@@kobusg7460nah, Ireland were just ass on the day. They conceded 18 points in pens because they weren’t on the ball at all. It isn’t nz pressure that causes them to lie in rucks
@@Nieljoyceniel Yes it is, pressure happens in many ways when things are not going to plan. Your own coach said that the players tried to fix the problems and they made it worst. The AB's pressure your ball carriers and were beating the Irish over the ball in the ruck it's simple. AB's never tried to out ruck Ireland they were just first to the ball in the ruck and Ireland got caught. I like that Ireland have come leaps and bounds in Rugby what i don't like to the disrespect they show to the AB's, well the Irish media and fans.
@@johnjones5995 This is how the Irish always deals with a loss. When they concede numerous penalties against SA because they are under more pressure than they can handle, they claim SA play boring and cynical rugby. Just get used to it.
I also don't buy the argument that NZ only won because the Irish only had plastic energy and not much else. NZ found Ireland out back in the QFs already and Ireland have not changed their game in any way since. You can only use the same shapes so many times before teams catch on to it.
Thank you. Ireland are a gimmick team who used a strategy and play style to find success. They are a system team. NZ figured them out. That’s why they looked so “flat”.
@ true. A system can adapt a gimmick can’t. Ireland couldn’t adapt. Outside of irelands kiwi players they don’t have any “rugby players” all the other players are just robots. They don’t have the skill to adjust.
@@halfcourt8952 Mate a 'gimmick' doesn't create the winning record that Ireland has had over the past few years. They are a systems team sure, but it has been a ruthlessly effective system and like Squidge says, they haven't needed a plan B in the vast majority of their games. There have been a few high stakes, pressure games though where they haven't been the best at adapting. I am sure that is something that the coaches have been looking at since the RWC and hopefully we will see improvements in that regard. Think the second test in SA was an example of them adapting and finding a plan B, however they need to be able to do that more consistently
Thank you! It’s exciting times for New Zealand rugby, and Robertson’s approach really does feel like a breath of fresh air. His success with the Crusaders has shown that he knows how to build a team capable of switching styles fluidly based on the game’s demands. It’s impressive how he’s embedding a game plan that lets New Zealand handle different conditions and play styles - from structured, physical play to expansive, fast rugby - and adapt on the fly. That flexibility, or malleability, is the real strength, and it’s something New Zealand rugby has been edging toward for years but seems to be on the brink of mastering now under Robertson. The focus on situational adaptability combined with unleashing classic All Black dynamism when the moment’s right is a blend that will make them incredibly hard to predict and play against. It feels like we’re seeing the evolution of the “black DNA” as they refine the fast, pressure-heavy style that other teams find so difficult to defend. Over the next few years, if they keep building this adaptability and bring younger players into this style, the potential for a new All Black dynasty is very real. It’ll be fascinating to watch!
Are you really Irish Mr De Van Man? , cause I have no clue what you're talking about. who is being arrogant? show me examples? you can't make statements like this on the fly, and not get called out for it.
Eh, it's the youngins. Life is bleak enough, let them puff out their chests a little bit. In the end it's all just swings and roundabouts anyway, your golden generation team will retire and they'll take a dip in form and be subject to some hidings by teams that have been waiting for exact revenge. Enjoy it while it lasts, because none of us can stay on top for too long.
Some of our fans aren't great but I haven't seen any nation that doesn't have a toxic element in their fans. And in some countries it makes up the majority of them. 👇

