Thanks Dan for all the videos you make!! It's totally because of you and Klesh that I have stayed on a straight path! My family and I have had a lot of darkness in our family in the last 8 years. And awhile back I got into some trouble and unfortunately turned to drugs to relieve my anxiety and depression. Well 2 months ago my 30yr old brother passed away and this time because of you and Klesh and what y'all do I found a new path! So thank you very much for what you do! Please don't stop!!! ....also I'm getting ready to buy a couple bags of your pay dirt and can't wait to get started!!! 🙃🙂🙃🙂 ~From down in Virginia (USA) -Zman
Hey Dan just wanted to say thank you for inspiring me to explore a new hobby. Im up in redding CA. I found my first deposits of Placer gold up here on the creek. All of your videos have not only offered education and training but have kept me quite entertained. Thank you Dan Hurd. You don't know me but you made my life a lil bit better.
I think those little clips you edited into the previous videos covering the difficulty of the material did an excellent job of explaining why the material is the way it is and why you chose it.
Dan, I absolutely love that you use the most difficult material to find. which would be very common for all of us. I would have to say that your assessments of these pans have been more than fair an accurate! Thank you so much!
Am new to panning and fossicking but have to say I like this man's attitude towards what he does, enjoying watching and learning, not only how to but also the composition of the different minerals too - Thank you for your time, effort and honesty
Other than the financial pressures to find enough money to live one, I could not imagine a nicer place in the world to work, live and bring a family up. Thanks for sharing your knowledge and the little bit of paradise.
Dan, I’m glad to see you are so very fair as you test this equipment. If I was in a position to go gold panning, I would be paying attention to everything you say. I have a lot of your videos stockpiled so I have lots of entertainment to keep me busy. Glad to see your family with you enjoying the beautiful weather and the gold!! Hope you are all healthy and stay that way. Our news never mentions the virus statistics in Canada so I hope it is less than us in the US. Be safe and hug everyone for me. I wish I was there with you all but I am too old and not healthy to be there. It doesn’t stop me from wishing!!
Very neat👍 would definitely trust it. Thank You for all the time, thought, and money you've put into this series. These aren't inexpensive pans and you have a great selection. As far as you being inexperienced....we will be also. Now we can at least have the general idea on what conditions are/aren't required and can apply them to our own needs, ability, and environmental limitations. 🤝
I'm actually quite surprised that pan did so well. As fast as you were moving it, and with that much material, being flat I thought it would have 40% loss. But the results proved otherwise. Pretty impressed with that pan
I came up with a similar idea and use it more as a concentrator to remove the lightweight and oversized material very quickly but it does require still water
I'm impressed that had the recovery rate of what I figured the the pyramid and flow pan would have. But I had no incling of what this one would do. Very nice dan !! Ty
I have another huge rock from Nevada that looks like copper fools gold and the copper veins that run throughout the whole rock are gorgeous. It's got tiny little copper colored crystals by the veins. My rocks make my eye's feel good. I'm going back to Nevada soon and I'll take them with me to find out just what I have to. Some look like their ready to be set in gold. God bless you
Only you Dan could dream up that big tub to stand in for your demonstration. Hats off on keeping a level playing field for all pans. Guess we’re going to need bigger backpacks to drag that bad boy around!
The reason the flat pan is so effective is that the raw material is quickly spread out to cover a wide area of the pan, but at a very shallow depth. The gold can then very quickly work its way down to the surface of the pan where the ridge design, in turn, quickly works its way to the center in a sort of “ratchet” movement.
Perhaps redo the Pyramid and the Hold Hog pan fresh reviews in your bigger stand-in pond? This may give a better evaluation? Or keep a level playing field.
Great job. Interesting result... though as you pointed out there would be some situations where this pan would be compromised or difficult to use. Imagine fast water could be a problem...
Good work Dan. I see some problems do. This is a good setup for the Batea pan but Gold Hog will want to try it this way in more water! Next you took a lot of time to fill this pan. And true, you can improve your movement with this pan! Good show, great pan.
I saw a skinny Sasquatch go by in the background. Well maybe it was just a jogger. Fascinating pan and quite impressive. I am thinking that it must require very still water to operate or your material might blow right off the top in a river. Excelled in that tub. Thanks for showing us!
The few times you let material slop over the sides at the beginning could well be the only source for that little bit of gold. Maybe if you started with less material, could it be considered as a finishing pan?
Wow that was fast! For Gold yes. But Being a Garrett guy the Swiss have made a fast pan with a great recovery. Fred has them next week he said. Great review Dan! Looking forward to the Next One!
Well, you can't argue with the facts. A flat pan - who'd a thunk it? That was fun. Would like to see it taken right down like you do with the Garrett. Thanks Dan.
