    Hi, your videos are EXCELLENT! Thank you so much for being so detailed in your advice and thorough with the presentation of your videos. I particularly enjoy that they are so well-edited and organised - the different categories and the final summary in each video are both so useful. It’s also so lovely of you to thank your viewers.You’ve covered such a range of topics and I can’t wait to go through all of your videos and perhaps watch them several times each. I think I need to take notes as well! Keep up the
    wonderful YT work: your voice and presentation skills are superior to so many of the media “professionals” - congratulations on that aspect too. Can't wait to view more!

      Hi Rager 1000 thank you so much for checking out my video and taking the time to leave such thorough, honest feedback. I am very flattered by your kindness and i'm always grateful to meet amazing people like you. I started these videos because i felt that many of us work so hard/save so long to afford our luxury purchases, it's important we get it right. We need to be smart - luxury - consumers. I didn't realise until i started this that people like my voice - always thought i was too soft spoken but fortunately it means i'm easy to listen to haha! Wishing you a great week and looking forward to catching you again :) I'm a slow monthly uploader unfortunately haha

      Hi Alice thank you so much for watching my video and leaving such a kind comment (plus subscribing), i really appreciate your support! I believe that at some point in our life, it's not unusual for a well educated, hardworking woman/man to reward themselves with some luxury goods. I like to advocate for a smart (luxury) consumer who is aware of their options, knows exactly what they're getting and gets more for what they're paying for. When you're ready, i wish you the best in terms of finding what you love for a good price :) Next month i'm reviewing my new LV boots so hopefully see you again if that interests you. Great video as always!! It contains a tone of useful information about our beloved luxury bags!! Thank you so much for your effort to collect all this for us and explain everything so nicely!! Picture this: when you said that bags ideally shouldn’t be hang as this stretches the leather, I looked on the floor full of guilt and immediately took my Chanel jumbo off the outer part of my closet where she was hanging..😂😂😂 I put her nicely on my bed and kept on watching your video! Then I took out some of the paper with which I had overstuffed one of my bags...and so on..Lol...Sometimes you know that you are doing something wrong but still need someone to say it to you outloud in order to change it! Looking forward to part 2 of this video!! 😘😘😘

    Wow talk about impact CMK - I'm not a fancy bag user but I have one really good leather bag in a pale color that I spent hours cleaning this afternoon. So, to cut a long story short, I found your video and eureka - by 4 mins and 20 seconds I stopped the video, went off to find a couple mini bottles to fill up with leather cleaner and leather moisturizer so I can keep them in the bag, then went to amazon to order a bag clip! I am 'a guy', and guys may not be that attentive to subtle preserving of their finer items, even if they might have been expensive when bought. Some years ago I purchased some very nice black leather portfolio binders in which I displayed images of my work. The leather was so soft and supple that the person(s) I was presenting my work to would, sometimes, 'touch' the covers of my leather portfolios for several minutes - commenting on their softness - before ever opening my leather portfolio cover to view the work I was actually presenting to them. I liked this, as it created a very positive impression of my work before they even saw my actual work (in the images I wished to show them). It's been several years, and I've never done anything to preserve or maintain these black leather binders. They still look great, but - "I" can tell the leather is not as soft as it once was. I've read so many reviews of leather conditioning products that I'm confused. I know, for example, that car leather seats are often 'coated' so that conditioners are essentially useless in vehicles. I believe this may be very true of many handbags as well. Especially the lesser expensive ones that try to appear luxury. What I do not wish to do is 'experiment' with something, only to destroy that which has been so good for me - the originally fairly expensive black leather portfolio binders that made such a wonderful impression because of their softness and rich looking leather appearance that also offered an exceptional impression when 'touched'. So soft, that people couldn't stop 'touching' them. Do you have a recommendation for me? It would be so appreciated!

    Thank you for your videos. They are so full on good information however, I find difficult to remember all the detail when purchasing a good leather product. I live in American and recently purchased four pairs of leather shoes from England. Fortunately, aside from the catalog, they offered a toll free number so that I was able to discuss my purchase with an SA. After I finalizing my order, she suggested a couple to good cleaning products made especially by their company (at a bargain too!), buy two get one free. I was happy because I would have never thought to purchase these.

    All I can say is "WOW"! Love all the details my dear and I'm so excited to share with you my product soon! I think I basically much covered all your qualms and concerns about bag storage, since I too am a little O-C about keeping my bag in great condition and beautiful. I will PM you more about it on IG. I personally have only used Cadillac Leather lotion for my epi leathers (Since they are all vintage), I've never used anything for my lamb and Hermes, I just wipe them down. I will contact you soon once we're ready to launch since I do want you to try one out and possibly give me your thoughts and share it too if your happy ! I hope to work with you soon my dear! I thought my bag care was detailed, but this beats it for sure since you tackled everything I think. I focused on leather bag care. I can't wait to share our website and product with you! I did not tackle cleaning, and I did not recommend any product for bag care just because I did not want to be blamed for any problems LOL! But my site is something else overall than yours, so your honesty and suggestions are definitely a MUST for your VLOGS. I love magic eraser too for my patent/pvc type bags and even on saffiano (when lightly used). I love Bar Keepers friend made into a light paste with water for some of the hardware, I haven't tried using it on Chanel and Hermes though.

