I was never asked to provide witness statements - are these not a thing in tribunals regarding missed pay?

In cases involving deductions of wages only, the Employment Tribunal does not always set directions for witness statements as the Judge will generally form a view on the documentary evidence as to whether or not an unlawful deduction has taken place. The parties can of course still give oral evidence during the course of the hearing and answer any questions put to them by the Judge. If you would like to speak to us regarding this further please contact us on 0333 999 7156 or email employmentEnquiries@stephensons.co.uk Thanks

As the claimant in a discrimination case, will I get a chance to elaborate more on my witness statement, or is reading it out the only thing I'll be allowed to do?

Employers are too fussy these days. You have plenty of companies out there with not enough employees or few who are failing to hire people due to lack of "qualifications" crap (where qualifications are not that essential) , or other insecurities crap the Gay-Gov has fed them on. Despite being perfectly able to do such roles.
