Saw Tom open for John Mellencamp in Saskatoon Feb of 2008. This was how he closed the show. Tom went into an amazing jam like he did here only with a huge beat pounding out the final 2 mins. The kick drum was going through my chest, it as amazing and Tom left John with a hard act to follow.
Saw TomCochrane a few times in concert- - he did not disappoint. Also, saw John Cougar in London, Ontario back in the early 80's. He was an opening act for the Beach Boys. He was not happy about being the opening act for such a "nostalgic act" that he threw some of his instruments into the audience. He made the news, and I don't think he has ever been back there.
Just a great song. Thank God these performances were captured. As a drummer, these guys are twisting strings give that beat. Start a band if you're not already in one.
i just turned 31 and whenever i heard this song when i was younger i never understood that part of the song. Now i understand it because i have definitely lost and also have won in the 31 years ive been alive. seems like the part of my life where i know how it feels like to win and lose perfectly. Still i keep my dreams alive 🫡
I've been waiting for this video to come back to you tube!! somebody else had it and it was removed or not made available to be viewed in Canada. I love this remix version!!! I like the way buddy rocks that banjo and guitar at the end ;)
I cant believe how long ive been listening to this man. HAIL
I met Tom once a few years ago when he came into a coffee shop where I was working--true gentleman ❤️
This is the song I will always remember. Tom struck a very deep chord in my soul. The rest is history.
My all time favourite Tom Cochrane song , I play it every night on my drive home
Clear skies and just before a glowing sunset. Perfect road music.
Even to a 33-year-old woman from Germany this song is JUST that.
Me too. And the line “ Still I’ve kept my dreams alive ‘cause the will never die”. That one line has stayed with me all these years.
Haha same here. This and the Untouchable One are always queued up.
I heard this song while I was on mushrooms and let me tell you… it was unreal…
I love the guy in the crowd at 2:52 trying to share his appreciation of the pedal steel solo with his date!
