I've often wondered about this too. Great video and explanation. I would love to see a 到 / 完 / 好 comparison video.

Your English accent is very very good for a non-native speaker.
BTW The sentence you were looking for is: "The homework is written on the blackboard"

Great topic. Unfortunately, I'm a beginner and I can't read Chinese chararcters. I would like it better if you could give example in PIN YIN. Thank you.

Thanks for a great video! I just had this question last night and here we are. I'm surprised, though, by how few people are interested in learning this wonderful language basically for free.

    I am a professional teacher/translator:
Yinru is one of the very best teachers. In fact, if I had a teacher cage fight it would be Yinru versus Eileen. So she's either best or second best on earth, at least for CSL.
Yinru is far from ChineseClass101's only good teacher. In fact EVERY teacher I have seen at ChineseClass101 is brilliant. They are each expressions of various facets of the rich powerful and profound Chinese culture. Kate, for example, is all about art, and amazing. Rui too so sweet so hard working. Yuting isn't just beautiful she is also friendly and smart. There are more teachers are ChineseClass YOU can learn from and really reallly should. ChineseClass101 versus Mandarincorner.org
    CAGEFIGHT FOR FLUENCY!
These are the very best CSL resources you can find. (I know there are many others which are also good, some not so well established).
Thanks for the great lessons Yinru!!! You teach me so much and are such a wonderful person!

      Anonymous "Onymous,"
I think you're half right. Yinru is clearly very bright and has great potential. Chinese101 did well to give her a third chance after she failed so spectacularly at her two or more chances with her previous schools.
This is the first time I have seen her perform competently. She is beginning to show the ability that she managed to lose in all her previous videos, burying it under her inane giggles, lack of preparation, and inability to understand her role vis a vis her audience.
I wish her well: it is good to see her starting to succeed at last. Goodness, it was painful to watch her struggle!

You are a great teacher. I love your explanations. I thought I might give you a tip. The preposition on does not follow the verb emphasize. So we don't say you emphasize on something. We just say you emphasize something.

I learned 照片 as zhàopiàn, but here I noticed she pronounces it zhàopiān, which pronunciation would be better for me to say? Also should I be pronouncing 着 as a neutral tone? Anyone who knows please let me know, I’d be really grateful! These videos are great btw, thanks so much for sharing!

If there are double fourth tones in a phrase like 照片zhào piàn, Chinese people naturally change the last character into the tone slightly.

Hi teacher! Sorry for my English!
I love to listen Chinese songs. So, I study Chinese language by myself. I really really like the song "西海情歌". But there is a phrase in the song confuse me. I found many version of this sentence:
    1. 无言着苍茫的高原
    2. 无言这苍茫的高原
    3. 无缘着苍茫的高原
    4. 无缘这苍茫的高原
Can you tell me the meaning of each phrase! And which phrase is correct arcording to the origin?
    Thank you very much!
