I think Hermes secretly loves that people resell their bags for obscene amounts of money. If they didn’t, they’d make it much easier to get one. It’s their fault this is happening. It’s messed up. I understand the Constance being hard to get since they don’t make them anymore. But it’s really unfair that they decide if you are worthy of the bag. It’s nuts. Make me not want one.

Great video! You’re a great researcher. However, it’s a misconception that the store doesn’t know what they’re getting from Paris. Almost every store is able to order a certain amount of birkins every semester (twice a year). If you work with an SA higher up in the store’s food chain you tell them what you want and they put in your order in January or June and then it arrives in the next few weeks. You get exactly what you want. It’s called a podium order. I’ve been lucky enough to have SAs at different stores who are able to do this for me and explain the process. Just thought you would like to know since you like knowledge!

Haha absolutely not - when i scored this birkin, it was my first ever purchase from Hermes. I had never shopped at their stores before, anywhere in the world. As i mentioned in this video, there are 4 ways to score a birkin/kelly - if you don't have purchase history or a good relationship with a SA, your best chance is to go preloved or Paris flagship store. Preloved is more expensive so Paris is the most economic option and that's what i did :) I wish you all the best if you're thinking of going through the same process!

You use that giant bag for weddings and dinners??? What on earth? That seems even more difficult to keep track of since you can't just keep it on the table. I use it just as a travel tote and I keep mine on my shoulder.
You're absolutely right! When i filmed this video and i had just brought this bag home, i was holding onto my old habits with a previous Birkin 30 (which i sold) - that size could just work for weddings and dinners so i had the wrong assumption that i could continue to do the same. The B35 is definitely best as a travel or day tote but i personally find it too precious :( I have lugged it to the occasional dinner but it is definitely oversized for my frame - thus i am now on the search to add smaller birkins to my collection. Hopefully you'll see this in the months ahead :)
I think Birkin is a perfect work bag because it’s capacity, you don’t carry it long time, and you don’t need to open and close it like running errands.

Yes I also not an existing Hermes customer in Paris so it will be interesting to see how it goes. I think it definitely is luck and timing and also for us important to not be demanding with the SA and keep class and composure and simply be courteous and kind even if they cannot offer you anything. Gosh I’ve seen people in hermes become very upset when they are told there is nothing in stock but yet the first thing they do is ask for a birkin... as a sales associate I’m sure that can be very unpleasant as well
Sounds like a beautiful trip! Paris in May would be such a spectacular time. 5 days is great - you'll see this in my Part 2 video but it gives you plenty of chances, especially if you visit the other Hermes stores as well as the flagship. I'm not a Hermes customer in any country haha - i think they may have consolidated their database internationally so if you are registered in your own country, they may be able to identify you in their Paris system. It's an advantage but not crucial in getting a B/K or not :) Yes good behaviour is essential! Show them your dazzling smile, worship the brand and their staff...more to talk about on Thursday!

I can understand your disappointment concerning the size and colour. I also,being 1.62cm, wish to get a Birkin 30 one day. Nevertheless 35 seems pretty nice,too and it is only a few centimeters bigger. As far as the colour is concerned, I agree that Hermes creates sooo many beautiful colored bags that black seems not so extraordinary. But you have to remember that black is really an all-time classic, matches almost everything concerning your clothes and it would be easier to sell in case you ever decide to do that. For a bag that is a real investment, I believe you can’t get wrong with black. I would also prefer a gold or even a tomato red(!!!) but I wouldn’t wish to get in a black list refusing to accept the bag over and over so well done my dear! While dreaming of the Birkin or the Kelly that I may never put my hands on, (I cannot afford to build a relationship with Hermes by buying other goods from them over the years and all this ‘’approval system’’ in the shop makes me so sad and intimitated..), I bought my first Chanel bag a couple of days ago!! (A black lambskin Classic flapbag with double flap). I haven’t received it yet but I feel so excited!! Your video helped me so much decide which one to get. It was the most expensive bag I ever bought as I bought it from the Chanel boutique in Athens. I felt too scared to buy it pre-loved. To be absolutely honest with you, when i was filming this video and had several takes, my arm actually got tired just trying to hold up the (empty) bag in front of the camera. I don't mind it with my essentials (wallet, keys, phone) but the moment i start adding things to actually take advantage of the spaciousness, it's really heavy! This is exactly why i wanted the smaller sizes :( For now i'll just have to live with it and try to carry it near-empty. It's a pity!

