Outstanding 5 things to stop doing. I know I’m guilty of doing all five but “worry” is my biggest Achilles heel. Excellent discussion! At 70 I don’t have a lot of time to waste doing things that aren’t beneficial
I’m in my early 30s…not of your generation. But my dad recently lost his battle to cancer at age 58. When I would take him to his cancer treatment, all we would talk about to pass the time was what we were going to do when he got better. We had a laundry list. This really affected me when he passed, and I was certainly sobered by it. Thank you so much for your channel. I’ve subscribed ❤
Enjoying your video. Great content. I agree on #4. After 2 retirements 2019 I told self I had to delete negative people. Not because I don’t like them .. but to move forward with peace and trying…to enjoy life. I had to delete them. My social circle dwindles more each month and years.. I don’t care anymore what people think of me

You both came to me on my feed for a reason. Our Creator sent you here because he knows I’m going through a tough time in coping with the state of the world right now. I live worrying for the future but having watched you two just now, I am going to do my best to live for today as tomorrow isn’t guaranteed. I’m 58 too and semi retired but I’m fortunate in that I’m doing a job I love so that’s no hardship. I’m a pre school teacher and on a 6 wk break here in the UK. The kids keep me young. Last year I went in a health journey and I have lost over 2 and a half stone with a bit more to go yet but I’ll get there. Thank you both so much. I have subscribed. Have a great day and thanks again!
Hey there! So glad our video hit home for you. Sounds like you're doing amazing things with those little ones! Keep up the awesome work and enjoy that 6-week break!

I’m 58, retired at 50. I realize that I’m not “relevant” anymore in the business community. As I’m walking in the mornings, I see the people heading to the plantation. I forget that 99.9% would give their right arm to change places. I haven’t been able to characterize this stage of life until I heard you say “young seniors”. That puts everything into perspective.
My husband and I subscribed right away when we watched your retirement video because you’re genuine Christian people who are full of knowledge, positive, and you look to the Lord for guidance. I’m 59 working FT but I’m tired and would like to work PT but we still have a mortgage. My husband is 67 working FT. We’re big Dave Ramsey followers out of debt except our home. Keep up the great videos. We love your story and we want a pontoon😋😁It looks so relaxing. We’re at a stage where we don’t want to fight the traffic, deal with ppl, or get up early😁. Keep up the great videos. Love and prayers
Thank you so much for your kind words! It’s wonderful to hear how our journey resonates with you. Wishing you and your husband all the best as you navigate this stage of life!
1. Don’t take time for granted 2. Stop neglecting your health 3. Stop worrying so much 4. Stop spending time with negative people 5. Stop living with regret; stop living with past mistakes
First time watcher, really liked this topic. My husband and I are recent retirees at 56 and 59. He was just diagnosed with cancer. While we didn't put too many things off in life, there is still so much more we would like to accomplish. Great list that really hit home.
Hello I just saw your channel for the first time. I will go back and watch your previous videos. I will be 64 this month and plan to retire next year. I want to be healthy enough to do and move into my future me. God willing I will be able to live a longer life to enjoy life and family. So far I agree with everything you say. I am on a health journey and it’s going well.
Welcome to the channel! It's fantastic to hear that you're on a health journey, and I wish you all the best as you prepare for retirement. Enjoy every moment of this exciting new chapter!
This is a great video and I concur with it all. One of my favorite passage is Matt 6:26-“Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they?” I suffered an ischemic stroke and breast cancer 3 years ago at 57, cancer free but still working through stroke recovery but my life changed for the better. No longer working the stressful managerial job, gave up smoking and alcohol after the stroke and eating healthy (self-care) because I appreciate life more than ever. I don’t take my time for granted at 61 if I live to 90 that’s 29 summers left and since the stroke forced me into early retirement I’ve started traveling domestic and/or international with family/friends ❤. Love your content… I’ve subscribed ❤️
WOW ~ your message spoke to me at the core of my heart! Your video popped up as RUclips suggestion & helped me so much with comfort & direction, especially in the health, taking time for granted, and stop living with regret areas. New to this phase of life in my early 50s as a "young senior," this is just what I needed to hear - I watched it 3 times & will listen to this again for sure as I don't have parents to help me with valuable advice like this. What an incredible blessing your channel is - just subscribed. God bless you both! 7.31.24
Thank you so much for your kind words! I'm thrilled that the video resonated with you and provided some comfort and direction. Your support means a lot to us.
I was “lucky” to have had a career as a Police officer, and could retire at 53. I’m 69 now, and I’ve had a marvelous time the last 16 years! And hope to have more good years ahead. I can relate to your advice.
My wife and i are both 53 and have been married for 35 years. Our children are grown and we will have our 9th grandbaby born in December! Life is short, enjoy every moment. Now we are planning a move from Southern Illinois to Amarillo Texas soon. I drive a concrete truck and she drives a school bus so it wont be hard for us to land jobs amd we can get home quick if need be. We try to remember the movie the Lion Kings catch phrase. Hakunamatada! Have a great day!
Thank you for your insight and your channel. 50’s is challenging. It’s a different form of adolescence transitioning era of life that I think many or most of us where not anticipating. I love your top 5 things to stop.
New subscriber and I am so glad I found your channel. I am 64 and since I have been about 58 I have been wishing the years away to retirement because I have a stressful job that I don’t enjoy. I was married for 42 years and have been separated for about 8 months which I am having a lot of trouble adjusting to. I also suffer from depression and anxiety and fear pretty much everything. I am that negative person, I want to make changes so bad and am seeing a therapist but your video really hit home with me. The last one really hit me since my separation. I feel like such a failure because I thought I would grow old and die with my high school sweetheart. I know I need to think more about my faith and do more self care. I am now subscribed and look forward to your next video and will be going back to watch your previous videos. 😊
Thanks for subscribing and I hope we can continue to help you out. We did a video a few weeks ago on finding each other in our 50s so don't settle for being alone if you don't want to be. Let God help, he has you in his hands always.
Hi Shelia, I have just found this channel too, and I'm so pleased that I have. I just want you to know that when I read your post my first thought was how much that I admire you. You have had more than enough to deal with and yet you are doing all that you can to turn things around. Going to a therapist is a big deal, lots of people can't make that step for various reasons. You are not blaming anybody for your life and dealing with anxiety and depression are massive challenges in there own right. You may describe yourself as negative, and clearly I don't know you, but to me you come across as an inspiration! Plus it appears to me to be a normal human reaction to feel low/negative after a marriage break down. Sending you a virtual hug.
Thanks for all the positive advice. I came across your channel yesterday and it's comforting to know that they're other people my age that are trying to navigate life with all its challenges with a positive outlook. Keep up the good work!! Thanks to both of you!
Navigating life with a positive outlook is like trying to find your way through a maze blindfolded - but hey, at least we're all stumbling through it together!
Favorite one is to make health a priority. That has become evidently clear to me: had surgery 2 weeks ago. It'll be a long recovery but now I won't let anything or one interfere with this new priority. Only 55 and will retire in 2 years. Thank you for the list❤!
Enjoyed your take on retirement. I'm just a bit older than you - recently retired - and my experiences are exactly like yours. I would have said many of these same things. Great video! I am now a subscriber.
