To anyone here thinking of buyint the 700 Pro X: Do it. I've owned a pair since the very first day they were available in the market, use they daily, and they still look fresh out of the box. The sound is amazing, still on the same pads and the comfort is unmatched.
@bananawarlock3981 I really want to get one but I'm hesitant because of the emphasized trebles. I really dislike sibilance and bright highs so I am leaning more towards the AKG K371 right now. What is your take?
@@bananawarlock3981 Thanks a lot for your response.I checked out some frequency response graphs and saw the AKG had a lower response on trebles but not by a far margin. I just find brights and trebles to be fatiguing for my ears. People always say Beyerdynamic headphones have piercing highs. Do you think that the DT 700 is normal?
This is how every review should be done! Thanks a lot for this, I finally have a firm decision. I really respect how you let us hear them side by side. What a setup you have going on recording the output from them! Update: I got the headphone and I have been using it for almost 2 months. Best headphones I ever owned in terms of clarity. Perfect for music producers. It was fluid switching to it and using it with the Behringer UMC 22 audio interface.
Thanks for the update! Glad that confirmed my decision from this video. I spent last 40 hours becoming a nuclear scientist in audiophile headphones and based on everything, my needs and reviews, (and obviously budget), this is what I came to. :) Thanks!
Was going to get the 770s I have now changed my mind and getting the 700 pro x I have senstive ears and the extra comfort alone is worth it also I like the ohms setting and etachable cables cheers from Scotland.
I got them almost immediately after release. The head band peeled off in the first couple of months. The plastic that holds the metalic band for the right cup broke (more like shattered) after a light 40cm fall. The left one broke just this week. After disassembling it, I was shocked how thin the plastic is, also the blend of plastic is very brittle. Take off the head band, and look underneath, 50% chance your plastic is already cracked.
Seems to be a common issue, my headband peeled off after a couple months too, granted i do use it like 10+ hours a day non stop. I noticed the headband was only attached by a single drop of glue in the middle, i ended up just superglueing it instead of being a replacement headband
Just came across this wonderful review. Hearing it on my 4-year-old DT 770 Pros and I can definitely tell the differences between the sound representation of both the headphones, kinda of an ode to how good the 770s already are. May not upgrade just yet, but will definitely be recommending the 700 Pro Xs to my mates. P.S Don't worry about handling the Beyerdynamic's roughly, these things are built like a tank.
Got mines for about a year now. They have been my go to headphones bro and I'm rough on them too. They handle drops on tile like a champ and the sound takes a little getting used to if you usually like punchy hard hitting bass but the lows sound absolutely great on these.
My pair of 770's have seen daily use for over 7 years now. All parts are still stock and the cans sound perfect. Pads are getting little worn out but still very comfortable. I recently bought 1990pro but still come back to my trusty 770 every now and again. I love them!
I needed to replace the headband on my 770s after a few years. It began to peel off a lot. I bought something from Aliexpress for a few bucks, it looks and feels very similar to the original :)
Wow! First time I've seen this channel before and its probably the best review I've seen the way that I imagine reviews have to be, you go through specific details that I've never seen other channels go through and that is really an amazing thing to see from a small channel like you. Subscriber earned! Great work and very underrated channel!
Thank you so much! To be honest, this is just my attempt to grow a little further than i did with my original German channel. Hoping to do this full time sometime, which sadly will not be possible with this content in my country... Thanks for your support, the uploads will definitely come more regularly now! 😎👍
@@micandcampro Leider :( Vielleicht gibt es nicht genug audiophile Tontechnikenthusiasten in Deutschland, also müssen andere mit her. Danke, dass es dich gibt
Thanks for the note, good to know! I once washed the pads of my dt770 Pro - didn't work out as planned... 😅🙈 You should never try to quick dry the pads in the oven. Even at a very low temp the elastic part hardens and shrinks, rendering the pads close to useless... 😆
Recently my ever-so-reliable DT 770 PRO recently developed a left speaker problem, no sound (at a low volume I heard a short buzz then nothing). Wiring is ok so it's the speaker itself. Has anyone had, or have heard of a problem like this? You've just made my mind up. This model IS gonna be my replacement set all the way. Thanks. 😀
It buzzed at low volume? That's weird, did you test another pair of headphones on this very headphone jack? Or did you test the dt's on another device? Buzzing at low volume is something i would blame to the anplifier-side of the equipment...
@@micandcampro Yes, I did test them on another headphone jack. Kinda sad in a way as I didn't wish to buy another, and replacing the speaker just isn't economically viable.
I just had the same issue with my 990 Pro a couple days ago. I was sitting very still, just watching a series and suddenly experienced no sound from the left side. Checked cables, noticed no difference no matter how I moved them. Reinstalled software, didn't do anything. The sound would reappear when I replugged it but it was noticeably weaker on the left side and after a while it would just go away completely again. Now replugging doesn't seem to do anything either. Feels so weird that they would break out of nowhere. Meanwhile, any time I've accidentaly dropped them quite hard on my table they've held up seemingly without any damage. 70 euro + shipping for a repair is a bit spicy considering a brand new pair is only about twice that price.