@Squidge It astounds me that you haven't been snapped up or at least put on a fat consultant wage by some big rugby broadcaster. Excellent analysis. Most of the "professional" pundits just got lazy and said Ireland were rusty and played like school boys. You on the other hand do the hard work, dig in, and do proper analysis to reveal Ireland played as well as they were allowed to play. And the All Blacks, too, playing an error-prone game due to Irish pressure. I hope all those professionals see this video and learn to look deeper and not just spit out word salad based on emotion. I've been so annoyed with many of them and other rugby YT'ers calling the game uninspired and messy. As you've rightly pointed out it was a master class by NZ on how to undo Ireland and all done under some tough handling conditions with the rain. Top notch rugby that was excellently detailed by an exceptional analyst in yourself. Very well done!
This whole weekend of games was a massive statement from the Southern Hemisphere Every team felt pretty equivalent in their respective positions apart from France/ Japan and probably the Boks/ Scots Apart from that really hope all of us in the North can mind the gap going into the rest of these games and next year
As an Ireland fan, the All Blacks are the best team in the world. The loss hurt, especially with how many penalties Ireland conceded and how disjointed they looked, especially at the end of the match. I'm sure they clean up the issues and come back this weekend better and I am excited to see how the rivalry with NZ progresses.
@@Jay685toa You guys are truly adorable. I love how the Irish rate the rankings over RWC wins only when they are on top and the kiwi`s rate RWC wins most important only when they are on top. But please, don`t let SA get in the way of your imaginary reality.
Very Springbok-like ganeplan from NZ and frankly Im not surprised. During the World Cup, Ireland beat the Boks in a great game, but the Boks had a really poor kicking radar that day. Very interesting to note is that the Boks also limited Ireland to 13 points. While the Boks lost, certainly other teams would have sat up and looked at how the Boks stifled the Irish. It is quite clear that the way to beat this rather fantastic Irish side is to not allow them to score that initial cut and to frustrate them whenever they get even a whiff of the ball. Big difference between the two matches however, is that New Zealand did not suffer from malfunctioning kicker syndrome. Homework for the Irish is firstly to admit that this type of game is not their strong suit. Secondly, it is to come up with something to counteract this game plan, because this is something that can outdo them. SA and NZ have employed this gameplan. England have the players to do it too. So can Argentina. Get on this, Farrell.
You can’t call 38 tests, 5 wins, and a draw a rivalry. In Ireland’s eyes, they might see it that way, but for New Zealand, not so much. Good on Ireland for how far they’ve come recently-they’ve certainly made themselves a team to respect. But SA vs NZ? Now that's a rivalry. It takes years to build that kind of history. A true rivalry isn’t just about recent success; it's the years, the history, and the back-and-forth battles. South Africa and New Zealand have that long, storied past filled with hard-fought matches, heartbreak, and unforgettable moments. Ireland may be working toward that status, but it’s a different league when it comes to the All Blacks and the Springboks.
I read a comment by an Irishman who was lamenting the fact that the Irish just don't understand the kiwi mindset and it's true, and I saw this in the buildup with Irish pundits talking about getting revenge for the WC. Mate, the ABs still havent finished enacting revenge for the series loss and especially the comments to Sam Cane, even after the WC and now this match, and they wont be for a while. Not until they've given them a proper hiding at home which will come under Razor.
The kiwi mindset😂😂. New zealand didnt win the world cup and have been just good for the last few years . If anything new zealand losing a lot the last few years has shown their true colours. Nz fans are entitled, arrogant and dreadful losers. This to me is the kiwi mindset.
Yeah they don’t understand the kiwi mindset when it comes to rugby. Losing is unacceptable and sometimes winning is not enough. Ireland climbed the mountain but couldn’t handle the pressure of being top dog.
Ye are hardly top dog yerselfs. Listen to your egos on this post, revenge this, and that. and remember yer 4 losses in a row to South Africa and the defeat to Argentina just gone . 3 defeats already under Razor No one in Ireland said they were gaining revenge, it's just your head so you can get some form of satisfaction in your own words. Settle down and enjoy the win. It's not a World Cup trophy on the line .
@ no one in NZ is claiming to be number 1. We are definitely number 2 right now behind South Africa. Kiwis live in reality we know who is the top dog right now. The fact you didn’t want revenge was just a protection mechanism in case you lost. Losers make excuses. Ireland not ready for bright lights. Enjoy winning your Mickey Mouse 6 nations. But please stop with the loser mentality. That’s what annoys kiwis and saffas.
This nz team is nowhere near its full potential, lots of talented young players on the fringes trying to push their way in and a new coaching group , next few years will be interesting
Squidge, an idea for a video, at the end of the 2024 season it would be great if you would do a video on how exactly the Springbok attack has evolved over the year. Eg structures or tactics they tried and kept or abandoned, what they're trying to do, etc. It's easy to see there's a change, but studying the transition would be enlightening. Thanks
Razor reminds me of a Warlord who implements tactics and has the personnel to execute, like he adjusts to the opposition, once the boys grow in confidence and understanding Razors vision they will be a formidable opponent
Clarke didn't skewer it, it hit Hansen's hand! Was a hilarious call though, either it hit Hansen's hand and was an NZ throw, or it was out on the full and should have been brought all the way back for the Irish lineout just outside the 22. But the ref did half of both, and gave Ireland the throw but downfield.
I thought it was weird too but I was told that the ref/touchie deemed Clarke as kicking from behind the 22 and landing over the 22. Therefore a legal kick out on the full.
Yay, these videos are tiding me over. I regret believing in Northern hemisphere rugby 😅, this weekend has shown that we are still a way from being better
Adapting to the game situation (to the ref, conditions, your form, opp tactics and their response to your tactics) is crucial and I don't know which team does it best.
Ireland shut NZ down completely... except for the 13 penalties they gifted them, 6 of which McKenzie turned into points. That was the winning and losing of the game. Foster called Ireland's attack cut and paste, and the only evolution we've seen since then has been backwards. This NZ team still have tonnes of room for improvement, a frightening prospect for the rest of us.
