What a transformation! I don't get why people paint antique furniture. New mass produced furniture, yes, but antique? No way. Your attention to detail is by far the best on You Tube. And the fact that you inject some humor into your descriptions makes it so entertaining. It may not have been a "quick" project, but it was a beautiful result. Thank you for saving old furniture.
Sooooo agree!!!! ❤
That’s very kind of you! Thank you 🤩
Ottimo lavoro come sempre ☺️
Sometimes they were painted before they were antique! 😂
Sometimes they're painted to offer a layer of protection. Sometimes it's so it can be kept by the owner and painted to blend in as possibly it was too dark and heavy looking for a room. A million reasons. I don't judge (unless it was a crap paint job and then I judge. A LOT!)
I'm an 83 year old gran from Pinetown, near Durban S. Africa and have so enjoyed watching your videos for some time. My late husband and I lived in the south of England for two years. He was on a business transfer. I would like to have moved to England! The cats are entertaining to watch. You do very good transformations. Well done! Nanna N.
Hello, to my home country.
Wow! Gorgeous and amazingly creative. AndJay, you Crack me up 😂.
You are not only a professional and fancy AF, but you are also smart AF! This table is absolutely gorgeous now! Thank you for the sexy knee shot, too! I'm really loving all of your "quick" projects! 😊
😂🤗🤩💛🐾
Sometimes we all need a crying break! Hugs to your kitties.
😂😂😂😻
The tears add to the character of the finish, I'm sure.
Yes, you are a professional! It's fun to think back to your early videos when you were just figuring things out. Your attention to detail inspires me.
Thanks so much!🤩
I don't know if this is world-wide, but in the USA, lots of people are downsizing and moving to spaces that are much smaller than what they had previously. That table would be brilliant for my 750 sq ft apartment! And I think I told you before, watching you bring things back from the "dead" is always amazing to me. You are a resurrectionist! ❤
You are mad… in the best possible way. You do an insane amount of work on the pieces until perfection. Amazing. And your cat is one of a kind!
Thank you very much!🐾
A beautiful result, of course the “quick” project took much longer but you did an amazing job.
Side note: it's nice seeing Mando and Hugo getting along so well.
Thank you 🤩 and yes they are besties
From trash to treasure. Once again you’ve done a great job.
Jay, you’re more than a professional now. You’re an artist! You’ve come so far since you began!
I had to laugh at myself when you held Hugo up to the camera. I smiled & said hello Hugo to my phone 🤦🏼♀️
Fantastic result! A project always takes twice as long & costs twice as much as we think.
Beautiful - the brass elements are just right. (We are all checking out your knees now - ha ha)
Yes, his knees are exceptional, but his wrists are to die for!
Stunning, Classy, and Elegant!
Thank you 🤩
Only a “professional” would call this a QUICK PROJECT! Your techniques, tips and tricks are so helpful. And amateurs like me need all the help we can get. The table looks lovely. I would have either given up after two days, stored in my garage for months or tossed it out after a few years. You make it look so easy and it’s not. Stripping paint is often such a time consuming nightmare. It’s great that you have your kitties for moral support.
As any professional can attest: the first 80%of a project takes 80% of the time. The last 20% of a project takes the other 80% of the time.
Beautiful work, the golden touches give the finishing contrast to the dark wood. And you get funnier and funnier as time goes by!
Being ‘fancy AF’ shows in the end result! Gorgeous. I love seeing Mando and Hugo having such a great time playing together (and Mando has grown so much!). Looking forward to the introduction to your new apprentice too. 💣🥰🇦🇺
That sad little painted table really needed an extreme makeover, and you were definitely the man for the job! The final reveal looks like it came from a high-end boutique! ❤
Greetings to you and Mando from Virginia, USA! Mando is becoming quite the shop manager! Cheers!
Yay thank you 🤩
Mondo really classes up your final shots 😂. He was meant for fine furniture ❤
He actually showed up and sat in front of the table as soon as I started taking pictures 😂
@@FlippingdrawersMondo enjoys photo bombing.😅😅
Mando is becoming quite the handsome young feline.
Ohhhhh! This is stunning! Well done, you!
The contrast inside the draw was a nice surprise.
Love how Mando and Hugo get along. I think Mando has given Huga a second youth. Oh, and the table turned out great too.
