- Опубликовано: 29 июл 2023
- This is our FIRST Wild Atlantic Way vlog, and we accidentally cause serious damage to our rental camper van conversion whilst doing vanlife Ireland
In these travel vlogs 2023 we start at the incredible Curracloe beach in County Wexford featured on Saving Private Ryan. We then travel to the beautiful town of Kinsale in West Cork. Before heading to the start of the west coast of the Wild Atlantic Way to find bioluminescence in Lough Hyne. #VanLifeIreland #wildatlanticway #VWT6
The next day we go to Mizen Head for some beautiful views, with a brief stop in Bantry and then onto Sheep's Head Lighthouse. Following this we have just one more stop to do at Dursey Island Cable Car

Thanks for watching, more van life adventures in Ireland to come next week 🙌
Really hope your windscreen held up!! 😁 Xx
Great video one day I'll get to see Ireland when you go west from any part of the UK the first USA state you come to is Alaska
As someone who worked for a windscreen company, those windscreens are much stronger than you think and you can still drive. Obviously get it fixed when you can but it's not suddenly fall out or anything. They are well designed.
This was amazing to watch. I live in ireland, and you have shown me places that i didn't know even existed like Lake Hyne..I will be making a visit in my own van..thanks so much for sharing your fun filled experience 😀 great craic ❤
It's so beautiful down in that South West part, and not many people about 💖
Another stunning video . I love the uncrowded roads in southern Ireland. The scenery is stunning and the local people are some of the kindest and best people I've ever met anywhere.
Ah that's very kind. 🥰Am glad you enjoyed your trip here and you're welcome back any time. Greetings from Waterford on the South East coast.
Brilliant, loved seeing my beautiful country, i used to live near kinsale, the next village over called Belgooly. The people of ireland are very kind and friendly. 🙏🙏
Don’t worry guys we’ve had cracked windscreens (in Australia) that we’ve had for months getting them fixed for rego or if they got so bad we had no choice and had to fix it, it’s illegal to leave it real bad over here but it’s common. I walked up a dirt road to the Cliffs of Moher and a car came up behind me and asked me if it was the main road, two dirt tracks in the mud, they were from America. The southern Irish are hard to understand at times, I found it easier in the North. Ireland is absolutely beautiful, I so envy you. Brilliant video guys. 💕
What a beautiful, magical trip! And you both seemed to enjoy it so much (except for the rickety cable car😂😂😂) that it was contagious... Thanks for taking us along🙏😊
😅😅😅 that cable car 🚡 was death defying
@@ThoseHappyDaysomg yes it seemed like it! 😅 Especially with its tiny lock and its daring driver🙈
My Sunday morning relaxing and watching you two lovelies. Perfect, you are my happy place!
Good morning!
Loved your vlog this week. Ireland looks beautiful and loved the cable car footage, Liam you are sooo wicked with that cheeky laugh and telling Janine “it’s alright sweetheart!” 🤣😆. You two do a great job of cheering us all up . Drone work and filming awesome as usual Janine , but best of all you are a lovely couple that make us smile 👍❤
Thanks so much, really pleased you enjoyed it
Love the Days…
Welcome back! I’ve missed you! Ireland is stunning and those pigs are so cute . You made me laugh janine on the cable car .Great vlog, much love x
Stunning views. Ireland is blooming amazing. 💚
Hope that windscreen gets fixed soon. 😊
The wild Atlantic coast looks AMAZING and not busy like the NC 500. Don’t worry about the camper and small roads, the transporter has the same footprint as a large estate car. Also your trip in India has inspired us. Just booked a holiday in Sri Lanka and we are going to drive round Sri Lanka in Tuk Tuk
The NC500 is on the same landmass as 65 million people whereas the WAW had only 7 million. And the WAW is spread over 3x the distance so there less concentration of people doing the route. I live on it and there hasn’t been an appreciable difference in traffic since it began as a thing. In more remote parts it probably has but there has been no backlash like I’ve heard about in Scotland.