Well that is an interesting pan. I had actually never heard of this one either! Thanks for the video Dan Hurd! I wouldn't mind having one but at that price, I will leave them to the competition gold panner crowd. Maybe crank off a floating knock off on the lathe.
I'll put that pan up against my Avedis 15" crash that I actually use to pan after the big salad bowl. Very first thing I thought of when I saw your video and had to see yours work. They are both the same but I think your flat pan get's better results. "maybe" I'm not too sure yet ! I'm forced to use what I have for now. When I go out again this Summer and Fall, I hope to change that. Last year was scoping, this year will be testing.
I had a secret feeling this one would be the best, crazy capture rate even for someone as new to the pan as you Dan, imagine if you had some more time to practice maybe 95-97% capture rate. Definitely makes the price seem more reasonable for how tough that material is to pan through
As an observation I thought there might be times when material fell off without being stratified so maybe there was a little too much on the pan but wow that was impressive.
THIS WAS THE PAN IVE BEEN WAITING FOR!! ...if you managed to get 90% being a total beginner at using it.. im assuming with practice this pan would get over 95%....IMPRESSIVE!!.....got one more left...Great Video Danno!
I honestly didn’t think much of this pan early on. Then you said “speed panning competitions” and I took notice. It makes sense it holds the gold since it has ring after ring of riffles, but to watch it go. Wow that looked like the easiest of them all. Looks like you need roughly 3 feet diameter area to shake and spin, so if you have a place yo can blast through material and have enough water, you are in good shape. I’m looking forward to the batea pan. Similar idea, no riffles.
Wouldn't all the gold pieces have to weigh the exact same to do that ? If he loses ten pieces that don't weigh the same as the three pieces of the last pan, then you get what ? The same pieces don't fall out each time.
I enjoyed all the evaluations of the gold pans. No offense to anyone, but I think I will just continue to use my Super Sluice. It works really well. I guess I"m old fashioned.
Oh my gosh! I’ve never seen a flat pan like that! I would totally be worried about loosing gold! But of coarse I’m a novice👍🏻 prospecting is so much fun! I love it👍🏻 be safe Dan and HH⛏🎧
I have watched the series, and I got to say I was very skeptical when I first saw this pan. However, thinking about the mathematics of the pan, and seeing your results, it very well seems to be a great tool. I do have one question about it though, which I am sure you may already have in mind to film at a later date, but how well does it function in moving water like the Frasier? Do you basically need to be standing in still water? Also, seems that most would be by the shore to fill the pan from their pay dirt, and it seems like it would be devastating to ones back in a prolonged production run. Just a few initial thoughts.
fantastic result for a new(ish) pan ,I wonder if it would work as well as a clean-up pan for ultra fine gold when you've practiced your technique a bit? it looks like a smaller version might work well for clean-up without breaking your back as well. I am getting so engrossed in this series that I forget to hit the like button ,sorry Dan.
I wish I could afford to send you a big bag/bottle of the cons from the little river near me.. I know it doesn't have much gold in it but it does have a lot of black sand including non-magnetic and white sands too that are powdered zirconium which is incredibly heavy too. I'd love to see you try to pan that stuff, both you and Shane. Unfortunately I'm perma-broke and digging it out isn't the easiest thing for me to do.
If its milled, the price is still cheap. Most likely there is a person standing at the machine and loading it with material and runs one pan for every cycle. Plastic injection molding that's used to produce other plastic pans is way faster and its pretty much automated. Great video as usual.
I I use all my Big beautiful rock's to keep my doors open in the summer time. I do have a lot of different Jules so I keep them locked up. God bless you
Hi Dan, I have a question for you. I have this 3 pound beautiful rock from Nevada. This rock I found is I think very white crystalish rock with blue lines banding through it and it has fools gold on it too and in some places it has a bright yellow color running through outside too. It's so clean. I was wondering if you know what the silver lines are that run throughout this beautiful rock. It looks to me like silver pencil line's . The thing that weird to me is it looks like piright that hasn't formed yet because all the fools gold is formed correctly throughout the rock. I've got to say when I pulled this rock out of the ground it was a clean and smooth as a babies but. God bless you Dan and thank you for sharing yourself and your knowledge with us. I appreciate you. 🙏💰🙏💰🙏💰
Dan i guess the flat pan is sooper cool and very easy for paning because you can get rid off the dirt from all the four sides ie front, back, left and Right side while the deep pan is much complicated ,time consuming and difficult skill to master because you have to get rid off the dirt only from the front side???am i right.I have no experience practically at all but i love you videos and othe prospectors, you can say i am very keen observer.
Hi I just got done watching the conclusion before this video. I was wondering if u could use a wheel barrel likea big pan and how many buckets could u do at a time. Would love to see if in a video
I think you should have tested all your production pans in that large bin. I think the pyramid and flow pan would have done better. Keep up the good work. I really enjoy your channel.

