I've wanted to build a Life OS of my own for a while too, I'd say if you can carve out the time for it then it's worth making an effort. At very least you learn more about the problems you're trying to solve which can make it easier to find an existing solution that gets most of the way there eventually.
On the HVAC conversation, I would be interested in something that effectively cycles the air between a basement and upstairs. Our basement is 10 degrees cooler and it seems like it'd help cooling the home in summer if we could move some of the basement air upstairs.
It probably wouldn't do you much good. Basement is cooler due to natural convection, if you pump that air up you will only get cooling from the amount of air that was in the basement which is probably not a large volume. In the end you will just have a hot basement. There is a temperature control method that uses underground pipes to exchange heat, ground has much higher thermal mass. It's very cheap to run but expensive to install.
@@prashank yeah, the stuff I've read said the same thing. That's why I said "effectively cycles". I have seen the shaft the add in eco homes. Seems cool. But understand that's probably big bucks to retrofit.
My problem was that I was a caregiver for my dad for 8 years and most of the projects I had on my portfolio were for sites that don't exist anymore or someone else took them over. It makes it hard to prove my experience...
US companies that are willing and able to hire outside of the US have a massive advantage when it comes to hiring. Because companies outside of the US cannot compete on salary. The US companies can have their pick of the best devs in other countries, and the local companies only get to hire from who's left. I'm actually a little surprised how few US companies do this. I think they're missing out on a competitive advantage.
Aaron's facial expression at 56:17 in reaction to "everything has to be unique and original" 😂

I work in small business. An employee isn’t in full strides until 1-2 years in! I agree!

I do really like the idea of the Life OS. Its great content!
... though maybe the personal finance feature could be served by another app 😃

@Aaron Any plans for SingleStore? Might be a bit early, but could be a banger! DB content suite would be looking even better
@aarondfrancis not sure if tags work

Thank you Ian for asking what a Life OS is 😅, but I’m not on team Todd, I don’t think Aaron looks like a Todd.
the PARA system is great
Another good one, guys! I second Todd Ra! Or maybe A-Todd.🤣
Get outta here with Todd Ra!
I don't know about Todd, but I would be ok to call Aaron Ted. He has a vibe of a familiar Ted. lol
Ted I like. Todd I do not
First 🎉
