I have had my xbox one s controller ever since it came out. The deadzones are still accurate, not a single bit of drift on any game at 0% and my buttons are still tactile and clicky. To whoever told you the xbox controllers last between 2 and 6 months, are eating them or playing underwater. Ive smashed my fingers so so so hard many times on the respawn button for BFV, and its still as clicky as it was years ago.
For both controllers it really only lasts long if you take good care of them. Trust me I have both controllers for a few years and they still pretty good for how we've treated them.

I’ve had my Xbox controller for 5yrs and the only thing that is wrong with it is the right trigger is kinda squeaky and my friends has a PS4 controller that he has had for 3 yes and the analog sticks are all chipped up and the analog sticks are so loose it spins by itself which is really annoying in game speacially fortnite
While I own a PS4. I have used a XB1 controller at my friends and it's definitely a very nice comfortable controller. While the left stick may not be good for double claw, it's actually really good for movement because your thumb is at a better angle. I still prefer the Dualshock 4 since I play Claw. Also, I prefer the bumpers on the DS4.

Here’s me opinion. First off all you should not judge a controller by how it functions by playing claw. A lot of people don’t play claw and all of our hands are built differently so the experience is definitely not the same for everyone. Comfort: The Xbox controller definitely fits better in my big hands. I hated the ps4 controller at first but after getting used to it it’s actually not so bad. Probably pretty great for someone with smaller hands. I’ve heard some people complain about the Xbox controller being too big. Not a prob for me but I definitely see where they are coming from. The Xbox controller also has some more weight to it which may be bothersome for some people. Bumpers and triggers: Xbox because they have nice click and they have trigger rumble overall very satisfying to use. Also it’s very easy to move from bumper to trigger because there’s a little groove for your finger to rest in the bumpers. The ps4 ones are not at all bad though. However, when I play claw on fortnite I find myself accidentally hitting the bumpers sometimes because they are so soft. ABXY buttons and dpad: Ps4 because they are way softer and quieter. The Xbox ones very loud and the dpad is clicky and very small. Never had a problem pressing 2 buttons at once on the ps4 dpad. Analog sticks: The Xbox sticks are quite soft which may be a problem for some people. I play with a much higher sensitivity with the ps4 controller because it’s easier to handle it with the higher tension sticks. With kontrolfreeks the Xbox ones have almost zero tension which is a bit hard to get used to. Both are fine though once you get used to them and it’s pretty much just personal preference when it comes to the shape. Button layout: I play a lot of driving games so I find myself doing better with the Xbox layout because my finger rests better on the left thumbstick. However I like the ps4 for shooter games and the dpad is actually something you consider using for navigating the consoles home screen. The dpad on the Xbox is almost like an afterthought. Options share and touchpad: Never has a problem with the buttons on any. I always find myself accidentally taking screenshots on my ps4 haha. Touchpad is a nice add on for typing and stuff but the ps4 dpad is great and is usually my go to. It’s also nice having the touchpad as an extra button. Battery life and functionality: Ps4 kills it with features but Xbox kills it with battery life. A worthy trade off if you ask me. I’ve never had a problem with changing AAs (I have rechargeable ones) or plugging in my ps4 controller after using it. The AAs in the Xbox controller also add a good but of weight to the controller which personally doesn’t bother me but it may be annoying for some people. I know the fanboys always go around yapping about this one. And my overall opinion? KEYBOARD no jk once I get into the game I totally forget about what controller (or console) I’m using. Just forget about it and enjoy the game! If your controllers only last 2-6 months... take it easy. Controllers aren’t meant to be smashed! Had my controllers for years with no problems at all. Never broken a controller in my life.
The Xbox One controller is a very, very noisy controller and it annoys the people around me during more quiet hours while I'm using headphones. The noise is also annoying high pitched ticks compared to closer to thud click sounds on the DualShock 4. Had the first gen Xbox One controller and the dpad was annoying sometimes because it pressed other, adjacent directions. This was never an issue for me with any PS controller but it could be that I've had a faulty one. Didn't like the Shoulders on the Xbox One it just feels awkward and sometimes wouldn't register. If I'll be playing older games like Megaman, I quite prefer the PS dpads across generations otherwise, both the DS4 and XB1 controllers are very similar in my experience for most modern games and I can live with just either one of them if I can't have both.
Aiden Iridescence Yeah the shoulders are awful on those first gen Xbox one controllers. They were so hard to press it was ridiculous. Never really had a problem with the dpad though. Those first gens were pretty horrible if you ask me. The 3rd gen ones are a major improvement though! They improved the buttons and noise a little and the shoulders are WAY better. They are silent and have a satisfying mouse click feeling to them. The only problem I still have with them are the really loud clacking noise the thumb sticks make. The overall build quality of the ds4 is just better in my opinion but it’s just a bit small for my hands which is the only drawback here. Both are great controllers once I get playing I forget what I’m using.

Nice to learn there's even a 3rd fine tuning. Now you made me a bit anxious with the first iterations of the next gen controllers specially with how DS5 is relatively a large jump from DS4 compared to XB1 to XB1SX controller. Hope we don't get lemons in the future.

Sony and Microsoft have had their share of issues but they have been coming closer and closer to perfection in these last 7 years and I think the ps5 and the series x are the final piece in the puzzle. I highly prefer the Xbox controller's layout, since most games I play require the normal grip. I can now see that the PS controller layout has great advantage for double claw grip players. I vehemently argued with my friends that the Xbox controller is far superior for ergonomics. Their arguments have never been compelling, making the "small hands" argument, when in fact the Xbox layout is many times better for people who play normal grip with small hands, like myself. As someone who has used the PS controller for 8 years and suffer cramps from playing games, the Xbox controller solved all of this. Your video is well presented and clearly states and shows the true advantage of the symmetrical button layout design. Although, I think many casual players would not utilize this double grip configuration.