Love your vlogs. Can’t believe Janine is scared of anything. I mean you drove round India in a Tuk Tuk. There can’t be anything scarier than that. Now I want to go to Ireland 🇮🇪 and do all the things you have just done. Looks amazing 🤩
Loved it. Hilarious pig moment and yes Janine was terrified, can't believe she actually got in the cable car. Shame about negative comments received. The content and quality is fantastic. 💕
Thank you so much
Hahaha! Love Janine’s reaction to the cable car - I would’ve been exactly the same! 😳 Wow! Ireland is just beautiful! Keep safe and enjoy your travels! 🇬🇧🇮🇪🚐
Winscreen damage should be covered within the rental package. But I’m absolutely petrified of driving a rental vehicle for this exact reason. I nearly laughed myself of the sofa when Liam threw coleslaw on a pig 🐷 😂😂😂
Yeah right I guess they just need to crack on .
It's such a pane when the windscreen goes....
@TripsandFeasts1 sorry to hear that , hope boss is paying 🙏
@TripsandFeasts1 congratulations with the amazing car and great it can be fixed payed by bossman. Hope no more issues will arise out there on the roads
im glad your back looking foward to this vlog hope your both ok
Those Happy Days videos always lift my spirits. They are lovely souls, living life and introducing some wonderful parts of the world to their RUclips followers. Wow Lough Hyne is Heaven on earth, I have relatives in Kinsale and another map pin has been added for my own camper journey.
Thank you, you are very kind. Yes definitely get to Lough Hyne, so pretty
The bioluminescence usually occurs in September when the water is warmest, all along the southwest coast
What a treat to watch this morning! Excited to see the rest of your WAW adventures.. just hope you get some sunny days along the way.
"The Cable Car looks really old...." That's the new one 😆
Absolutely stunning 🙏🙏👍
Thanks so much for showing Sheepshead! My family are all from Ahakista, but your map put you on the next peninsula, Sheepshead is the tiny thin one!
My heart is just full of joy watching guys. Lots of love to you both ❤
Such a beautiful place to visit Ireland 🇮🇪 ☘️💚
Nice to see you earlier😊 Thanks for the hug Janine. Hope you had a great time at VCO xx
Lovely stuff....esp Janine in the car! Well done and keep these great adventures coming guys x
Hello from Rhodes Greece 🥰. Oooooo my wish is to travel to Ireland, Scotland and Wales. Thank you so much for another amazing video 🙏. Bless you both ❤ Love you ❤️😘 Hugs and kisses ❤️😚
This video was EPIC. What an amazing adventure. I don't blame Janine for being petrified whilst in that rickety cable car , I would have been as well. Sorry to see the windscreen damage, hope you can get it sorted without it costing you much though clearly, not your fault that it happened. Been a bit low due to life in general and your video really cheered me up, and made me want to visit Ireland again as I've not been in years. Those piggies were so sweet and the coleslaw bit hilarious.
🐷🤣
So pleased you enjoyed it and thank you for the advice 😀
You sometimes have to use your hand or a stick or something in the water, move it around and then you can see the bioluminescence. But you do have to agitate the water a bit to see it.😁😁 Absolutely beautiful place!!!
Your videos make me smile SO much!!!
Thank you x
Great video folks thank you enjoy paddy land lovely people in Ireland and great beer.
We get that on our Bassin d'archacon around 5 in the morning, you need to sleep on a boat to see it, amazing. We were in a similar place to you in Galicia and I'm sure it would be great there as well. We were on a tiny camp site with a view of a fjord with a beautiful tiny beach, crystalline waters and dolphins at sunset 😊
dont worry about the cracked windscreen, I have two large cracks on my work van screen, been like it for years and does not effect mot......just inform the hire company to keep yourself covered......you dont need exaggerated headings like you have on your post to attract views, your posts are better that that........
From Ireland all my life. love that ye r exploring our little country fairness we have a lovely spots in this country. Great to see ye from Uk exploring our little island.
Wonderful video! Glad you get to see this beautiful country and document it. 🎉❤
I just watch this video. Oh my gosh, it was absolutely amazing.
The scenery was breathtaking. I don’t know how Janine went in that cable car I couldn’t of done that.
What a beautiful adventure you both are having.
Will it finish so fast? I could’ve watched you for two hours quite happily.
It was so relaxing enjoy the rest of your adventure. Can’t wait for the next one. Take care stay safe love you both xx
Glad you enjoyed it! Thank you for watching 😀

That cable car though! 😳😆
Beautiful scenery! Enjoyed and looking forward to your next video! Be safe.
