which is crazy! it is that in this story only the vikings are able to stand up to the magic potion stuffed gaul while in reality the vikings were less powerful than the Romans
The Vikings while brutal and skilled warriors never established a unified empire like the Romans did so I'd say that the Romans were more cunning and organized then the Vikings. The only reason the Vikings did so well was because there wasn't a Roman Empire in Western Europe around to oppose them anymore by the time they arose.
Why couldn't ALL the Gauls show the same toughness and skill in battle that Asterix and the other guys from his village show here when the Romans were invading the rest of Gaul.
I feel bad for the Romans too as this time around, they didn't attack the village, they didn't even WANT to fight the Gauls from the village. If I were the Roman emperor and heard about this attack, I'd get fed up by having my troops get made fools out of by the Gauls as it would encourage others to defy the Empire so I'd have my agents steal the formula for the magic potion, mass produce it and have a large number of my troops drink it so they can conquer the village and show what happens when you defy Rome and her armies. I'd also drink the potion to become super strong in case one of my powered up underlings got too ambitious.
Actually, they've tried that. Trouble is, only the druid Getafix knows the recipe, and he's immune to torture thanks to his magic. The Gauls always rescue him before they can kill him, and whenever they run low on potion, Asterix just heads out on a quest to get whatever is needed to replenish the stock. Last but not least, Obelix is permanently under the potions effects and loves thrashing Romans. Cesar is just fighting a losing battle at this point.
@@masedaace5473 Curses. It's just that it pains me to see the Romans get beaten up all the time even IF they're suppose to be the bad guys of the series.
@@girlgarde Sorry to hear that. It gets even worse for the Romans when you take the latest movie and canon video game into account, where Getafix now has a successor that also knows the secret to the potion and the Gauls now have multiple bottles and barrels full of emergency reserves in "The Crystal Menhir". Now Ceasar REALLY ought to give up.
Don't Asterix and Obelix believe Justforkix or are not worried about the vikings because they can defend themself and are unbeatible as long they have magic potion and Obelix who's always super strong and fighting is fun for them?
Didn't the Vikings only come into existence well after the Western Roman Empire ceased to exist? It would've made more sense to have the Huns show up as they had the whole "destroy everything in their path" reputation that the Vikings had plus they actually attacked the Romans.
@@honestgoblinproductions5663 Yeah, if the Gauls in the village have magic potions to become super powerful, then I can see why the Romans near the village are beaten down and demoralized. Why don't the Romans simply try to sabotage the villagers' supply of magic potions or steal the formula so THEY can become super strong and conquer the village and everything else?