I'm afraid I disagree with most of the statements in this video. I bought both the 700 Pro X and the 770 Pro 80 ohm. Here's my two cents... A couple of things to note first: - The "soundcheck" part of this video is very far from the true sound of both headphones, likely due to the ear simulation device used for recording which adds treble and removes bass. - The 770 Pro 80 ohm used in this video is an older version which has a lower quality cable and lower quality engraved letters on the cups. My 770 Pro 80 ohm has a low-noise rubberized cable and more modern (and perhaps longer lasting) engraving on the cups. It's even got a different font for the letters. - The two headphones do not weigh the same as is stated in this video. The 770 is much lighter at 270g vs 350g for the 700. This makes a noticeable difference in comfort (though it is not the biggest factor as I will mention later). Now for the differences: - The 700 doesn't just have lower treble than the 770, it basically has no treble at all. All of the air and detail we enjoy in music, gone. Yes, the 770's treble can get a little excessive at times but it's still better than having almost zero treble in my opinion. - The 700 has better sub-bass extension which is great but the mid-bass has a higher bump than on the 770 which makes kick drums annoyingly overpowered. They've replaced the treble spike of the 770 with a mid-bass spike instead. Pick your poison. Add to this the lack of treble, and the 700 Pro X can easily be considered bass canons (which is not a good thing). - The 700 sounds a bit muffled compared to the 770. Maybe it's the new thick filter fabric they put over the drivers, but the 770 sounds a little clearer and it's not just the higher treble giving off that impression. I've heard other reports of the 700 and 900 Pro X sounding like there is a veil over the music. - The 700 has a narrower soundstage than the 770. It's more "in your face" while the 770 is more spacious. - The 700 has a much higher clamp force which makes it so much less comfortable than the 770 despite having deeper earpads, and I don't have a very big head. I'm not kidding, this thing feels like a vice on your head. Add to that the extra weight and the excessive bass, and you have a headphone that quickly fatigues both your head and your ears. In conclusion, I'd go for the 770 Pro as it has a clearer sound, a wider soundstage, is more comfortable and cheaper. The treble spike and sub-bass roll-off can easily be fixed with EQ and the 770 Pro can easily be modded to have a detachable cable if you wish (just look at a RUclips tutorial). The 80 ohm version has just enough volume when driven by a phone but the 32 ohm version and 700 Pro X can get louder. Hope that helps some people make a more informed decision. Peace!
I largely agree with Your findings. I recently bought the 700 and was disappointed. For critical listening they are useless for me. soupy bass, weak mids and highs. I use them only for internet audio when it gets noisy around me. Waste of money.
@@takuan650 If you're stuck with the 700 Pro X, I highly recommend investing in Sonarworks Sound ID Reference for headphones. This thing instantly fixed every single headphone I own and is the most easy-to-use customizable EQ out there. You'll never have to buy another headphone again. I got it 30% off on black friday but it's still worth it at full price imo especially if you're producing music professionally or critical listening.
@@Nayah9 Think I've seen you commenting on another DT 700 Pro X review. Your review makes me want to keep the DT 770 80 Ohm which I currently have, but I still have time to return it so I'm looking at DT 700 Pro X reviews just in case. With my M1 Air and Apple Music Loseless + Dolby Atmos it sounds amazing, can't imagine the DT 700 being much better. But from this sound comparison, it's the DT 770 that sounds more muffled here. You mentioned Sonarworks Sound ID. I tried AutoEQ in Soundsource and EQmac (Crinacle, Oratory etc) but I find I just like the headphones the most as they are. I feel like with these EQs I'm losing the “essence” of these headphones and ultimately the reason why I bought them - nice bass and a V-shape sound. Would Sonarworks Sound ID give me different results, or is it just the classic AutoEQ correction that others provide?
@@Razertw As I said, I wouldn't trust the sound comparison in this video. The 770 Pro sounds suspiciously bright and shouty while the 700 Pro X sounds suspiciously full and balanced (which they are not)! What Sonarworks first does is completely flatten the frequency response of your headphone which is quite amazing to witness. You can then adjust the curve with EQ points as you wish and the output is automatically reduced accordingly. It's above any other EQ out there as it can instantly make almost any headphone sound great. Install the free trial and see for yourself. Or just keep using whatever EQ you have if you're happy.
@@Nayah9 Maybe the reviewer made them sound better on purpose to just make them look better for potentional buyers deciding? Yeah I'm gonna give it a try 👍
When I first got mine I thought they were way too harsh in the sound character. The treble were almost always stabbing my ears and if ears could puke they would have. However I kept using these because 300+ euros down and now I only use these. They have for sure softened in the character a lot. Bass is tight and snappy, treble is still very pronounced but not harsh at all. My BIG gripe with the 770 was the damn cable, I hate it with a passion, so stiff and translate all rubbing into the ear cups, also not detachable. So are 700 pro x worth double the price? Yes. If you are gonna get the 770 do the detachable cable mod on it.
Ive had my DT 880s for almost 8 years now and ive worn out the snaps in the right headphone and the velour have seen better days, but thats when theyve been used EVERY day minimum 8 hours a day, from gaming/digital work/music listening and so on. They still work flawlessly thou and im getting spare parts, because they are available at not that a big price and im expecting them to hold for many years to come. I mean.......Beyerdynamic may have issues with treble but quality is not an issue.
As an owner of DT 770 Pro 80 ohm with MANY miles on them, let me tell you guys you cannot go wrong with either. Just make sure if you go with DT 770 Pro 80 ohm or higher you have a real amp. I ran it off UMC22 for years and it was criminally underpowered... Schiit Magni brings these to life. Their only downside is they do distort at very loud volumes (not recommended anyways). But you can just tell this driver is not as resolving and IMO would be worth it to give the new ones a shot. I have spent the last month testing everything from DT 770 Pro, HD 560S, Edition XS, K371, Arctis Nova Pro Wireless, Epos H3 Pro, HS80... and DT 770 Pro is right up there. Slightly less resolving than 560S and cannot go as loud without distorting so it realistically comes in 3rd behind that Edition XS. I was not impressed with K371 at all. The gaming headsets have their own flavor and easily the ANPW has the best clarity and detail if it fits your head (and budget).
@@gustasram1070 Probably. I don't think you'll be leaving much on the table. I would not over spend on a special DAC or AMP to bring the DT 770 up another few %. Definitely invest in another headset if you wanna go that route (HD600 or above).
My new DT 770 32Ohms definitely sound better than my old 80Ohms, I have them both. Could be different on a different amp, maybe, but the 32Ohms sound clearer, the 80Ohms have a slight veil. I don't hear much difference in bass. Btw the volume from the 32Ohms isn't much higher.
Best Headphones review video I have ever seen. I think Beyerdynamic Owe you for this classy review. Just ordered one for me today. Thanks man, Keep up the good work 👍
it's hard to believe that the sound test showed such a huge difference! The new model sounds 100 times better (as far as I can hear in my Marshall Maojr-lV ). thanks!
wow that soundcheck! will need to go back to the store to compare a couple different ones again, for travelling the 770s just don't work due to the cable