Portability of the flat pan is a possible plus. I too am amazed at how well it did. CHEERS Steve h.

I bet some guy used an old vinyl and went "HEY..this works on fine gold!"
i wonder if it was goldie?
Oh yeah, you know it . lol that's probably exactly what happend.
Just as long as it was a Burt Bacharach album haHA! WaPOW!
I'm thinking one of the doobie brothers tried it
Ha ha ha! Totally makes sense!
I think those little clips you edited into the previous videos covering the difficulty of the material did an excellent job of explaining why the material is the way it is and why you chose it.

Best results so far! This is our favorite so far! Thanks for sharing!
Our pleasure!

Wow, 90% capture rate ! That’s impressive. Thank you Dan.
I was amazed the flat pan had such a high recovery. It looks like all the gold would just wash off the edges.
I didn't know that speed panning was a thing, I continue to learn more and more from watching your channel...thank you 😊
I absolutely love just how honest you are.! My father always taught me if you can't tell the truth, DON'T TALK.!!! 🙏💯💪🇺🇲🍭🍭🍭😁👍👍
I'm actually quite surprised that pan did so well. As fast as you were moving it, and with that much material, being flat I thought it would have 40% loss. But the results proved otherwise. Pretty impressed with that pan
6:29 - That one larger gold piece in the tailings, might been from the small amount of unpanned material you dropped from the shovel at 6:29
Ya probably
Thanks Dan. You are the man!
I came up with a similar idea and use it more as a concentrator to remove the lightweight and oversized material very quickly but it does require still water
I'm impressed that had the recovery rate of what I figured the the pyramid and flow pan would have. But I had no incling of what this one would do.

WOW Dan you are one Lucky guy ! what a beautiful place to live.

This was the one I was really curious about. It reminds me of the spiraling wheel and seems to have similar properties.
If the pro competitors all use it it must be good.
That's just breathe taking land!God bless Dan the Gold Man!🙏🍻
Perhaps redo the Pyramid and the Hold Hog pan fresh reviews in your bigger stand-in pond? This may give a better evaluation? Or keep a level playing field.
My apologies to Doc and Gold Hog... Typo there. Apparently I'm losing my gold accreditation, when I can't spell GOLD properly.
Great job. Interesting result... though as you pointed out there would be some situations where this pan would be compromised or difficult to use. Imagine fast water could be a problem...
The flat pan was amazing although not being able to use it in a bin is a disadvantage. But if you have accessible flat water it's fantastic.
Good work Dan. I see some problems do. This is a good setup for the Batea pan but Gold Hog will want to try it this way in more water! Next you took a lot of time to fill this pan. And true, you can improve your movement with this pan! Good show, great pan.
Dude, you had me worried. I thought you were going to drop your phone into the pool. And a great job not falling. That is a big pan.
I'm really enjoying this comparison series. Thank you, as always, for your video.
Answers my question. Thank you for bringing this missed video to my attention. Not bad at all!
You bet!
I'm loving it.
It looks like it's worth the money just in the time you save using it.
I saw a skinny Sasquatch go by in the background. Well maybe it was just a jogger. Fascinating pan and quite impressive. I am thinking that it must require very still water to operate or your material might blow right off the top in a river. Excelled in that tub. Thanks for showing us!

This is the one I was waiting for Dan! Keep up the great work Sir!
Wow that was fast! For Gold yes. But Being a Garrett guy the Swiss have made a fast pan with a great recovery. Fred has them next week he said. Great review Dan! Looking forward to the Next One!
Thanks for the info!
Well, you can't argue with the facts. A flat pan - who'd a thunk it? That was fun. Would like to see it taken right down like you do with the Garrett. Thanks Dan.
Dan that was impressive. Your river might be in full flood but it’s beautiful
Dan this looks to b the best so far. There are probably more ways 2 use this pan just need 2 find them up thanks 4 the hard work. Troy
Surprised by the results. Have never seen this pan before and that makes it even more interesting.
Oooooh mymymy!!! Dan what have you started!?
Wow. Amazing results!
Thank you! Cheers!