Watching you work Jay, is like doing the Master Class. I am now spoiled and when I see people do strange paint projects on antique furniture I cry. Mando kitty is a helpful boy who loves working with his dad.
OMG! I just finished watching the last video of the 1930's sideboard restoration, awaiting the next upload. I realise that halfway through that video that I had seen it, but it didn't stop me from watching it again, only this time I was more focused on the entertainment of Mando and Hugo playing in the background. Lol
lol thank you ☺️ just uploaded a new video 😉
The wine vinegar made all the difference, obviously. You really are fancy AF. And a pretty good furniture restorer, too. (A new apprentice?!) I like the addition of the brass casters, and the new knob, too--like a little hint of jewelry,
I swear I saw the wood draw in a deep breath when you removed that horrendous white paint. The before condition is so bad, and your finished table looks amazing.
I love the brass casters and matching hardware on the drawer. The drawer, the drawer tracks, and the drawer stops are artisan level work.
Mando is such an adorable supervisor. I always love seeing him in your videos.
Like the dark wood against the brass. Beautiful!
Wow! Attention to details makes for longer "quick projects"!
Indeed! ☺️
I hope whomever winds up with this piece can place it in a sunny spot in their home because it looks just breathtaking in the sunshine. Wow you are so talented! You're also psychic AF cuz Bob really is my uncle 😉 Thanks for sharing.
that drawer was for a table cloth and silver ware, in a time where most people lived in tiny homes the best things, like a fancy lace tablecloth and the best silver were kept with the table they served, this piece in the US would be part of a "stand alone" kitchen, before built in cabinets....I love that table and it deserved your attention...I would totally buy it if I were near you.
Very nice. The small amount of brass looks great with the dark finish. Understated elegance. The comment about your knees made me laugh!
“Trenching” Thank you. I didn’t know about that feature.
And the clamp thingies with the stretch clamp. Thanks for that too. I never would have thought of that.
My friend... You're more than a professional; you're an Obsessive Pro! That's the reason why I still enjoying your videos... and learning. I'm a humble hobbyst (not a hobbit) and feel an absolute pleasure when I rescue an old piece of furniture and give to it a new life. Thanks a lot -from 🇦🇷- for your videos.👍🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻💪🏻.
Thank you kindly ☺️
You could have just cleaned it up a little and it would have been a quick project, BUT you literally elevated it to some sort of elite status. If that table was a person it would be in a tuxedo. The quality refinishing and fixing combined with the blackish stain and gold hardware has truly given the piece a very classy finish. You truly are... a professional.
A handsome piece - goes well with your knees & Mando!🙃
😂😂😂😻
Stunning! Gorgeous! Elegant! Masculine! I love your detailed work! There's no easy project when the piece is so old...The casters are awesome! Thanks so much for sharing
Thank you so much!😊
That looks wonderful! I do like the brass casters, they add a touch of class along with the drawer pull. Mondo was such a beautiful cat! He’s a pretty good inspector too!😅❤❤
Oh thank you!🐾
Oh, the knees! 😲 I love watching your cats at play. They certainly have a lot of energy. Once again, I'm awed by the transformation. You have quite an eye if you could see this outcome while the table was white and cruddy looking. Lovely!
Beautiful work! Always enjoy your videos and enjoy seeing Mando and the neighboring cats. This is the way!
They really love to play-fight. That's so cute.😊🥰
Yes, Sir! You are, indeed, a Professional!”
Jay: I guess you know there is no easy job. This table looks beautiful, besides it looks like it would be very functional. Kudos! Carol from California
Bengal cats are magnificent! The table looks gorgeous too, thank you for showing us your work
Thank you! 😊 they are also very loud and vocal 😂😻
Oh Wow!! That’s such a rich and beautiful color. I much prefer dark wood. Your little table would be at home anywhere in the world now. I love the drawer pull too. Excellent job!!!❤️🤗🐝
I love how you can take aweful looking pieces & give it back it's beauty like you did with this one I'm usually not a fan of darker colored pieces but this one is beautiful,,thank you for sharing your hard work with us ,,I truly enjoy the videos you make 😊
Thank you so much!