Best review I've seen on headphones. I have the DT770 and the sound check in this video reveals exactly the kind of frequencies that I have to EQ out on my mixes all the time, while the Pro X sounds much more natural. When my DT770s die I will get the Pro X.
@@micandcampro That's true in the case of the drivers, but I already have both thin cables that come out from the top into the head support wearing out. They are now isolated with duct tape and I'm expecting them to brake soon.
🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂I misread the title, I just bought a set of 770 pro *X* limited edition, I managed to find an online retailer that had them at close to the original price ($196), as it seems they have been sold out most places for awhile and any for sale seemed to have prices at least twice that much. WH990n becomes muddy even at C3 range triads. 700 pro X can easlily go upto Perfect Fifths and C3 and up to Triads at C2 range. Great review and ,indeed, 700 sound like this, more open..I was tempted also for 900 but i took Ananda Stealth for open headphones, far better but at 500 euro... Only concern is that are not yet available custom pads, meanwhile i had replaced the original cables with other from Alliexpress to preserve them..Cost me 195euro B-stock and 35euro both custom cables..
No idea how close that sound check is to reality, but you really can hear the difference in the reduction of those aggressive tones people complain about the DT 770 having Great review and comparison!
How come my 900x Pro has less bass than mine 990 250ohm. Same amp setup, no eq changed, same song, yet my 990 vibrates in bass and booming when rap or edm music. Might trade my 900 for 700x pro
thanks for putting out such a good review. I cancelled my previous 770 order and ordered the 700 pro x instead after listening your side by side test. Will be moving from Sennheiser Momentum M2 Over Ears after 9 years :) Let's see how they sound in real life.
Why are the 770s having such weird mid range boost, is that accurate sound reproduction??? because if you mix with those you would definitely be hearing harsh mids... Am thinking the sound test is what will do it for me, because the difference was so huge... Or am I missing something???
The harsh boost may result from my setup. The mics in this thing aren't calibrated, this has to be done in post. I didn't compensate the recording because the goal here was to compare the headphones directly. An accurate sound reproduction is next to impossible because of the infinite variables between recording and playback on different devices, so i didn't bother altering the recordings... The boost isn't there in reality, of course.
@@micandcampro True. As I've written above, the DT 700's sounded great on my DT 770's :D But the DT 770's on my DT 770's sound terrible, especially the mids. I think it's impossible to hear precisely the sound of other headphones through any speakers/headphones, even if your setup was calibrated. It can only be used as a relative comparison and one must hear the real thing to hear their sound.
An meinem Mac isses egal. Nochmals danke, dass du mich mit deinem Video darauf aufmerksam gemacht hast. Gruß Armin
I have the DT770 Pro 32 Ohms and they sound Awesome using them now over 3 years, I listen to psytrance and stuff and when i feel i need more bass i use my hip dac 2 which is awesome with the extra bass button, on the laptop i use some times a chrome bass equalizer extesion if i feel to need a little extra bass the headphones are extremly extremly clear and soft clouds havenly sounding in the highs and the bass is nice and punchy which makes me enjoy the music on another level. I love them. I have the M50x as well but i gave them to my mom because i did not use them that much I used to watched movies with them but now I dont watch no more movies and for music i prefer 770s.
i just want to tell my opinion: if youreusing these headphones just for music listenig, go for 770 pro. they have better sound stage and deeper bass than 700 x. but for monitoring purposes 700 x has better clarity and flat sound. 770 pro 80 ohm is fun, 700 x is business. i bought them brand new, burn in 100 hours and test them, they are very very good headphones but different strenghs. they are better than any luxorious focal horse sh*t :) thaks for your review too mic and cam
For a year now I haven’t taken DT770 (80 Ohm) purchased in September 2021 from the table. Modern, chinese IEMs for about 30-100 euro sound much cleaner and more correct at mid frequencies than these 770s. Their time is long gone...
I got almost immediately wowed by your review. Now I see that I wasn't the only one. You have a real talent! One question - did you compensate the recordings from EARS?
In this particular video i compensated the mic for "headphone flat eq", yes. But by now i decided to leave the tracks as is, because the recordings stay comparable and sound different on every device anyway 😅
Then you may like the new 770pro-x, it's a fusion between 700 and 770. They got the headband/cushion from the 770 and the drivers from the 700 plus a removable cable! Pretty interesting stuff! I'm working on the review on that one!
What’s your opinion on these for recording vocals? I’m looking to replace my current headphones because my microphone picks up the output ALL the time 😑 thanks for your review
Be aware the DT 1770 and 1990 pros have known issues with their drivers failing. I bought a pair of 1770s to replace my well used 770s. The 1770s died just outside the warranty period with normal use, and never been dropped.
Hi. How do you think the 48ohm impedance on the DT 700 Pro X will handle the 12 ohm output impedance on my source? Will use it on a guitar modeller with the mentioned output impedance and an audio interface with a 10ohm output impedance. Been really torn between the Pro X and the DT 770 250ohm for weeks now. Help.
I don't have any headphone amp with such a high output impedance to compare that. But from my understanding it should handle it well, because, according to Beyerdynamic, the membranes are super light, which should not require a very low output impedance to control them. I really had to read into that, so i hope this helps at least a little bit.
Do I need a headphone amp to listen music via USB-C/XLR Cable from my iPhone? Will I benefit from an amp? Which would you recommend? Kind regards Sebastian
I've had 2 days with these. I have tinnitus and these cause my tinnitus go into overdrive because the highs are too fizzy. Unfortunately I am returning them.
@@micandcampro sorry to hear that. I’m used to tinnitus ringing from high pitched sounds but these were a class ahead in triggering that. I’ve heard 770 in comparison has pronounced highs so I don’t even want to imagine how that would be like.
No worries, I have that as long as i can remember and got pretty good at ignoring it 😅 The 770's are in deed even more pronounced at high frequencies, so they would be even worse for you... Maybe you should look for open back cans, I'm feeling this type triggers that less, at least for me... 🤔
hi my question is a bit out of the topic but can you tell me what was the phone that have you used in the video i am interested because it didn't have a front camera