      Hi Alice thank you so much for watching! I've never tried a dry cabinet, that's very creative solution. If your home is HIGH humidity so difficult to manage with the standard de-humidifer products, i would suggest testing out a cheap bag first - the risk is that leather (as skin) would be dried out over time, as it does need air to breathe. @cmk7585  3 года назад

      Hi J Lee thank you so much for watching, i really appreciate it! In regards to determining if your home (especially where you store your handbags) is humid or not, you can purchase a hygrometer. However generally you'll be able to tell if humidity is a problem if you notice mold growing where it shouldn't eg. the inside face of wardrobe doors & mirrors (mounted on the inside face of wardrobe doors). Look out for mold in darker and poorly ventilated spaces like storage cabinets, storage boxes etc. Wishing you a wonderful festive season and hope to see you again next month for the topic of my vintage Chanel Duma backpack repair (by a third party) if that interests you :) Happy new year!

    Hi your tips is very useful. I have a question, is it recommendable to use dehumidifiers in your walk in closet? I have a delonghi dehumidifier and I’m curious if it will not dehydrate the bags due to this? Thanks

    • @cmk7585
      @cmk7585  3 года назад

      Hi Denise Bengua thank you for stopping by! Re dehumidifiers, it really depends on your specific climate & home condition - do you have noticeable excess moisture in your rooms, especially your walk in closet where you store your bags? For example in my home which is in a lush/heavily vegetated environment, mold has a tendency to grow on our 2 lower storeys (where i store my bags) so that justifies my use of dehumidifers. If your walk in closet & adjacent dry areas (bedroom etc) have NO sign of mold, then there really is no need to use dehumifiers just for the sake of it. That's where you may risk dehydrating the leather instead. Hope that makes sense? I'm taking a break from YT to prepare for my baby's arrival next month but hope to catch you again in the future when i return - take care!

    • @cmk7585
      @cmk7585  5 лет назад

      Hey there SBdunks3 thanks so much for watching and leaving a kind comment, i really appreciate it! Saddle soap is divisive - some people swear by it, others have warned that long term it can be too intense for more fragile leathers. I haven't used it personally so i would suggest that you perform a tiny patch test, let it dry and observe how your 'cleaned' leather holds up. If there's no colour or texture change, it should probably be safe to apply over the entire leather part. This thursday i am uploading my review of the Bvlgari Serpenti handbag so hope to see you again if that interests you. Take care!

    Hi! I would like to thank you for being on RUclips. I appreciate how extensive your research and content are. I always learn something new and interesting with you. I would like to give you feedback-- your sound quality can use some work. Your video volume is quieter then ad video volumes. That is the only unfortunate experience when i watch your videos. Thank you so much otherwise.

      Hey there A F thank you so much for watching and taking the time to leave such thorough feedback, i really appreciate your kindness! You're absolutely right, my audio isn't professional and some upgraded audio device is definitely on my wishlist. I think the only problem is that i keep prioritising my luxury wishlist instead...! But one day i will aim to get there :) Later this month i'll be uploading my review of the Bvlgari Serpenti metallic bag if that interests you. Have a great week!

    Hey thank you for making this video , but i would like to know if it is okay / alright & safe to clean our branded goods wallets & key holders @ home D.I.Y ? Thank you very much as i don't have time to send it to the bag cleaners as most of them are pre-loved but one of my key holder from loewe is goats leather .

      Hi AdamAldo Smith Mitch thank you so much for watching, it's great to hear from you! There's nothing stopping you from DIY and it can be effective if you clean accidental marks as soon as they happen (stains get harder to clean the longer they sit) although of course the effectiveness/safety of the product can vary depending on what you're using and what canvas/fabric/leather you're treating. It's hard for me to give you a definitive answer since i don't know the specifics but just always spot test and know when to stop experimenting/when to leave it to the professionals. I just uploaded re Chanel's after sales fine print and how to have your bag repaired when it's refused service by Chanel. Hope to see you again if that interests you :) Enjoy your sunday!

