods. looks really nice.
I think the idea is deffo worth a go. Looks like a lot of precise work will be needed. I’m sure you can give it a go but I think for the finish another apprenticeship might be in order. Not that I’m doubting your skills. Deffo don’t leave it standard. Great work and loving the vision 👍
Love how much you get done in each video. None of this 'here's a 20 video of me milking a wheel change' 😅 as for the way forward with the rear, if you think you can pull it off with some help, go for it, unique content but may end up taking serious time and money to pull it off with little content for the investment, at the end of the day we're all just here for the ride, we'll go which every direction you take us 😀 keep it the great work and content 👌

Amazing project! However it needs the oem m2 side skirts installed first since they can act as a guide for the fitment of the rear quarter panels. Also there is no need for the doors to be modified because bmw avoids it as well (for example both the m3 e46 touring concept and the f80 m3 have wider rear arches and keep the exact doors from their respective regular 3ers).
Top work as usual! Just a thought with those panels. Instead of blending them in to the rear doors and wing, why not make a feature of them like a Mini GP3? Tailor them and stand them off the wings. I think it would look unique then. Hope this helps.👍👍
Mat, the rear end already looks perfect but the add-on rear arches might look pretty good if your happy to use a wheelbarrow full of body filler. (If I was lucky enough to become the next owner) I would prefer that it was kept standard, but with a wicked set of rear twin tail pipes it should look awesome either way buddy! 😊😊
