I've been buying original art since the 80's - 90's, when you could pick up some REALLY nice pages for $100 - $200. Sometime in the mid 2000's, original art jumped in price, and I transitioned to sketches. At first, many artists did them for free, but $50 - $100 was common. Now, artists are charging $400 - $1,000 or more for a sketch, and $150 for a simple doodle remark. Adam Hughes comments about $1,500 - $4,000 for reserved sketches, nice though they were, puts it in clear focus. Fewer and fewer people are now able to afford more than a simple doodle or even a "fancy" multi-colour signature. Any wonder why Adam Hughes now has a binder full of unsold pages ? Don't mean to be negative, but, the hobby is, more and more, reserved for the rich.
I hear you, I can't afford any of their beautiful art. Perhaps in the future I can get a piece or two. However; I must say, these artists deserve every penny. It's their hearts. As an artist, even non-professional, I completely understand. 5k for a veteran artist's sketch on a large sheet, is rather fair. I would agree if it were younger artists. Moreover, you were quite lucky back in the days, comic book artists were not taken serious, & were not acknowledged & realized as "real artists." The elder artists have their art priced to what they deserve for such a piece. Just my 2 cents. Take care.

love the content and ive watched all your videos. these prices seem insane to me. im not a comic book guy but 6-10k for a hand drawn pic seems insane. are people really dropping that kind of money on a single piece of paper
I appreciate the beauty of the art. I just do not think I could start collecting it as I would have no room on my walls and as it is, my wife is unhappy with all the comic boxes all over the house.
i got lucky and found 10 copies of that Eagle comic for $20 a few months ago...
I've enjoyed what they've done with the what was actually being shared with them and passed on from those who were actually connected to me as they've done great things with the character and their own personal story's which are actually their own given choices and style as it's good to actually know that it wasn't for nothing and had it's purposes in various other ways and provided New opportunities as well.
Thanks again Angelo for your time as there have been many different things I myself have done and been involved with for the past 34 years now,but unfortunately for me no one actually knows me or my exact ties to so many things brought about throughout so many years now within society and the entire world as my actual claims seem to be far fetched and out of date presently but that's what happens when you actually decide to make certain comments to social media and your name isn't on or actually attached to anything through anyone and I definitely don't like to be considered to be a Liar or a Fraud at any given time within my existence and can't live with misinformation and false denials as it may as it may actually involve me twenty five various things long created and currently making financial profits to this moment as well.
But at least I know who is actually doing something with what I actually created in 1990 as they themselves obviously took it much farther from 1999 to 2024 as I'm not looking to cause trouble and discovering things throughout the process through Social Media -"Thanks."(😊)

you have to prepare and ask better questions than : What is your favourite character you like to draw...please, these people draw for money, they are professionals. If you pay them for a comiision piece they will draw anything, it is their job. you should have prepared for at least some of the artists, so you know a little bit about them, that looks much better. Thank God they are prepared for stupid questions and still give nice answers....
anyone can be a dick on the internet - maybe you should start a channel with better prepared questions that people regularly watch