      Hi AA thank you for watching, it's good to hear from you! Tissue paper come in different grades of quality but assuming it's original brand packaging, there should be no problem :) I store the original tissue paper alongside all my designer shoes and have had no issues for years. But otherwise like with most side hobbies, i do my own research and have learnt a lot by collecting luxury goods first-hand over the past 6 years. Definitely no formal training though! • @cmk7585
      @cmk7585  5 лет назад +1

      Hi Alexis thanks so much for watching! I have to admit it's been a while since i filmed this video and i personally don't own any MCM bags....but the protector products i recommended in the video are the most popular on the market so i would recommend performing a small patch test and observing the effect after it dries. I'm not sure what the difference (if any) is between MCM & LV canvas - if they're very similar, hopefully the products that work well on LV canvas should work for you too (they're the one's mentioned in my video). I just uploaded my review of the Gucci x Globe-Trotter GG Beauty Case Trunk handbag so hope you can check it out if it interests you. Have a great week!

    Hii... i just want to go straight cause im not rlly great at english im afraid if im misuderstanding what u said in this video 😂😂 is that okay to storage the bag (with the dust bag, silica gel, and a bunch of paper that coming with a new bag) in the close wardobe but in my bedroom (?) i used a air conditioner in a night is that okay (?)

    • @cmk7585
      @cmk7585  5 лет назад

      Hi Vanessa thanks for watching and leaving a comment! Do you know the climate of your room? Does it tend to get dry or is it humid? What you have said about your storage (dust bag, silica gel, and a bunch of paper) sounds fine, especially since you leave it in a closed wardrobe so there's no light on it. It's just that if your room gets dry, you won't need the silica gel and you may need to condition your (leather?) more often. If your room gets humid, the silica gel is great but you should still aim to take your bag out for fresh air & sunlight every now and then to prevent growth of mold etc. Next month i'm uploading on a luxury jewelry sharing platform in Australia if you're interested. Have a great week!

    I once put KFC in my 500+ dollar designer bag and the hotwings started to leak out all the frying oil.. :(
    Lucky enough I was able to get the greasiness out of the lining because the lining of my bag was pretty sleek and didn't absorb much of the oil, pfew... Lesson learned, put a plastic pouch in your bag for all the greasy stuff and don't put fastfood in your bag at all..

    My tips: Leather is slightly acidic. Baby wipes are destructive over time on sensitive leathers and vachetta leather, even if wipes are pH neutral.
    They don't damage Hermes bags because that particular leather is so heavily treated. It's at the other end of the leather spectrum entirely.
    Baby wipes and white magic erasers are hugely destructive to vachetta (untreated) leather over time. Don't do it!
    People do this to quickly turnover a damaged bag in the re-selling market and make a profit. If a bag looks unnaturally whitish it's had that treatment. Check with a fresh coloured microfibre and cleanser. Dab with the right cleanser and moisturiser for each couple of dabs you must turn your cloth to a fresh bit. Otherwise you're just rubbing the dirt, grime or stain in further. A water stain contains whatever else was on your bag at the time. Which is why some people swear by baby wipes after every use. It's just that it weakens the leather over time, and is why the main advocate of that now has a disclaimer on his channel.
    I've had a lot of success with Loving' My Bags vachetta conditioner and cleanser, used together. The idea is not to rub the product in and leave it; it's to use the product to dissolve the stain and remove the stain with the dabbing,
    Use clean new microfibre cloths, they are so good at picking up dust and yuck. Fantastic.
    Agree totally on persistent gentle cleaning if the stains on the bag are longer term. This is because chemically they have 'set in' to the rest of the pigments in the bag and take time and patience to remove. The removal agent takes time to lock into the stain, if that makes sense. It's also great advice to use coloured conditioners. They are really really worth it and salvage many a situation that's just normal wear and tear. You can also try to alter the colour but that's a drastic move. You need to consult with professionals on that but well worth it. Don't do it yourself, the application must be in very thin layers and best done with a special purpose spray (not a can). I've seen many a Chanel ruined by very pleased with themselves DIY RUclipsrs, not realising that it's going to crack and look awful because the new colour has been put on too thickly. Disaster.
    .
    I have had considerable prevention and cleaning success with coated canvas by using treatments for vinyl in cars.
    This protects against UV light and the silicone keeps it from cracking. Once canvas is cracked there is NO recovery.
    BUT protect the vachetta from this! It's essential to separate. You can use protective painting tape (but careful it's new not old stock, or it could stick to the leather) or just be really careful and use the cotton buds on the edges as CMK says. Patience pays off in all cases.
    For box leather and lambskin I swear by Collonil Premium Leather Cream. Finally don't let the bags rule you! Enjoy and don't fret too much as CMK says. Vachetta was originally designed to be replaced, and was used on luggage. It's a bit neurotic to worry about it as a designer item when it's actually meant to be a workhorse. 😅Nobody cared about stains on luggage. We need to lighten up a bit lol.😂

      Forgot to add: if a leather has dried out, don't try to fix it at once by slathering product on it. This will clog the leather and break it up..
      Add layers of conditioner, slowly over time. eg. weeks.