Lovely table and lovely job Jay ❤️ Mando didn't do much oversight on this project. I would like to see him even more 😁😽❤️🎉
Great result! And those professional knees!!! (swoon) 😺
An impressive transformation! May I add that I am delighted by your announcement re an apprentice. I hope their energy is a good fit. You are mellow and meditative while being a professional perfectionist.
Thank you and yes 🙂
@@Flippingdrawers ♡
Your work is awesome!!!!!!
Your finished products are BEAUTIFUL.
I love watching your videos.
Thank you so much!
One would never ever believe that little table would require so much time and effort. It looks great. I like the drawer thingie.
I thoroughly enjoyed this video, and I am in love with this table! You ARE fancy af! I appreciate your sense of humor too! Great work, Jay!
Amazing transformation Jay. Would never believe that was hiding under the paint. The castors elevate it in more ways than one. Love the drawer construction too. The standard I have come to expect from a Professional ❤👏👏👏👏👏
I'm always amazed at how intensely you restore these pieces that many might consider a lost cause.
That wood is simply gorgeous!
And I love Mondo's coat. He looks like a baby ocelot. ❤
Thank you very much!🙂
Your dark cherry & mahogany projects are my favorite!
😊 knees 🎉 I love how you professionally repaired and restored this very old table.
Thank you! 😊
Just beautiful! Your've given a sad little drop leaf table a stately and dignified new life. The brass drawer pull and casters against the dark stain are stunning. Greetings from central Texas! I look forward to seeing what you have in store for us each week.
Not sure if someone said you weren't a perfectional?
But you had me at how you organized or shop. Screw anyone who says different. Great video.
I would be very proud to have that table in my home wonderful job ❤
Thank you 🤩
Looking forward to meeting the new assistant 🎉 the table looks amazing - well worth the effort. ❤❤
Love it hard to believe it’s the same table would grace any room or style thanks for sharing 🇬🇧❤️😁🐕
Oh my, what a beautiful job you did on this challenging piece (I get why you needed three cry sessions)! And thank you for the sexy knees shot 😂
😂😂😂😂you’re welcome 😉
Jay I want to tell you how much I enjoy your videos....your level of detail, craftsmanship and sense of humor really all resonate with me. I always laugh out loud watching your videos and they have been a real blessing and a ray of sunshine through a very dark period of my life. Thank you so much. Namaste 🙏
Love your "2000 Years later" !!!!!! It looks stunning!!! Great Job!! You are a Professional!💖
Wonderful. Perfect colour, love the brass feet. And Cilla too what a surprise. 😅
Oh, well done. 👏👏👏👏 It looks amazing. The castors and the drawer pull add just the right touch of elegance too.
Thanks so much! 😊
Hugo and Mando make excellent supervisors. What would we do without ours cats?! ❤️Love your channel and the excellent work you do.
You've outdone yourself again. You could have done a quick makeover but you are too professional for that. As always you paid attention to details. I like the handle of the drawer and the casters. Great job.
Excellent restoration..turned out beautiful ❤
A wonderful job as usual. With all the scraping, sanding and "oh s**t" discoveries you keep your sense of humor. The brass casters add a classy touch as does Mando.
Jay: Massive 'short' project. Very good narration. Stunning transform. And les chats are a bonus.
You are a PROFESSIONAL. Looks fantastic, beautiful, awesome.
I can't say anything than "great!". Great in subtleness and elegant appearance. In your capability to see treasure in trashes and bringing it back! As always do I LOVE that small amount of shiny brass elements. ❤
It's always the "quick" projects that somehow eat up the most amount of time. I think, at least for me, that it is because I underestimate the project and don't plan nearly as much as I should lol. The transformation is crazy, very beautiful piece!
Such a beautiful and elegant piece of furniture from what looked like a basement or bar workshop utility table! Your woodworking skills and strong attention to detail never cease to amaze me. I’ve learned SO much about technique from watching your videos and you are definitely my favorite RUclips personality who does restorations! Please continue your work… Each video release is a treat!
Wow, what a beautiful transformation!
Such a beautiful little table! Great job.
Stunning!! And thank you for your attention to detail as well as your professionalism 😊 But I have to ask… no felt in the drawer?? 😂😂😂❤
Excellent !!! This project turn out to be a perfect example of seeing true a old piece where nobody believing in ! This is amazing and now it is even complete with the missing draw and it is fitting like a glove !! Only one remark...it was not a "Quick "project...😅😅😅!