Thanks for sharing your evaluation of this pan👍
My pleasure 😊
The plot thickens... I've always liked blue! 😁😁
nice to know there are many different options better to see the difference
didnt like the look of that pan but it proved me wrong well done dan
Willing to bet the gold lost was as you flooded the material. Enjoying this series. TY Dan!
As an observation I thought there might be times when material fell off without being stratified so maybe there was a little too much on the pan but wow that was impressive.
I like this pan! Looks pretty easy to run
The super sluice is my choice, thanks for making my overall choice easier to pick
Good choice!
you're on a winner with that one dan!!!
Dan, thank you for sharing.
My pleasure!
Like you said WOW good results thanks for sharing Have a good day and prospect on
Another great video. I’m speechless. Thanks again Dan.
THIS WAS THE PAN IVE BEEN WAITING FOR!! ...if you managed to get 90% being a total beginner at using it.. im assuming with practice this pan would get over 95%....IMPRESSIVE!!.....got one more left...Great Video Danno!
Absolutely!!
I went into this video, pretty cynical, you sir, have just broadened my horizons . very impressed! Good video.
That is quite impressive AND counterintuitive. Thank you.
Glad you liked it!
@@Danhurd The whole series has been quite informative and objective. Lot of work.
I honestly didn’t think much of this pan early on. Then you said “speed panning competitions” and I took notice. Wow! Didn't expect that.
Great video Dan. Thanks
I sure didn't see that coming. Nice
Very good series. But this video shows why all the pans should be judged by weight loss. Very well done Dan. Good job.
Wouldn't all the gold pieces have to weigh the exact same to do that ? If he loses ten pieces that don't weigh the same as the three pieces of the last pan, then you get what ? The same pieces don't fall out each time.
Gold hog pan with a super sluice for cleanup is what I use if I don't use a sluice or highbanker
Enjoying this series. You have made me very interested in gold panning.
I'm so glad!
I enjoyed all the evaluations of the gold pans. No offense to anyone, but I think I will just continue to use my Super Sluice. It works really well. I guess I"m old fashioned.
Yes, best all around pan.
that was cool fam. GOLD SQUAD OUT!!!
Thanks for the dimo😊
Awesome awesome demonstration if at novice you did that after a year it might be a wow thanks again as always fantastic video
Keep them coming they are great videos
My wife wants to try this one. So thanks for the great vid! Liked n watched ads.
Thank you 🤗
Nice video, Thanks Dan. The next one should be interesting as it was not on the first of the series.

Hay Dan on video time 11:16 in back ground claim jumper or big foot
Thank you Dan, the flat pan is as you said, awkward. It's too big. The manufacturer could consider making several different sizes.
That was cool. But so high priced. Love the setting.
Hi Dan, I have a question for you. I have this 3 pound beautiful rock from Nevada. Yes sir Mr Hurd you are my favorite leprechaun! Keep track finding that gold....
Going through a whole bucket in 3:30 with that capture rate not bad at all
Dan i guess the flat pan is sooper cool and very easy for paning because you can get rid off the dirt from all the four sides ie front, back, left and Right side while the deep pan is much complicated ,time consuming and difficult skill to master because you have to get rid off the dirt only from the front side???am i right.I have no experience practically at all but i love you videos and othe prospectors, you can say i am very keen observer.
Hi I just got done watching the conclusion before this video. I was wondering if u could use a wheel barrel likea big pan and how many buckets could u do at a time. Would love to see if in a video
Man iv watched this video many times and it's awesome!
You could use a lp record for very fine capture. Cheaper.
I think you should have tested all your production pans in that large bin. I think the pyramid and flow pan would have done better.
Keep up the good work. I really enjoy your channel.
On your river could u get loads of those gold collecting mats and have them actually in the river , and be able to check them once a day ?
boy it doesn't look like it'd do well but looking forward to seeing how it plays out!
I’m really enjoying these videos
Glad to hear it
That was impressive 👌🙌
I never thought about a flat pan even catching gold let along do the best, but watching it work it does make sense,it's why we like out Garret it's got a big flat bottom