Much simpler to clean simulated leather earpads. Velour is a dust and oil magnet. Their pristine condition is beautiful, but it doesn't survive long term frequent use. I have AKG K712. I swapped the velour pads for sim leather. Keeping them clean is a now non-issue, and they're even more comfortable.
@@kiiroMADE Being so cheap, that's a non-issue for me, as they're practically disposable. I ordered multiple sets, and it's working out to 18-24 months per set. That also applies to my ATH MSR-7's.
@@fred_2021 well, yes sure.. if the spare parts are that readily available to order then it's fine I guess. But not all headphones has spare parts like that, or are easily serviceable by the user.
Superior sound takes priority, of course, but commensurate build quality isn't that commonplace. My 717's have undergone several major surgeries in as many years. The headband is now foam padding inside bubble-wrap, lol. Which is one reason for the DT700's grabbing my interest .
My personal opinion: They´re great for that. The low end is tight and strong, high end is crisp but not piercing your eardrums at higher volumes. Midrange is lovely for voices and synths. Staging is also beautiful for spatial sounds. Headnodding is also no problem, because they sit comfortable and yet tight enough.
Not at all, the impedance of 48 Ohms is pretty low and then drivers are high efficiency, so really no need for a dedicated amp. (Although a headphone amp is always the way to go if you have one on hand.) 😎👍
Can anyone help, my hyperx cloud 3 broke and i cant decide between jbl 910 or beyerdynamic 700 x pro , need it for listening to music like heavy bass more than gaming ?
There must be something wrong with the sound test... 🤔 I have had 3 pairs of DT 770s and they never sounded that boxy and "trashy" as presented here. I also haver seen anyone recommending the DT 700 X over the old one. The price is almost the double in most countries by the way.
Depending on your keyboard the 900 could be the better choice, because it is less prone to heat up your ears. The drawback is: you could hear your keyboard more (if it is a clickie mechanical one). And besides that, the game sound will bleed out more. So if you have sensitive people around you or a loud keyboard, i'd go with the 700. The weight difference isn't that noticable, once they're on your head. I'll post a video, comparing the two in depth in the next few days, if you're interested! 😎👍
@@micandcampro Yes, critical in depth video would be nice. I need closed back so other don't hear the sound. Btw, i meant keoboard as for playing the musical instrument, not pc keyboard, but it should work similarly i guess. Intersting that you say the weight difference is not not noticeable. I'm critical when it comes to weight and ergonomics.
Oh, excuse me, I'm used to people using typing keyboards, a real musician is rather rare 😅 In that case i think the 900 checks all the boxes for you! 👍 What i found interesting in comparing 700 vs 900 is that the sound and tonal difference is barely noticable, BD made a great job there!
I have these headphones and they are the quietest pair I have. This is not good, I don’t mean noise cancellation, I mean, my cheaper headphones all sound MUCH LOUDER! Now, idk if this has anything to do with them being “mixing” headphones but they don’t sound as powerful as a $250 headphone should sound. I kinda feel like I got ripped off.😒
That's weird, if i plug them into my laptop i have to turn the volume way down, compared to all my other cans. And i mean WAY down, like 12% for normal listening levels... 🤔
To anyone here thinking of buyint the 700 Pro X: Do it. I've owned a pair since the very first day they were available in the market, use they daily, and they still look fresh out of the box. The sound is amazing, still on the same pads and the comfort is unmatched.
Exactly my opinion! Thanks a lot! 😊♥️