@@halfcourt8952 Exactly. I'm being tongue-in-cheek. The video is saying Ireland's defense shut NZ down. Giving away so many kickable penalties would suggest otherwise.
ABs 5 penalties over 80 minutes is insane, especially if you consider the ABs discipline over the last few years. That's a real shift in attitude that if they'd had earlier may have won them a game in SA and maybe not coughed up the loss against Argentina. If they keep at it with the discipline they're going to be a tough nut to crack.
During annual international fixtures, like the autumn internationals and six nations, do you have time to go to any of the matches or are you focused on getting the match analysis, given the time it must take to analyse each match and find and edit footage to explain your points. If so do you ever watch any non Welsh games?
Brilliant analysis. What looked like two tired sumo wrestlers turned out to be a pair of writhing Anacodas through your eyes. Always the highlight of the week!
@ I would say forward. More players are eager to represent the team and the quality of players is good. And the rugby is awesome to watch and they are bringing in results.
said it after the match. Irelands defence was amazing. DMac stood tall. very smart play. A less pedantic ref might thave only given 8 penalties against the Irish instead of 13. lovely work on Ringrose positioning. I was so pissed off Osborne/Frawley didn't start. They need to have 20 games against Boks / AB's before the next WC. Keenan made his sevens choice and Farrell doesn't stay loyal to Osborne is head scratching.
"Because in defence they were, frankly, exceptional" in entering the ruck from the side right in front of the ref. 10:35 7 and 4 hit the second support player from both sides 11:00 7 again entering from the side literally right in front of the ref. 11:50 finally, but the penalty was not for entering the ruck illegally - there was not one for that all night, 12:04 this time the number five right in front of the ref.
On TikTok, before the game I remember this one guy said that Ireland would smash them and they’re the best team in the world and than 20 mins after he said that Ireland wasn’t even top 7 in the world and he sees a Welsh like future for them 😂
Looking forward to this. Probably the worst Irish performance of Andys tenure. It just didnt look like the team we had been seeing. NZ put us under pressure, and really save for the first few minutes of either half and towards the end of the first we didnt really do anything. Defended well, but we wasted so much possession. 21 handling errors. I dont think ive ever seen this side do that. Lets hope its a combination of rust, great pressure from NZ and a bad day at the office
@zeroconnection yeah, definitely his adjustment. Interesting video here though.. makes you realise that it was also NZ just putting our gameplan under huge pressure and Ireland not adapting
It’s over bro. Ireland is on the decline. You’ll see what I mean in a few years. They’ve been found out, are old and don’t have many actual rugby players just system guys.
@@halfcourt8952can you please tell me how the reigning 6 nations champions are on the decline? Be honest because there's nothing to show this except a poor performance against NZ?
@ to the casual fan it seems like it was an off game. But what really happened is the ABs exposed Ireland. Defensively you rely on a negative tactic to slow teams down and offensively you are one dimensional. Your players are not rugby players they are system players. More akin to a robot. Once you take away plan A you don’t have the players to adjust. Your coach even said this during the week. Other point is your team is old they’ve all missed a step which happens to every player. I’ve watched rugby all my life I’ve seen teams come and go. Ireland are on the decline. Revisit this post in a year and you’ll see what I mean.
So good - top class analysis! I’ve grown weary of pundits bleating about Ireland being off their game, while not highlighting that they were done up like a kipper by the All Blacks. This is what Scott Robertson used to do at the Crusaders - a different game plan each week tailored for the opposition - executed very well - not uncommon to dominate opponents. The crowd at the Aviva knew it - they weren’t booing Ireland - they were silent for large parts of the match.
@@GeorgeJordan-s2y Play to win is there strategy. They scored 3 tries the week befog. I think you will find the games against France and Italy will be very different. Pretty good for a team going through a rebuild.
As an Irishman, I can say that I can't stand the arrogance that has permeated our fan base. I always support our guys and place my bets on Sloterra. There are always high odds and good support service.
11:38 I think you are being a bit too generous with this interpretation. If the All Blacks had lost, everyone would be saying because of the aimless kicking. I agree that denying the Irish set piece was a good tactic, kicking whilst on the front foot or even worse, with an overlap is not.
In most aspects of life there is some recency bias and rugby is no different. Ireland was riding high after beating South Africa away their last game and New Zealand having a below par Rugby Championship by their standards. While each side played well, it felt as though Ireland was trying to force their game a bit. The line-out continued to be an issue and it felt like watching the QF all over again. As a fan it was a little stutter start with all of the handling errors from Ireland and kept the game from getting into much of a flow, I think if anywhere that is where some rust was demonstrated. Credit to the ABs, they were able to win the arm wrestle and content kicking over three pointers (did not know McKenzie could kick like that) until their try scoring moment came.
Ireland lost for many differing reasons. But mostly because we were giving a world class team ( who were not firing on all cylinders themselves) a free penalty every 6 minutes. Farrell's preparation consisted of a 10 day team holiday in sunny Portugal.
Great analysis, but I have to Say, watching the ABs playing the Mccaw style "on the edge of legal" rugby is nothing new, the incident by the Scrum half at 7.28 epitomises this - had Ireland won a penalty there , as should have been awarded then the game could have taken a different direction as Ireland could have scored from either a penalty kick or a set piece 5m lineout , As you know , these games are all about momentum- mind you , we will take our beating and hopefully learn from this- All in all though it was a frustrating game to watch , a lot of untypical errors from rusty Ireland- ABs have had a few games under their belts and looked good on the day. We'll be back 🙂
Finally someone recognise Vaai game 👏 trust me Razor knows what he's doing, he'll shake off the baggage from the foster era and bring a new dynasty. We lost Retallick, whitelock and still have a better lineout