Actually it depends on the type of games you play , you can play games like god of war where you dont have to click buttons that much so that way your controller has longer life but if you play a game like fortnite(dont get angry many people hate that game i am using it as an example) in it you constantly click all buttons all the time without stopping for building and shooting
yeah, he just went off of how good he was at fortnite with claw on both controllers, i don't use "claw" on either controller and i still prefer ps4 controller because i'm SO much better at every game on ps4 compared to xbox.
@@jaspercalba7604 you can buy thumbstick modules to repair a controller with, bring it back to new.. my only gripe with the PS4 controller is there's so much additional crap packed into it that keeping everything working correctly over time is going to be very difficult.. which is why i bought a NIB playstation 2 controller for PC gaming, and will do my own bluetooth/USB conversion for it later on

The Xbox controller has better feeling sticks and a subjective better d pad but I can understand why people dislike the position, I have used a ps4 controller before and they work great. The controller is solid, but the thumbsticks don’t feel as good as the Xbox thumbsticks (the grip and texture)

I would take the diagonal thumbsticks of the Xbox and the D-pad of the PlayStation. I like both face buttons as well as triggers/bumpers on both. But I actually prefer the Xbox 360 controller overall as my controller of choice like many people tend to agree on. So I want that design shape combined with the buttons on both of these controllers.

Both are fine though once you get used to them and it’s pretty much just personal preference when it comes to the shape.
Button layout: I play a lot of driving games so I find myself doing better with the Xbox layout because my finger rests better on the left thumbstick. However I like the ps4 for shooter games and the dpad is actually something you consider using for navigating the consoles home screen. The dpad on the Xbox is almost like an afterthought.
Options share and touchpad: Never has a problem with the buttons on any. I always find myself accidentally taking screenshots on my ps4 haha. Touchpad is a nice add on for typing and stuff but the ps4 dpad is great and is usually my go to. It’s also nice having the touchpad as an extra button.
Battery life and functionality: Ps4 kills it with features but Xbox kills it with battery life. A worthy trade off if you ask me. I’ve never had a problem with changing AAs (I have rechargeable ones) or plugging in my ps4 controller after using it. The AAs in the Xbox controller also add a good but of weight to the controller which personally doesn’t bother me but it may be annoying for some people. I know the fanboys always go around yapping about this one.
And my overall opinion? KEYBOARD no jk once I get into the game I totally forget about what controller (or console) I’m using. Just forget about it and enjoy the game!
If your controllers only last 2-6 months... take it easy. Controllers aren’t meant to be smashed! Had my controllers for years with no problems at all. Never broken a controller in my life.
The Xbox One controller is a very, very noisy controller and it annoys the people around me during more quiet hours while I'm using headphones. The noise is also annoying high pitched ticks compared to closer to thud click sounds on the DualShock 4.
Had the first gen Xbox One controller and the dpad was annoying sometimes because it pressed other, adjacent directions. This was never an issue for me with any PS controller but it could be that I've had a faulty one.
Didn't like the Shoulders on the Xbox One it just feels awkward and sometimes wouldn't register.
If I'll be playing older games like Megaman, I quite prefer the PS dpads across generations otherwise, both the DS4 and XB1 controllers are very similar in my experience for most modern games and I can live with just either one of them if I can't have both.
Aiden Iridescence Yeah the shoulders are awful on those first gen Xbox one controllers. They were so hard to press it was ridiculous. Never really had a problem with the dpad though. Those first gens were pretty horrible if you ask me. The 3rd gen ones are a major improvement though! They improved the buttons and noise a little and the shoulders are WAY better. They are silent and have a satisfying mouse click feeling to them. The only problem I still have with them are the really loud clacking noise the thumb sticks make. The overall build quality of the ds4 is just better in my opinion but it’s just a bit small for my hands which is the only drawback here. Both are great controllers once I get playing I forget what I’m using.

Now you made me a bit anxious with the first iterations of the next gen controllers specially with how DS5 is relatively a large jump from DS4 compared to XB1 to XB1SX controller.

Aiden Iridescence Yeah, I have high hopes for the next gen and I think it’s going to be the best yet. Sony and Microsoft have had their share of issues but they have been coming closer and closer to perfection in these last 7 years and I think the ps5 and the series x are the final piece in the puzzle. I highly prefer the Xbox controller's layout, since most games I play require the normal grip. I can now see that the PS controller layout has great advantage for double claw grip players. I vehemently argued with my friends that the Xbox controller is far superior for ergonomics. Their arguments have never been compelling, making the "small hands" argument, when in fact the Xbox layout is many times better for people who play normal grip with small hands, like myself. As someone who has used the PS controller for 8 years and suffer cramps from playing games, the Xbox controller solved all of this. Your video is well presented and clearly states and shows the true advantage of the symmetrical button layout design. Although, I think many casual players would not utilize this double grip configuration.

I would take the diagonal thumbsticks of the Xbox and the D-pad of the PlayStation. I like both face buttons as well as triggers/bumpers on both. But I actually prefer the Xbox 360 controller overall as my controller of choice like many people tend to agree on. So I want that design shape combined with the buttons on both of these controllers.