One of the pads finally gave up on me recently, i will just get some new ones and they will be ready for the next 10 years! 😅👍
replace your velour pads
@@micandcampro Leider :(

Vielen Dank ♥️♥️♥️
You can actually wash the pads! The middle ring can be pulled out so you can remove the foam and wash the velour.
Thanks for the note, good to know! I once washed the pads of my dt770 Pro - didn't work out as planned... 😅🙈 You should never try to quick dry the pads in the oven. Even at a very low temp the elastic part hardens and shrinks, rendering the pads close to useless... 😆
@@micandcampro I like the way you experiment with things 😂👍
A couple of things to note first:
- The "soundcheck" part of this video is very far from the true sound of both headphones, likely due to the ear simulation device used for recording which adds treble and removes bass.
Now for the differences:
- The 700 doesn't just have lower treble than the 770, it basically has no treble at all.
As many have said before me, one of the best reviews I have seen. Period ;)
I would go with 770 pro32 Ohm unless i have a really good amp.
otherwise i don't recommend 80 or 250 ohm versions.
@@kaankaral Agree however the 80 ohm are said to be the bassiest.
@@drewmorg. would my Focusrite Scarlett Solo 3rd Gen be good for 80ohm DT 770 Pro?
@@gustasram1070 Probably. I don't think you'll be leaving much on the table. I would not over spend on a special DAC or AMP to bring the DT 770 up another few %. Definitely invest in another headset if you wanna go that route (HD600 or above).
My new DT 770 32Ohms definitely sound better than my old 80Ohms, I have them both. Could be different on a different amp, maybe, but the 32Ohms sound clearer, the 80Ohms have a slight veil. I don't hear much difference in bass. Btw the volume from the 32Ohms isn't much higher.
You just earned a new subscriber! I like your thoroughness and professionalism and especially your sense of humor! You do a great review!

