What is the purpose of the first four screws (the ones under the sticker)? What do they hold in place?

The 4 screws hold the mic covers on each side in place. Once you get the covers off, you can access the next set of screws inside.

this was painful to watch, use the right tools and you won't tear the rubber because it comes off with the plastic and you don't risk destroying the camera going at it all ham fisted with a screwdriver as a pry tool