Brilliant 😊.
That was a very beautiful and touching video , Thank you , so many people left Ireland like your Mum , and like some of my own family , but not many of the generations come back to see where their from , so its nice to see people like you coming back to see where your roots are ,
Thanks again for a lovely video
How wonderful! My goodness gracious! Thank you for sharing! Janine cracks me up! That was hilarious!
Lol Jeanine total empathy for getting into the wobbly cable car 💕
Very inspiring video guys. Funny in the cable car😂
I was so nervous about you coming to Ireland after seeing your epic journey through India. I thought you would be really disappointed. I am so happy am relieved to see you enjoying Ireland.
Having the BEST time thank you
Well...... I love every single adventurous bone in your bodies. This adventure was INCREDIBLE. You two are AMAZING 👌What I really like is how much time u invest in your channel, how much effort you put into obtaining the camera equipment and then living minimally. This is very admirable for sure. It's hard core and u guys obtain this simplistic and minimalistic lifestyle and embrace it with such happiness. It can't always be comfortable to work so hard and live so minimally but you push past it. And I bet there's a lot of other societal issues u push past too. Re Im told to get a proper job, a mortgage, spend a lot less time on creativity etc. But it's my creativity and minimalism that make me very happy. That's not understood in a dictatorial and capitalist society but one day capitalism will be a lot less I hope!!!! Thanks so for this AMAZING vlog and teaching us about Ireland whilst living your best lives ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Wise words
Thanks so much Kas 💖💖💖
@@ThoseHappyDays you are most welcome ❤️

Looks like an amazing adventure 🙌 some amazing scenery. Thanks as always for sharing your adventures ❤
All the best, David & Rachel 👍
Try and visit Kinsale the food capitol of Irland😋😋😋
What a brilliant Vlog guys ,shame about the windscreen, but it didn’t seem to affect the fantastic time that you had. Can’t wait for the next part of your 👏🏻👏🏻👍🏻👍🏻😃
Brilliant video. Hope the cars ok. You’re in the most beautiful place in the world. Make sure you do the ring of Kerry it’s amazing !
Couldn't help but laugh at Janine on the cable car but only because I can totally relate. My mum once went on the London Eye and had to lie flat on the floor until it ended 😅 great video as always 💚🌱
Greetings, and enjoy your travels in Ireland. I hope the tourist board make use of both your skills. Be safe out there.❤

You should!
Your videos just keep getting better and better Liam and Janine! They are fantastic! 🎉❤❤😊
Glad you like them!🙌
Wow! Loving this trip. Beautiful!!💖
Lovely, I’m itching to go back with the van. It was one of my fav holidays ever
Beautiful scenery. I'm with Janine with regards to cable cars. I was on one years ago in Tenerife going up to mount tiede. Everyone was screaming when we went through the pylon thing that bumps. Never again. Great video.
Great video! Laughed my head off at the cable car saga!! 😂😂😂
Epic landscapes!! Looks amazing
Fabulous video and scenery. Had to laugh at Janine's response to the cable car - I'd be the same.
I’m so with you on this Janine! Glad you survived ❤😂
Stunning scenery. I couldn’t have handled that cable car. Hilarious and terrifying at the same time! Thanks for sharing.
Loving your Irish trip❤Keep Smiling😊Stay Safe 😊
Thanks for a great week. Janine you were so funny. Stay safe ❤
Absolutely amazing ❤ can’t wait for next week xx you two are awesome ❤
Thank you so much!!
No ! By the looks it is not in the drivers vision , ie it’s not obscuring !!!
The cracked screen , it is not a police matter no MoT as for now it does not cross into your drivers vision. Although sometime it will need replacing
Sorry. Wish You Well
Absolutely Beautiful!! Thank you Thank you for sharing ❤
Thank you! 😊
Oh and Gaffa tape each side like butterfly stitches….that will take a wee bit of the pressure from the vibrations until you get it sorted. Loving vids ❤
Thanks for the tip!
Strangford Lough in Northern Ireland is the largest saltwater lake in the British Isles (150 Sq Km) and will dwarf that lovely lough you visited in this video. It's almost entirely fully saline except for 2 small areas where rivers flow into it.
Yes it’s breathtaking , the Irish are very blessed to have such beauty .