wow that soundcheck! will need to go back to the store to compare a couple different ones again, for travelling the 770s just don't work due to the cable
Best review I've seen on headphones. I have the DT770 and the sound check in this video reveals exactly the kind of frequencies that I have to EQ out on my mixes all the time, while the Pro X sounds much more natural. When my DT770s die I will get the Pro X.
Good decision, but if you waiting until the 770's break could take some time 😅
@@micandcampro That's true in the case of the drivers, but I already have both thin cables that come out from the top into the head support wearing out. They are now isolated with duct tape and I'm expecting them to brake soon.
Ok, but if it's fixed with duct tape, it probably won't break any time soon either, as long as you don't spray WD40 on it 😂
🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂I misread the title, I just bought a set of 770 pro *X* limited edition, I managed to find an online retailer that had them at close to the original price ($196), as it seems they have been sold out most places for awhile and any for sale seemed to have prices at least twice that much. Can't wait for them to arrive as I have heard good things about them🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂

I just purchased these and can’t wait to be back from a cruise 🚢 and try ‘em out. I will be using them with predominantly with my Roland VAD e-drum kit.
The pro x sounds pure, unfiltered
Just the 3,5K and 4K feel filtered
The 3,5K being filtered is a con, but 4K is a pro
Listening through my yamaha HS8 studio monitors there was a huge difference during the soundcheck.
Sound difference is so obvious..

@@micandcampro Today i got my 700 pro X.
First of all i gotta tell you that : it is a replacement to my Sony WH990n .
Secondly my main usage is of Playing Piano with my Roland FP-60X and different synths.
Comparing it toWH990n :
700 pro X is superior middle ranges, clean sound : Loved that
700 pro X is superior in Bases , clean . WH990n becomes muddy even at C3 range triads.
700 pro X can easlily go upto Perfect Fifths and C3 and up to Triads at C2 range.
In short 700 proX met my expectations and conforms with your video.
i will be following you as i found your videos accurate and fun :)
Cheers mate.

Great review and ,indeed, 700 sound like this, more open..I was tempted also for 900 but i took Ananda Stealth for open headphones, far better but at 500 euro... Only concern is that are not yet available custom pads, meanwhile i had replaced the original cables with other from Alliexpress to preserve them..Cost me 195euro B-stock and 35euro both custom cables..
btw we now have DT770 Pro X with the same detachable cable and same driver
Jupp, already got one! It's a very good update imo 👍
I would love to see a comparison of DT 990 vs DT 900 X vs DT 1990 or at least DT 900 X vs DT 1990. Especially a sound-check.
No idea how close that sound check is to reality, but you really can hear the difference in the reduction of those aggressive tones people complain about the DT 770 having
Great review and comparison!
The sound check is a bit accurate, the difference is that dt 770 is like 3 times harsher than what is showed in this sound check, too much treble
Love the cans but hate that mini-xlr shoulder poker of an unbalanced connector.
How come my 900x Pro has less bass than mine 990 250ohm. Same amp setup, no eq changed, same song, yet my 990 vibrates in bass and booming when rap or edm music. Might trade my 900 for 700x pro
why dont you give a comparison to Open and Closed back ones ( 700 Prox vs 900 Prox ) ?
that will help a lot .