One drops the ball when one is under pressure.
I also don't buy the argument that NZ only won because the Irish only had plastic energy and not much else.
NZ found Ireland out back in the QFs already and Ireland have not changed their game in any way since. You can only use the same shapes so many times before teams catch on to it.
Possibly because Catt isn't there, so the innovation has gone... or maybe that's why he went?
Thank you. Ireland are a gimmick team who used a strategy and play style to find success. They are a system team. NZ figured them out. That’s why they looked so “flat”.
@@halfcourt8952 There is quite a big difference between a gimmick and a system
Thanks for the breakdown lads. Always appreciate the insight.

Squidge, I never watch sport analysis videos (or at least no longer than 3 minutes lol). You make them so fun and interesting! Love your content!
Nice one lads, thoroughly enjoyed it

I think you're right about this feeling more like a Robertson team. Finally shrugging off the shackles of Hanson and co

@@randomlyfactual1943thats why you lost against Ireland in your backyard? Full credit to Razor., show some class and give people there dues
Awesome analysis guys 😊👍

This to me is the kiwi mindset.
yeah, disrespecting an AB captain like that won't be forgotten or forgiven for a very long time. Funny sledge though
3 defeats already under Razor
No one in Ireland said they were gaining revenge, it's just your head so you can get some form of satisfaction in your own words.

He your sugar daddy? I think he's a Twitt.
It should’ve been a penalty to Ireland 5m out because of the illegal turnover from ratima
You do realize giving up 13 penalties means your defense was struggling right? Ireland were hanging on for dear life
@@halfcourt8952 Exactly.
Did not want Squidge to do this. But he did, so I have to. 🙈

During annual international fixtures, like the autumn internationals and six nations, do you have time to go to any of the matches or are you focused on getting the match analysis, given the time it must take to analyse each match and find and edit footage to explain your points. @ I would say forward. More players are eager to represent the team and the quality of players is good. And the rugby is awesome to watch and they are bringing in results.
So how did the All Blacks triumph in Dublin? Answer: They Scored More Points Than The Irish Did.
said it after the match.

Our six nations performance in 2020 was pretty poor. But to fair to Andy Farrell it was his debut year and adjustment period was to be expected.

Play for penalties how exciting , what a boring team NZ are.

Not free penalties, earned penalties
Ireland couldnt hold/catch the ball on Friday night
NZ could
“…Kurosawa-esque…” This is why I am here!
We'll be back 🙂
a whole lot of missed infringements by Ireland too.
