Creating a Black Swan inspired Dress from Wrapping Paper?!

- The incredible costumes by the Mulleavy sisters of Rodarte have always stood out as excellence in film costuming. I loved the attention to detail, the way their clothing tells a story, so it is no surprise that I wanted to try and give it a "Gunnar" spin.
True to my Project Runway background, I wanted to use an unconventional material. I chose this wrapping paper because of the stunning texture and the way it reflects light. Unfortunately, it was not wearable, but fret not! I re-used the materials for wrapping gifts at the holidays. We also recycled the paper afterward.

You should make dresses out of unusual material and have them shown in an art gallery for people to guess what they're made out of! I can see these being auctioned one day for a decent amount of money 😊

He’s fantastic and I’m not saying he’s not talented but he’s not a designer if he’s copying other people designs so technically he couldn’t open his own designer shop as his designs which as said ain’t his actual design will com with copyright
@@Thisistrulyoddtv_Mark but he has in fact made some pretty remarkable designs himself. I I know for a fact that I could never go into a Dollar tree and come out and make a beautiful work of art as he did. And yes he does recreations, but he always gives credit where credit is due and try it doesn't try to pull them off as his own.

I've always wanted to be a fashion designer, but for the life of me, I can't hold a scissors perfectly or even use a needle. It's like the scissors has it's own mind and decides to malfunction each time I grab it to use. This makes me cry. And he is indeed an inspiration.

YOU GUYS this is such good advice though!! if you really want to practice sewing, fabric can be really expensive but just use wrapping paper. that way if you junk up you’re not ruining your fabric you have.

Love, love, love! That is also one of my favorite wrapping papers. It is from target. It isn’t cheap. They give you very little. So this was very expensive to put together. Honestly filming doesn’t do it justice. In person this dress must be amazing.
