  • We’re back again with 14 new Cirrus owners sharing their campers. We spent a few days in Cirrus Alley at the Truck Camper Adventure Rally at Roadrunner Wash in Quartzsite Arizona. The rally was busy with classes, learning opportunities and social time, but we made time to hang out with other Cirrus owners and share stories. They let us tour their rigs, including the Cirrus 620, 800, 820 and 920, plus a fully customized Cirrus ready for adventure. Model years from 2016 (“the originals”) to those 2022’s hot off the line. See how they look when people are living in their campers or just weekend boondocking. These are not showroom rigs; they’re in the desert serving as a home or a home away from home. At least three of the owner couples are living full time in their Cirrus truck campers. You’ll hear what they love about their campers and why they chose them, but also the pain points and issues that come with having a camper.
    Apologies for the wind noise and the less than perfect interviewing techniques. We are still learning. But we hope you enjoy getting to know these amazing people and seeing inside their truck campers. We appreciated their willingness to let us come inside even when they had dirty dishes in the sink.

    Welcome to Outer Limits Open Road. We are Bill and Kelli. We downsized from a big house to a 470 square foot condo. Not satisfied, we jettisoned even more stuff and took off in a 100 square foot tiny truck camper named Lucidity Base. We’re off to see the country in our RV, one quirky roadside attraction at a time. There will be treats. Please join us by subscribing to follow our journey.

    I think when you do these reviews you should let people see what size and model vehicles these units are sitting on.

      There is a lot of interest in that. It gets discussed a lot in the forums. I know that we spent as much time figuring out the truck as the camper and then the experience was quite a bit different than we expected or planned. Good idea.

    Thank you! Inspiring to see them enjoying life! How do you like your 'extended cab' of your F250 in how the front of the camper extends out over the windshield more than a crew cab? The shorter wheel base is worth it for being more mobile off the paved roads? You lose some storage behind the front seats but gain more mobility on rough roads..?
    What is the payload on your F250?

    Would love a 620. Going with Scout for the weight factor. Maybe next truck. Cold and snowy here in the Yoop.

    Hey guys great video . I hope you had a awesome time. Looked like a blast. I hope to join you next year . I'm interested in a Cirrus 620 I was wondering the older gentleman you interviewed with the 620 does he have a RUclips channel or a Fb page? I have some questions for him? I'm looking for ideals esp. on entry steps and hacks. Thank you for sharing the video and as I always say stay safe and healthy.

    That USB coffee grinder!! We bought a hand crank and it’s an ongoing joke as to which one has to grind the coffee beans in the morning 🤣 Kellie, did you get info about the grinder?

    • @OuterLimitsOpenRoad
      @OuterLimitsOpenRoad  2 года назад

      When we hit the road I bought a hand crank too! Then I never used it and gave it away. It was so theoretically good, lol. I did not get the exact info but there are plenty on Amazon, so I have one in my cart. But Bill can't have caffeine so I cut the coffee cord about 6 months ago and we only drink decaf. It's hard to find decaf beans and even then, I mean it's not really coffee, is it? But I have adjusted. It's just not worth grinding for I don't think. But I hope you are out there grinding away. For all of us.

    I just bought a 2022 620 I am scheduled to pick up in few days, I contacted Tech service at NuCamp and asked for a one line wiring diagram. I was told they dont have any, how can you run a production line without any documents for the floor and what did they submit for approval to build. I am hoping the quality doesn't reflect this from the factory. Anyone find electrical wiring diagrams any where else???

    • @OuterLimitsOpenRoad
      @OuterLimitsOpenRoad  2 года назад

      Search the Cirrus Owners facebook page. I know there are schematics for the the other models but I'm not sure about the 620. I did just listen to the campers next to us go on and on about the build issues with their Mercedes/Winnebago top of the line van to anyone who would listen. No rv's are built how we'd prefer. They're meant for weekend use. You won't find any manufacturer without a healthy dose of complaints. This is our third NuCamp because we love them. They are not perfect by any means, but we've been there, we've met them and we trust them.

    is it easy to get in and out of the bed...do you need a dually with the 820

    • @OuterLimitsOpenRoad
      @OuterLimitsOpenRoad  2 года назад +1

      It's easy for us, but we are taller. I've heard of some needing a step. A dually would give an advantage but we have ours on a regular 250 with added airbags.

    The fridge broke and they had to saw it in half to remove... and it cannot be replaced! How long does Cirrus figure fridges trypically last? Seems like a pretty significant design flaw.

    • @OuterLimitsOpenRoad
      @OuterLimitsOpenRoad  2 года назад

      I imagine it's the same with most rvs. They install before they add the walls. Our fridge is doing well and it's the same year as theirs. I guess the figure that's the plan-cut it up. Many rvs have much much bigger fridges.

    • @chipsutcliffe7110
      @chipsutcliffe7110 2 года назад +1

      @@OuterLimitsOpenRoad Never thought about it, but you are right. The fridge must be one of the first things to go into an RV build. I guess since most people don't use their RV much the fridge doesn't get much use and lasts a long time.
