I used to play it on the Amstrad PC1512, the theme music was surprising good out of the PC speaker. I remember there was a crew member who had a problem with superiors and she was the one to choose. I also remember the way to win was to come to a full stop for each attack so you didn't get swamped by enemies.
The stop/go method worked pretty well, but then again your cargo would melt into mush. If I remember correctly, the crew member you're talking about was in the repair department, Bru? I personally preferred the Droid one in that slot, but she was a good choice.
Having just started playing through the officially released and undated version of the Bards Tale, I'd love it if they'd do an updated PSI-5 with more missions and features. But alas the Retro remake is all that I could find, and it's a damn good one, even if it's not quite finished, and has a few bugs (I noticed that your battery never stops powering everything, even if it runs down to 0% for example). I highly recommend it for a cool bit of nostalgia.
The fifth link in the description above takes you to the website where I downloaded the update. It's such a good game, still pretty darn addictive now.
I've got the Angel RPG, so will be covering that sometime soon, and have Retrostar, so will do those. I've not got the Firefly RPG, but have already covered the Serenity one, which is pretty similar. The others aren't in my collection, so I'm not likely to cover them anytime soon.
I've memories of it being a bit more limited, but there doesn't seem to be much in it, it was a multiload wasn't it? Where you chose the team, the mission, then the game loaded.
@@RPGGamer If you died I think you had to rewind the cassette tape back to the start or near to and I think that was a major turn off. This is like ancient history and my memory if hazy. It's like asking my grandad if he remembers Winston Churchill's 1944 Christmas radio speech.
Whom are you taking to? Those who did played it... or those who play it now? I suggest those who did play it.... My nephew will NEVER play it.. the graphics 'aint good enough for him.
Well that's a pity, I made the video deliberately for your nephew, while I ate mayonnaise from the jar with a spoon and watched him sleep. Seriously, I made the video to talk about something I love, something which I've enjoyed returning to for around 40 years. Didn't realise I had to be talking to someone in particular, I just thought I was talking to anyone who was interested in watching, probably mainly people who remembered the game.

Thank you for a good review and informative video. I didn't realize that they had remade this, going to have to download it and give it a go!

Please don't tell us where to find the remake...
It's listed in the video description above. It's the one at the bottom below all my other links.
I apologize. I did look at the description, but for some reason I didn't notice it. Now I feel dumb. :)
@@lurkerrekrul No problem, I probably should have put it at the top.
