Love how she's unadulterated. She's speaks her mind and that's rare, most people with a platform are so afraid to speak and constantly worry about being politically correct that they remain mute. Jameela and Priyanka are my 2 favourite speakers, they know their stuff and aren't afraid of anybody, great role models.
Every time I hear Jameela speak, I am hooked and I laugh so much and I get a lump in my throat each time. She is an amazing, wonderful and inspiring human being. If she is the future of women, hip, hip, hooray!!!
The only thing that bothers me is that it sounds like they’re implying that men can’t experience trauma, I’m autistic and was left to suffer in silence, attempted suicide a dozen times, that’s also traumatic. We seriously need to STOP treating social issues like it’s a competition.
@@jabreabennett8597 Stop acting out like a black woman. You are wrong, and confused. There's nothing traumatic about being a girl, even a repulsively ugly one. Literally all of human society and its economic model revolves around men doing their best to please women so that they would allow them reproduce. I think you should hush your beak and try to appreciate that. You women have no idea how sheltered you are.
Can I love this woman any more? Eloquent, intelligent, driven...well done for us f your fame (and beauty!) for the good of our next generation of girls.
She is so inspiring! I agree that product ads can make women feel like there is something wrong/missing in their appearance, and that they need to buy the product in order to feel complete. I identify as gender neutral/non-binary, but I was born female so I felt some pressure growing up to wear certain clothes, makeup, etc. I remember when I had a lot of acne in high school that I would feel insecure when I saw magazine covers with women with "perfect" skin. I would actually avoid looking at my face in the mirror for too long, I just felt embarrassed at the time. Now my skin has cleared up, due to dietary changes (no gluten no dairy, organic foods) and better skin care.
Dank Dough As a white man I think white men deserve a good kicking. I’ll happily call out white men shaming for being politically incorrect when they are no longer the dominant group in society. Until then they’re fair game as far as I’m concerned.
I'm so thankful that this movement is so loud, because hopefully my daughter won't have to grow up in the toxic environment that my generation had to grow up in. The early 2000s wasn't a very positive era for women's body confidence.
Such an inspiring human ❤️ These things are important. Fighting for equality doesn't end with giving women equal rights, it ends when women *and* men are socially equal, untouched by gender norms.
Body image isn't just a women's problem. Many studies reveal that a surprisingly high proportion of men are dissatisfied with, preoccupied with, and even impaired by concerns about their appearance. One American study, for example, found that the percentage of men dissatisfied with their overall appearance (43%) has nearly tripled in the past 25 years and that nearly as many men as women are unhappy with how they look. A more severe form of body image disturbance-body dysmorphic disorder or dysmorphophobia-is an underrecognised yet relatively common and severe psychiatric disorder. Body dysmorphic disorder affects as many men as women3,4 and consists of a preoccupation with an imagined or slight defect in appearance that causes clinically significant distress or impairment in functioning. Patients with body dysmorphic disorder often present to non-psychiatric physicians, with reported rates of 12% in dermatology settings and 7-15% in cosmetic surgery settings. Although the symptoms of body dysmorphic disorder might sound trivial, high proportions of patients require admission to hospital, become housebound, and attempt suicide.3 In a study of dermatology patients who committed suicide most had acne or body dysmorphic disorder. www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC1121529/
I love you Jameela, and love everyone who made this video possible. Sometimes screaming out the word FUCK is so fucking refreshing and amazing and give me a lot of energy to redirect my focus on something that is actually good!
More i accept my body, less i buy useless stuff to change it. This is because of this incredible amount of money that brands are making that we are still seeing naked photoshopped "flawless" bodies, and sadly it will keep happening. BUT it's important that people -women & men- start to speak loud and clear that WE together because it's a matter of all people, start to BOYCOTT these brands that are promoting this pressure, and avoid advertisment of any kind : on this last point, i boycott tv also 🤣
Hi! I would love to add Russian subs here! Could you give me the permission to? We really need to hear it here! Women, ladies girls! They must have that kind of information available for them!
I really like her and all that she stands for, seen so many speeches of her; just one thing, why sometimes she doesn't allow the other person to talk?! :)
I love her so much, Jameela's the best! So smart and well spoken, I believe truly she's changing the world for the better.
I wish every girl/woman had a friend like this.

omg yes yes same here!!
You are wrong about Priyanka, just so you know she sponsor and advertise, "fairness" beauty products in India, which implies being white is "pretty.

"It's traumatic being a woman" One of the most true and yet sadest statements of all time
Be a Soldier in World war 2, this is traumatic, not this
@@kaiserwilhelmi.4598 And you know about either from...I'm guessing personal experience? ??

Interviewer every 2 mins: Put that on a T-shirt.
it will never be gone ...im afraid
how has everyone on the planet not seen this
Because nobody gives a shit about what some third world woman (women in general, frankly) has to say.

🙏❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Again: Jameela: go into politics.
She should get into pr0n. I'd buy that in a second.
I have loved all of her interviews so far but not this one. using words that covey meaning is more powerful than cussing. Cussing is fluff.
"cussing" 😂😂
“Funny as fuck?” WTF!
Do you say that to your 9 year old daughter?
