Thank you for watching! Hope you enjoy the video, a bit longer than my regular reviews, but there is a lot to talk about and a lot of Zlim that wants to charm you to forever be subbed to the channel Know this going in to the review though. This game will not hold your hand, it wont show you the ropes. It expects you to experiment, read and solve. The magic of the game is Discoverability and the sense of reward, meaning take your time, don't feel rushed and soak it in, slowly.
Hey zlim. Just wanted to say that your video's are very nice. I love this genre of games and i have been looking for a long time for a channel dedicated to it!
this reminds me so much of hexen, wrath aeon of ruin was amazing too, looking forward to this one. if you like these hub style worlds with quests and puzzles, i can recommend hedon as well (crystal heart & bloodrite)
Oh yeah it def reminds a lot of Hexen, but to me the Diablo feeling was just out of this world. I couldn't shake the feeling :D I played some Hedon, I love it :D
Great review! I bought this in early access like two years ago and finally got to play 1.0 today for a bit after work. Only 20-30 minutes in and am sick of breaking barrels! 😂. But I know this will be a long, fun ride so it’s worth it!
Thanks man! Ah man the barrels!!!!! I've come to realize that it is worth using your fire spell on them, even though you drain some mana, you keep your sanity haha
I really liked this game, but the way they managed save files kinda broke it for me. I do not really have the time for super long gaming sessions, and not being able to restart where I left off made it impossible for me to proceed cause I never had enough time to find shortcuts and finish whole segments in one go.
Oh yeah def! Gameplay wise it doesn't feel much like Diablo, but at mere glance and just sucking in the atmosphere I couldn't help but get the Diablo vibes :D
Considering the Blood West right now Thommy, I think this is either the perfect game to jump into right after or the worst thing imaginable. Both the games require a lot from you but this one even more so but not combat wise instead exploring and thinking wise :D
@@ZlimBratSki there's almost a kind of puzzle vibe im noticing. There are wide open areas and little outposts with enemies patrolling. Then you have to decide to either fight, stealth attack or avoid fighting entirely and use only sneak. I used a combination of the three approaches in a barn type structure earlier. Saw a bunch of enemies in the front yard, so I pulled back and circled around. Turned out there was a narrow staircase in the back, so I snuck up there and got some great items (some very cool potion effects) then I waited for an enemy to come close and lured them into the barn where I was waiting with the revolver loaded with cursed gold rounds :D

@ZlimBratSki I can handle a bit of the jank. 😉 Worse is a game-breaking bug or some softlock that leaves you standing there like an ass and not being able to progress in a game. 😂
@@MasterSoto There were softlocks in certain review copies mine included, but as late as yesterday I again got confirmation that it has been re solved. Thats why I never mention them in the review, because it's not reflecting the experience you will have :)

Too bad the Devs did not listen to a word we players said about the saving system and the game is already rated as "mixed" on Steam. I had so much hope for this game, let's see if it delivers.
Yeah, people didn't really understand I meant the atmosphere and feel of the game with the Diablo reference. So I added it in the description as well. Been getting numerous messages of people stating it does not play like diablo lol
Glad you liked it Zlim. I remember trying the EA release a few months back and honestly wasn't very impressed. Combat was dull and AI dumb. The weapons didn't feel right and the levels were open and boring. And the godamn barrels man. Really breaks the pace
It's a lot more polished then the EA version, but I totally understand how the can wont appeal everyone :) the open world, general pace and so on is still the same, so if those things were not for you I'd say skip this one :)
I got it on PS4 and the peat fuel canisters aren't respawning after I find them and restart game even after I put the first one in it vanished after I restarted game then same with second one. And now they don't respawn where I found them anymore
I remember playing an alpha/beta of this years ago and quite liked it, was holding on for the full release but seeing that it has multiplayer made me want it right now XD Have they said if this will get a Big Box edition? or did I miss it already? still waiting for the Wrath one...
@@ZlimBratSki Thank for the quick reply! also I'd like to add that I do see it having the same atmosphere as Diablo since I read some of the other comments misinterpreted it.
I got this on release and, I have to be blunt and honest, the first Early Access version was kinda crap. It is likely one of the reasons the reviews on Steam are mixed. A very Slipgate Ironworks moment where their first showing to the public was not particularly fantastic *coughKingpinPhantomFurycough*. From everything I've seen (and from reviewers like you) it looks like they have really polished this up. Can't wait to give it a shot!
Yeah I totally agree on this, no denying that at all. But what they managed to craft in the end is a great experience, could use a bit more polish but nothing broke the experience the way it did in EA :)
Zlim does the game have difficulty settings? I'm the type of gamer that likes to usually pick the hardest difficulty otherwise I don't feel challenged.
It does, I explain it in the video. the difficulty does not change health or damage numbers but the amount of enemies on the map and the death penalty :)
I whould like the game but this bugged mess dont let me. I was 3 houres into the game and collected the first fuel canister. Then i exit the game to the title screen. Not able to watch the full video atm, but quick question, what are the important improvements from early access? Been excited for this one but I heard mixed reviews from the early access version.
Read the journal and do some exploring and I'm sure you will figure it out, if I can I'm positive anyone can. But I agree at times the game needs better guidance, its exhausting playing for long sessions. Each weapon serves a purpose, experiment, don't be afraid and you will start putting them to good use. (Think video game logic)

About the game, though, it looks amazing and fills me with wonder and wanting to explore - and I love that in a game No map, and instead you have to learn the level, use the journal and play detective ... - that sounds awesome! But certainly means the level design and the journal entries have to be really well designed - sounds like they almost are - I suspect I'll still have to use walkthroughs The AI does look kind of bad though right? - like they've all got zombie AI or something The stamina bar, weapon swapping, spells against enemies and weapon bar are all a shame - I hope they get patched or modded The physics seem kind of strange eh? I usually have to completely pillage every area to go into when I'm playing a game so too many barrels could annoy me also!

This is the most anticipated game of 2024, because you know, 2024 looks dull in terms of games. Paid review, the game is absolute mess 3/10 at max.

for a modern game, it actually looks terribly pixelated without being intentionally so. even your attempts at salesmanship do little to cover this. no wonder you always use such short clips.
It's very much intentional to look that way lol.. I didn't try to hide it for a second, it looks gorgeous with its retro styled pixelated graphics. The short clips are for other reasons.
You can’t seriously think that lol. It looks good and it’s definitely intentional.
Are you feeling okay? Short clips? There's no minimum or maximum requirement.
Can't wait for full release.
I wonder what happened to a game I really want called: Wrath: Aeon of Ruin.
Do you, by any chance, have any news on this game?
Full release comes out at the end of next month bro
Oh yeah it drops in 1.0 on feb 27 I will talk more about it in my next video dropping :D