I think Hermes secretly loves that people resell their bags for obscene amounts of money. If they didn’t, they’d make it much easier to get one. It’s their fault this is happening. It’s messed up. I understand the Constance being hard to get since they don’t make them anymore. But it’s really unfair that they decide if you are worthy of the bag. It’s nuts. Make me not want one.

Great video! You’re a great researcher. However, it’s a misconception that the store doesn’t know what they’re getting from Paris. Almost every store is able to order a certain amount of birkins every semester (twice a year). If you work with an SA higher up in the store’s food chain you tell them what you want and they put in your order in January or June and then it arrives in the next few weeks. You get exactly what you want. It’s called a podium order. I’ve been lucky enough to have SAs at different stores who are able to do this for me and explain the process. Just thought you would like to know since you like knowledge!

Haha absolutely not - when i scored this birkin, it was my first ever purchase from Hermes. I had never shopped at their stores before, anywhere in the world. As i mentioned in this video, there are 4 ways to score a birkin/kelly - if you don't have purchase history or a good relationship with a SA, your best chance is to go preloved or Paris flagship store. Preloved is more expensive so Paris is the most economic option and that's what i did :) I wish you all the best if you're thinking of going through the same process!

You use that giant bag for weddings and dinners??? What on earth? That seems even more difficult to keep track of since you can't just keep it on the table. I use it just as a travel tote and I keep mine on my shoulder.
You're absolutely right! When i filmed this video and i had just brought this bag home, i was holding onto my old habits with a previous Birkin 30 (which i sold) - that size could just work for weddings and dinners so i had the wrong assumption that i could continue to do the same. The B35 is definitely best as a travel or day tote but i personally find it too precious :( I have lugged it to the occasional dinner but it is definitely oversized for my frame - thus i am now on the search to add smaller birkins to my collection. Hopefully you'll see this in the months ahead :)
I think Birkin is a perfect work bag because it’s capacity, you don’t carry it long time, and you don’t need to open and close it like running errands.

Yes I also not an existing Hermes customer in Paris so it will be interesting to see how it goes. I think it definitely is luck and timing and also for us important to not be demanding with the SA and keep class and composure and simply be courteous and kind even if they cannot offer you anything.
Gosh I’ve seen people in hermes become very upset when they are told there is nothing in stock but yet the first thing they do is ask for a birkin... as a sales associate I’m sure that can be very unpleasant as well
Sounds like a beautiful trip! Paris in May would be such a spectacular time. 5 days is great - you'll see this in my Part 2 video but it gives you plenty of chances, especially if you visit the other Hermes stores as well as the flagship. I'm not a Hermes customer in any country haha - i think they may have consolidated their database internationally so if you are registered in your own country, they may be able to identify you in their Paris system. It's an advantage but not crucial in getting a B/K or not :) Yes good behaviour is essential! Show them your dazzling smile, worship the brand and their staff...more to talk about on Thursday!

I can understand your disappointment concerning the size and colour. I also,being 1.62cm, wish to get a Birkin 30 one day. Nevertheless 35 seems pretty nice,too and it is only a few centimeters bigger. As far as the colour is concerned, I agree that Hermes creates sooo many beautiful colored bags that black seems not so extraordinary. But you have to remember that black is really an all-time classic, matches almost everything concerning your clothes and it would be easier to sell in case you ever decide to do that. For a bag that is a real investment, I believe you can’t get wrong with black. I would also prefer a gold or even a tomato red(!!!) but I wouldn’t wish to get in a black list refusing to accept the bag over and over so well done my dear! While dreaming of the Birkin or the Kelly that I may never put my hands on, (I cannot afford to build a relationship with Hermes by buying other goods from them over the years and all this ‘’approval system’’ in the shop makes me so sad and intimitated..), I bought my first Chanel bag a couple of days ago!! (A black lambskin Classic flapbag with double flap). I haven’t received it yet but I feel so excited!! Your video helped me so much decide which one to get. It was the most expensive bag I ever bought as I bought it from the Chanel boutique in Athens. I felt too scared to buy it pre-loved. FYI in 2016 Hermes moved the stamp from the sangle to the interior corner.

Hey Evelyn thank you so much for stopping by! To be absolutely honest with you, when i was filming this video and had several takes, my arm actually got tired just trying to hold up the (empty) bag in front of the camera. I don't mind it with my essentials (wallet, keys, phone) but the moment i start adding things to actually take advantage of the spaciousness, it's really heavy! This is exactly why i wanted the smaller sizes :( For now i'll just have to live with it and try to carry it near-empty. It's a pity!
