Start with filtered water, or well water. We do not want any chlorine.
Use Morel Mushroom pieces(spores) you are not going to eat.
1 Tsp salt
1/2 cup Karo Syrup
1 cup Flour
Blend them up nice. Kind of looks like a milkshake
If you want to spread this farther, divide between buckets, top odd with non-chlorinated water.
Spread around the area you want to test.
I like to cook them in butter with Drakes

My favorite time of year
How I cook them!
I cut them in half and soak them in mild salt water for about 15 minutes.
Then roll them in dry Drakes Crispy Frymix
Put them in a pan and cook in butter until they are as crispy as I like them.
I usually have to flip them once or twice.

These work pretty good also but with patience.
Pretty cool!! See ya in a year John!😁 ya get any grapes off those vines? Thanks for sharing! Have a great weekend brother, you all stay safe!!👍🍻👊🍺
Show up anytime my friend. There will be cold beers and we will make some wings. There will be grapes in the fall. Have a good one and thanks for watching!
@@jklivinlife 😁👍🍻
John, we need that update! 😂
We grew some, but not not as many as we had hoped. We wanted the moon, but did not get there. We got a dozen or so, but we did grow them.
I've got 5 acres of morel forest in my backyard anyway so look forward to boosting my harvests...think ill wait until im a day away from rains coming. Wonder if adding Yeast nutrients could supercharge fungal takeoff like it does for brewing.
It may be worth trying on a small patch first to see. Good luck.
Happy mushroom hunting John I can't wait to see what happens!!!!!!
Me either PaddyJoe. Thanks for watching
Hey John, I found like three mushrooms in my normal area in the woods by the Popo treason and it’s really close to water. We used to find a new every year but ever since the tornado it’s really not good anymore. Other trees started growing up in there, so it’s thicker. Did you have another video after you poured your slushy on your wife’s flowers or bushes? Or is that a video yet to come?
I've seen dozens of these slurry videos but very few of the results the next year.
Well, we have gotten some morels from the slurry. We know because of the locations of use, but true, we are not collecting pounds of these. If that were the case then nobody would have to go to the woods. Growing morels is not easy. Thanks for watching!
Hello John KERN, this is Scott KERN from Wadena Minnesota Ave. We’re having troubles with morels ever since our tornado ruined the woods we picked him and I just watch the video where you mix them together with flour in good water, but what was the results after you planted them in your wife’s plants.?? I had an idea of mulched wood along my garage all the way around if I poured it in there, would mushrooms grow there. Do they need to get sunlight and how many hours
Hello Scott Kern! Most of the mushrooms that I was able to grow were in not overly sunny areas. I was able to get more to grow in the yard than in the flower beds. I did not make slurry last year so did not have any mushrooms this year. This year I was so busy I did not even go hunting at all. I need to restart the sequence. Good luck growing yours. Thanks for watching.
What time of year best to pour slurry around my property. Alabama
I usually make it in the spring after getting some morels and using them for the slurry. Thanks for watching.
I have tried this before with very little success, so I; am going with a new way of making a slurry mix buy making a slurry mix with LC that I have made from a Yellow Morel that grows on my farm, all you need to do is smash up one morel in a zip lock bag to the point that it is just mush in the bag, then add some of this mush to 250Ml. of distilled water with one tablespoon of Karo syrup and 1/4Tsp. of Malt Extract in a pint jar with a syringe filter in the lid for gas exchange then after the LC grows for a week or two it then will be add to 4gal.'s of distilled water in a 5gal bucket that has 16 times more Karo and Malt Extract for 2 weeks to colonize before I add the last gal. of distilled water. Once a day you will need to shake the LC until it is added to your Morel bed.
Wow, sounds awesome. I have not had a ton of success either. Please let me know how this turns out for you. I would definitely be interested in hearing how it worked and giving it a try myself. Thanks!
You also mention that you have a farm. Is this a morel farm? How well do they grow? What type of soil are you planting in?
@@jklivinlife I have been growing oysters and making LC for over 4yr.s now and I also belong to a mushroom group for beginners & experts where a friend suggested trying it. I did grow some Cup Morels last year from LC that Lenny Rockwell Sr. gave me to try to grow. Will not brag but I, am the first person to ever grow them.
@@jklivinlife 40Acre farm with rolling hills and timber ground where the wild mushrooms grow. LOL and I have a morel bed that I have been working on with a nonnutritive soil made up from 50% organic compost, 30% organic soil and 20% white sand in a greenhouse covered with an 80% UV netting instead of the clear plastic.
@@jamesmaske2710 What is the recipe you used?
Any update on how effective this was?
Sure thing. I have gotten a few year after year, but not if I don't keep the slurry going as well. Just have to be persistent. Good luck. Lemme know how it works for you.
Doesn't the blender chop up the spores? thanks
If it chops em in half, then there are 2 times as many, right? :) Thanks for watching.
How much surp an floor do you use what kind of floor
I used regular baking flour since I had it. Basically just as a binding agent. About a tablespoon ish of syrup. Good Luck!
Use organic brown rice flour
@@Morninglight2323 I will try that out.
Cover it with wood chips that havent been treated or straw.
Will have to try that. Thanks for watching!
Well, how did it go? Just found this video and says "posted 1 year ago"?!
We did grow some but not what we had hoped. We have been trying for years and it seems we get results 1 to 2 years in a spot that has been planted
Did it work?
It did. Thanks for asking. I did not get quite as many as I hoped for, but did grow some. Thanks for watching
I dont think ive been able to keep morels around long enough for them to start growing spores lol
Haha, true. They are so good. Thanks for watching
Any updates?
They should be popping soon. About to warm up around here.
Well how did the caps treat you?
I was able to grow some, but nowhere near what I was hoping for. Thanks for watching!
@@jklivinlife some? Like 5, 10, 20? You gotta give better information then that people have waited a long time for those results also.
@@jerodyoumans6002 I got between 10 and 15 small
@@jklivinlife ok, that’s a nice start!
Just wondering in the past did any fertiliser be used In Those areas , could have an impact or maybe new location to try. 👍
So..... did it work?
Yepper. Did not grow as many as I hoped but did have success
Next year update plzzz sir
Yepper. Sure thing. Want to make more slurry this year but have had no time
Update?
For sure worked. Night quite as many as I had hoped, but all in all I did get them to grow in my yard. Have to "re-seed" every year to keep em every year
Any updates on this method yet?
Works great. Got some morels. Not as manybas I hoped, but did get some. You have to redo every year
@@jklivinlife well at least you found some. I’m finally trying out a couple different slurry methods right now after talking about doing it for years now so hopefully in the next couple years I’ll be seeing some growth. Thanks for the update!
@@RacinJosh72 No probs. I wish you well. Hope you get a ton more than I did.
How many did you get ❓
@@anthonymaguire3709 We got a dozen or so. No where near what we were hoping for.
Is there a result video?
There are a couple videos of me finding them in the yard. Lemme know if you can't find on my channel and I'll send the links
I hope that was brown rice flour/ unprocessed, cause you just gave them bad nutrients and bleach.. 😢
It was not. I may try that next time. Good luck with yours. Thanks for watching.