Jay, this is a really great little table. I think the brass casters are a perfect touch. You really are a professional.
Your bengel kitty is so beautiful. I can't get enough of his romping about while you restore the furniture. My grandfather was a furniture stripper by trade, and I didn't learn anything from him, but I do remember some 25+ years ago, I found an old table that was too high to be a coffee table and too low to be a dining table. I tried to restore it, and spent hours sanding it. If I could have done the restoration I would probably still have the table.
Every your project is a piece of art 🌟
Such a beautiful transformation of something that 99% of people would have thrown on the tip. It's so wonderful to see lovely wooden furniture restored to something that will be so usefull today and in yearsto come.
I wonder if somebody will be restoring this piece again in 100 years time and saying that it was obviously restored by "a professional " at so e point in its history.
Lovely to see the cats playing - It's nice when your furry child has a friend who comes over to play at his house.
A classic example of what my husband called "concentric vortexes". You assess a problem and formulate a plan to accomplish the solution. Then you begin to implement the plan and find there are other obstacles to the proposed solution. So you devise a new plan to address what you perceive to be the new major obstacle only to find more obstacles. Etc, etc, etc. Bless you for your perseverance and endurance. As usual, the result is so beautiful as to be indescribable.
Thank you 🤩
All i can say is WOW!
A stunning piece that no longer lingers as a shabby woodworm holiday home. Glad to see it is Mando approved too.
Wow! It turned out beautiful!
It turned out gorgeous
Как всегда - шедевр! Золотая фурнитура и тёмное дерево выглядят строго и благородно. Чудесная работа.
man your tool collection is growing. glad to see ya using the electric hand plane. it is a sorta underrated tool on youtube. i remember you doing a big top a while back where an electric hand plane woulda helped but you didn't have one yet. glad to see you got one and are putting it to work. just waiting for when you move into a big place, not to have a bigger shop or anything, but to make more room for the kitties!
Hi. Thanks and yes, it’s very handy
Once again I am astounded by your skill to transform a piece of “trashed” furniture into something even better than when it was new. I thoroughly enjoyed this video. The technical explanations of “what & why” held my attention to the point I was almost sad the table was finished. It’s a beautiful work of art now. Thank you for sharing.
Goodness, what a gem of a restoration! Clearly, you are a professional. Also, your cats are professional, too. They have been trained well.
I would LOVE this table in my apartment. That drawer would be perfect for utensils and napkins!
WOW BEAUTIFUL, STANDING TALL AND PROUD. 👍⭐️
Спестяването на старинни мебели е благородна мисия! Браво, господарю! Мандо е много красив!!!🌷🌷🌷
Most of my small projects end up being more work than I thought they would. I usually end up happy with them. Your small project is great. Littleton Colorado USA
Great final outcome Jay. Being a cat lover, I also love watching Mando getting up to mischief with his friend.
Hi Jay, you really pick the hard tasks, don’t ya!?! And paint conceals all sorts of trouble! Do you ever think, “I wish I’d never started on this one!” The number of hours and the amount of supplies you used on this “quick little project” was phenomenal! You started off so slowly and thoroughly, then, wham bam, cheerio at the end!?!?!? B❤️🇦🇺🦘😊ut, you are one determined guy, that’s for sure! And a lovely job, all round! What was that bit about a new assistant!!!!!?
You have done a remarkable job Jay. Really shows that in the capable hands of a professional, not much furniture is beyond repair. 🎉
Because you are totally "a professional!"🎯💯😊 Worth every bit of the two thousand years it took you to sand and color match lol... just gorgeous 🥰
Fancy AF. . . You slay me!! 😂
Beautiful results as always, my professional friend!
I'm glad you mentioned your legs, because I was thinking, why can't MY legs look like that? LOL! You outdid yourself on this project. It was outstanding!
😂😂😂 thanks man 🙂
I must admit that at this point, I'm here for Mando and Hugo as much as the furniture 😂😅😂
lol I know 😂
I love the table so much. I really love your videos. I watch one or more several times a week. Makes me smile and sometimes laugh😂 Thank you
Jay, absolutely gorgeous.! I completely understand when you say things are never a quick flip! With your work, it is always worth it. I am definitely looking forward to seeing your new apprentice!
