I loved your humor on this video!!! I live in the northern lower peninsula of Michigan and was walking next to my garage and there was a morel mushroom right against the garage. I walked all around and didn't find any more in that area. I don't care for mushrooms so I kept it in the refrigerator for 2 days and then threw it out. I have to admit, I have never tried morels.
I love to have follow up on this. I have successfully grown mushrooms in my backyard, but there is a big factor that I can tell you about Huge, huge breakthrough that I’ve had Unexperienced go around with that variable, including another variable that I just came to realize the Chinese are using in their successful Morel cultivation
We supposedly have tons of morels in our area, but I've been to find on my expeditions are ticks. I'm going to give this strategy a try next year. Thanks.
Axe body spray "Twist" is the scent . It works really well for ticks. Or just self with baby powder right out of the shower. I know both are effective for ticks
Axe maybe changed the name of the Twist spray it was a citrus scent that changed its scent after 4 hours and lasts for 8 hours. The change of the scent and being citrus is a description of in case the name is different. I have not seen it in 7 years or so. Works much better than any bug spray or off or deep woods or repel none work as good as the axe. The dark temptation scent will not work for nothing. Only Twist scent
Makes me wonder why dig the ground and go to so much fuss , mushrooms sprinkle there spores into thin air and that’s it , where ever the spores go is where they grow .
Where in AR. I'm North Central and sure would like to get some hunting done with someone else who knows what is happening. Can't get my kids to go. It's just a mushroom they say. They don't know nothing
Be sure to collect and use rainwater or filtered water because it doesn't contain chlorine. Pouring unfiltered tap water (or water from your garden hose) over the bed could kill the spores.
@@GreatLakesPrepping awesome. Years ago on my first attempt at utilizing the slurry method, i worked my but off spreading spores like Johny spreads apple seeds. Unfortunately I ignorantly used tap water later to discover that by having done so i had killed my spores along with my chances of success. So i figured that was great practice lol. Question how late in the year can you find morels where you live?
It's not quite morel season here yet, so there's nothing to report on so far. I'm already keeping an eye on the area just in case, but I don't expect I'll see anything for a little bit. And that's if anything comes up at all. It can take anywhere from 1 to several years before they come up for the first time. I'm definitely hoping I see something though.
Success or fail for your experimental morel inoculation? Please let us know if worked. I inoculated last spring multiple location on my property using same morel spawn, my own inoculated spores and morel slurry produced from some morel wild picked mushrooms. No signs of morels until today. I am so curious if anyone succeded on this experimental cultivation of morels🤓
@@GreatLakesPrepping ok, Tx. I’ll keep eyes peeled on my beds too. So curious if any movement will take place this spring.🤓. BTW I am in south east Pennsylvania, and I have no idea when is the best time to look for morels on my area,… early spring, late spring…
@@ted4730 They say it's between late April and mid-June (in Michigan anyway). It's probably similar for PA. Still a pretty big window of time. It seems to correlate to when the temps are ideal, and how dry/wet the spring is. They say when the temps dip into freezing at night, but into the 50s or 60s during the day is often ideal. And also if it's not a super dry spring. It's been pretty darn wet here so far.
I'm planning to post an update. It's not quite morel season yet, so there's nothing to report so far. I've already started checking the area though, and hopefully I will see something pop up before too long.
Here is the one year follow-up for the morel spawn bed: ruclips.net/video/xT9qvd7FBoc/видео.html

Wow did you ever miss out on something wonderful. The french use them in beefsteak recipes. You'll never taste anything better!!!😉
I love to have follow up on this.

Huge, huge breakthrough that I’ve had

Hey Great Lakes! This is going to be awesome if it works! Best of luck to you and thanks for the video. God bless.

Thanks for the diy. I hope you get lots of Morels. Looking forward to seeing your follow up video. 🤞
Thanks Rachelle. Springtime can't come soon enough!
Nice video! This is all new to me I didnt think it was possible to cultivate morels.
Thanks! There are no guarantees with morels, but some people have success in doing it. I'm still waiting to see if anything pops up this year.
interesting video, hope you get tons of morels.:0)
😊
Have you seen the video about cultivating morels in the urban reclamation project in Missouri?
Any updates this season for your morel bed!?
Makes me wonder why dig the ground and go to so much fuss , mushrooms sprinkle there spores into thin air and that’s it , where ever the spores go is where they grow .
Come to Arkansas. I'll take you to some epic mushrooms locations

Very informative experience
This dude hilarious.
Don't forget to follow up on the morels this year.
Definitely! It's a little early yet, but I've already been keeping my eye on it just in case.
Someday scientists are going to realize that morel mushrooms are sentient organisms and only grow exactly where they want to. 😁
That's why they try to replicate their environment as close in detail as possible
well did it work its that time of year
THAT LAST WATERING LOOKED PRETTY CLEAR TO ME, HOUSEWATER [WITH CHLORINE] I ASSUME, YOU SAID THAT WOULD KILL YOUR SPORES/MASH DIDN'T YOU?
Be sure to collect and use rainwater or filtered water because it doesn't contain chlorine. Pouring unfiltered tap water (or water from your garden hose) over the bed could kill the spores.
How did this turn-out it did it work out
Anxiously awaiting to find out. Morel season is probably another couple months away still.
Did they start growing?
How did it go?
Good luck.
Are you helping people with a place to get out of the city? I am looking for people to relocate with.
Did anything come up?
Part 2?
Firstly great video. Very informative and to the point. (Appreciated!) . quick question Where did you get that water?
Thanks James. I got the water from one of my rain barrels.

Depending on the temperatures, rain, and other factors, the season can stretch into June.
Any updates?
ok did any pop up this spring
Not yet. I'm checking it daily, but morel season can pretty much be anywhere between April and June.
Lo llegastes a conseguir???

Don’t lose hope even a legally blind man can find them if the spot is hot and perfect weather, maybe I just got a good spot

@@GreatLakesPrepping thanks for the update
lol you're funny. my eyes are... bad also

In other words, you have not successfully grown morels when you made the video.
BAD 😆😆😆😆😆
hmm ok.
Very cool