Glad to see the latest Those Happy Days vlog and it's worth the wait. Love 💕Janelle & ❤Liam and the food is 😋as always.
This trip is going to be epic , what a great start . Great video as always .
I laughed at the coleslaw on the pigs 🤣 I'm really loving the ireland vlogs its easily forgotten how truly lucky I am to live in such a scenic country 💚...Thanks for all the beautiful scenery clips 👌
You are indeed very lucky, its BEAUTIFUL
Welcome to Ireland guys. Loved the football conversation..lol, the cable car..lol...I think when you complete your trip that you might comeback as there are so many routes for you to try and experience. Stay safe and sure the crack is just part of the trip.
100% we are going to come back to Ireland! It's such a fun place
Awesome spot, you lucky buggers. Love you lots. 💚💚💚💚💚💚💚💚💚💚💚💚💚🙏
wow absolutely stunning park ups!!! poor janine, well done for doing the cable car, im the exact same when it comes to ferris wheels, I've become a right scared wreck now as im getting older
You were very brave, Janine, going on that cable car at all. Not sure I would have done.
I live in Cork and over the years have done a lot of sailing on the south west coast of Ireland. I know Lochine (Lough Hyne) and have been in and around it but have not particularly associated bioluminescence with it. Personally I have experienced that bioluminescence in the open sea in the general area of Baltimore. My understanding is that it has to do with the presence of plankton.
Lochine is an inland lake which is exposed to sea tides. There is a constant interplay between the freshwater and the sea water. This is what is unique. Lochine is half sea water and half fresh water.
I love your videos I drive a VW California T6 as my daily drive and any of the narrow roads / lanes you referred to would not put me off. VWT6 has the same footprint as a big car.
The craic will get better but the crack will only get worse. I've done 'some' of the Wild Atlantic Way in my VW bus, its beauty is stunning - You will definitely need more time than you think to complete all of it. Best of luck 🤓
Lovely, just fantastic xxxx
Fantastic adventure great watching.... well done Janine for conquering your fear in the cable car.... hilarious!😅
Fantastic aerial views! Safe travels 👍🏻
Brilliant video guys thanks,Janine I was with you I hate cable cars and chair lifts bless you and liam was making it worse by standing up .cant wait to see rest of Ireland so beautiful. Safe journey to you both .i laughed when liam through scraps over pig xx
I’m so jealous. I wish it was me who was there right now. I’ve always wanted to go to Ireland and you have just shown me how spectacular it is. Thanks guys xx
Janine I sympathise with you on cable car. I was same on one in Barcalona, it had glass bottom,& I'm terrified of heights!! I crawled out of it on all 4s... fortunately I was able walk back down.
Delighted to see you in my homeland & Cork. What a pity the weather so bad. Enjoy rest of trip😊
I really hope you are enjoying Ireland. I found the man you spoke to about football entertaining. His accent was so strong. Best wishes from further along the Wild Atlantic Way.
What a great video, absolutely stunning countryside, thank you so much for sharing the views.
yes that’s a pretty knarly crack in your window, hope you can get it sorted sooner rather than later. Haha, that cable car looks so cool, although with the high winds I’m sure it could produce a butt clenching experience on the wrong day lol, love the dodgy door lol.
Stay safe, look forward to the next instalment ❤
Thanks mate, really pleased you enjoyed it 👍
Lovely beautiful views in Ireland 😊
Hi, am enjoying watching your Irish trip. If you are going on the Tarbert ferry I would highly recommend going to Kilkee. There are plenty of places to park up and you really need to go back the West End to the Pollock Holes and then beyond to the cliff walk. In my opinion it's far better than the Cliffs of Moher. There's a natural amphitheatre and Kilkee is full of fascinating history. The famous print of Chè Guevara was drawn there, and one of the Bronte sisters honeymooned in a house beside Dunlicky Road, on your way to the Cliff Walk. There's too much to mention but if you get there I don't think that you will be disappointed.
Missed you both, nightmare with the windscreen, should be covered on insurance may have to pay an access, Ireland looks fantastic and those pigs, made me laugh Liam throwing food all over it😂Janine yr so brave going on that cable car, enjoy yr adventures thank you for sharing with us, 💋❤️
Epic drone footage! xx