Excellent review, thanks chap.
Sound check is invaluable to us!
An meinem Mac isses egal. Nochmals danke, dass du mich mit deinem Video darauf aufmerksam gemacht hast. Gruß Armin

I love them. I have the M50x as well but i gave them to my mom because i did not use them that much I used to watched movies with them but now I dont watch no more movies and for music i prefer 770s.

amazing review, wild how different they sound
77O pro sounds bit hollow and some frequencies muffled. 77O pro x more resolution, more detail, wider sound.
I’ve heard the opposite in regard to soundstage. Does the 700 pro X actually sound wider?
Imho it does, yes. Not by much, but it does.

i just want to tell my opinion: if youreusing these headphones just for music listenig, go for 770 pro. they have better sound stage and deeper bass than 700 x. but for monitoring purposes 700 x has better clarity and flat sound.

@@micandcampro Yeah, there are variables but the fewer, the better.

Did you ever try or compare these to the DT 1770 Pros by any chance? if so, how do you think they compare?
Sadly i haven't had the chance to, yet...
Be aware the DT 1770 and 1990 pros have known issues with their drivers failing. I bought a pair of 1770s to replace my well used 770s. The 1770s died just outside the warranty period with normal use, and never been dropped.

Well done video and great info! Thank you!
On my DT 770 Pro the DT 700s sound quite nice :D
Thanks man, this really helped me make a decision.
I appreciate the time. Helped a lot.

If only I had more money, I'd buy dt700 pro x, since I don't, I will buy dt 770. Anyway, good enough upgrade after using apple earpods for years
Much simpler to clean simulated leather earpads. Velour is a dust and oil magnet. Their pristine condition is beautiful, but it doesn't survive long term frequent use. I have AKG K712. I swapped the velour pads for sim leather. Keeping them clean is a now non-issue, and they're even more comfortable.
Fake leather is pure cancer when it starts to peal..
Anybody know if you can rip out that plastic ring on the ear pads and put them in aftermarket ear pads?
These new headphones are the best yo yeehaw!
😅😅😅👍
how are these for just listening to music and wanting a good sound I can nod my head to? mostly electronic
@@micandcampro awesome! thank you so much! do you use an amp with these on your computer?
Not at all, the impedance of 48 Ohms is pretty low and then drivers are high efficiency, so really no need for a dedicated amp. (Although a headphone amp is always the way to go if you have one on hand.) 😎👍
700/900 pro x 48 ohm can I use with dualsense ftom PS5? It will be ok? Or with Magnat mr780?
Ordered mine now ❤
Can anyone help, my hyperx cloud 3 broke and i cant decide between jbl 910 or beyerdynamic 700 x pro , need it for listening to music like heavy bass more than gaming ?
hi what dac headphone amplifier for DT 700 prox you you propose
Great review ! thank you
770 is 270g & 700 is 350g
There must be something wrong with the sound test... 🤔
I have had 3 pairs of DT 770s and they never sounded that boxy and "trashy" as presented here.
I also haver seen anyone recommending the DT 700 X over the old one. The price is almost the double in most countries by the way.
Which is more comfortable for hours of keyboard playing? The 700 pro x weighs more
Depending on your keyboard the 900 could be the better choice, because it is less prone to heat up your ears.
Oh, excuse me, I'm used to people using typing keyboards, a real musician is rather rare 😅
In that case i think the 900 checks all the boxes for you! 👍 What i found interesting in comparing 700 vs 900 is that the sound and tonal difference is barely noticable, BD made a great job there!
@@micandcampro No prob. the 900 is open back headphones, no?
Yes, the 900's are the open ones. Here's an Amazon-Link for your reference (affiliate of course😎): amzn.to/3BFWFih
Please do more sound check videos!
Great review man helped me make a decision
Thanks a lot! Glad it helped! 😃👍
I don’t think I would ever want to carry anything of mine 😊inside your bag.
I guess nobody wants that. (For me personally it's a good thing - less to carry🤣)
