Very educational, thank you...all my questions answered in one video !👍🏻 Looks like you did a lot of research and put a lot of work into this. Thanks again.
I’m originally from New Zealand and as a kid remember hunting for Kauri gum using a thin steel rod to probe around in the ground ! You needed an expert with you to be able to ‘read’ the feel of the gum....I unfortunately was never good enough do it !
Listening to this while working a piece of amber. So much to learn and it's all so fascinating. Thanks for sharing these magnificent, ancient, golden micro-worlds with us. Reality is way more imaginative than fiction on the amber adventure! Cheers!
OMG I adore amber. Diamonds do not much for me, too cold. But the warmth and light from amber is for me divine. I proudly own a box of amber jewellery, mostly cheap yellows, artificial green and red. Anyway, I hope they are natural (not plastic fakes) and my dream is to own a white necklace. I also love the mosaic ones, although it's basically amber grains mixed into white resin. But it looks good and quite artistic (even when also artificial). But I adore it and try to catch every exhibition on youtube or wherever. Thanks so much for posting and the playlist, getting right into it. More please.
Very good history of amber! In Newfoundland we have many spruce trees...no amber that I know of....but years ago people used to chew resin as a stomach remedy or just for chewing gum!
I have read in a book (Rutleys elements of mineralogy) that Blue ambers are found in Dominican Republic and they gain colour due to soot particles from contemporary forest fires. Can you tell anything more about these or blue ambers in general? Loved the video❤
Sure! Dominican blue amber is not actually blue - it becomes blue when you shine bright light at certain angle - while baltic amber "blue" is related to actual certain minetals being in contact with white royal amber - and that blue is real blue without need of strong lights:)
How does it smell like , amber is very respected in perfumes , it is ranked just after agarwood , musk , ambergris and then amber . Does it really smell great ? Can you give me a type of guess ? Greetings 👋😊
@@Amberscape wow imagine how amazing that would be to lands who cannot even grow pine trees. Must have been like Europe discovering pepper or nutmeg or cinnamon
Wow this is a great video thank you. We have two yellow baltic necklaces. I see other people with 'amber' necklaces and I wonder if they are real. I tried the salt water test on our necklaces and they floated. Tried plastic and went to the bottom. I dont want to sell them. Me and my daughters wear them. I do wonder what it is worth. Because I got them very cheap from someone selling all the necklaces of the grandma. Maybe if its worth a lot I should not let my 4yo wear one everywhere... it is too big for her.
Hey there, didnt quite understood the question - specifically the "era" part:). You're asking which inclusions are the most rare and expensive in baltic amber? Then it would be hands down lizards , scorpions, gastropods and some rare plant inclusions:). As for isects hmm, i don thave to much experience but scenes kike copulation for moths are extraordinaly rare/expensive. Single most rare insect (not lizard or scorpion) would be probably the flea:), 15-20grand for the flea
why do i find IT so interesting because Amber represents a Tribes of Israel on the breastplate mentioned in the bible ! ,a lot of Amber is also Orange Red OR Orange Yellow OR Orange Brown OR Orange Black ,not Just only Red OR Yellow OR black ...that is what i noticed because i had a amber Stone for a long time given to me by someone and i obeserved it much to remember that the amber that i had was orange .Its a beautifull precious gemstone .
they all look *orange* AF and you said they could be yellow, red, brown, white, black, greenish but you didn’t use the word orange a single time 😅🥲😂 haahah great video tho

where can i buy baltic amber in warsaw?

Is there copal in the Baltic sea?
Possible but unlikely, personally havent found any:)

Depends on the quality if the amber, if it has any cracks, color, if its opaque or transparent:)
@@Amberscape It is transparent with no cracks. I do think that it has been heated.
Opaque ones are valued more in javelery, for some reason😁, i like transparent ones a lot
@@Amberscape Maybe because most people will think it is plastic. When the sun is on it I do see a lot of difference.
Infelizmente não pude entender o inglês! Mas amei o vídeo
