Those early hunter sounds, I goddamn want them so bad!
He was so cheating at the end there. His health didn't go below 15 in spite of being shot several times.
DarkSignal Dem valve doods
It's config for this demo map.
"Buddha" command in console
@@WindRunner04 Buddha only allows you to stay at 1 hp without dying
Oh man, imagine the slaughterhouse here...
-Combine soldier troops.
-Gunships
-Dropships with *even more soldiers*.
-3-4 Striders at once...
-...each of them escorted by packs of hunters.
Really disappointed me how the soldiers and gunships got cut out from the final battle :/ I didn't think of it at the time when the game came out though. Took a couple of playthroughs to realise it was missing
@@SirFlibbertyJibbit you could just do this in Gmod btw, and it was due to difficulty for the player, the final release battle is already hard enough, like might as well add the helicopters and ant lion guards and fast zombies while you're at it,
@@SirFlibbertyJibbit You must be kidding... I barely finish the final fight as it is. With all of this going on it would be absolutely insane! The neighborhood achievement will be impossible here.
@@npc_citizen17 well I like a challenge in scenarios like this. Would have made the battle feel like more of an effort from the combine.
I like seeing things like increased enemy count as difficulty settings increase. Not just taking increased damages and dealing less. Perhaps they could have added the extra enemies in for hard mode.
Oh well. Is what it is.
@@SirFlibbertyJibbit I see your point. I'm a more average gamer and the final standoff gives me plenty of anxiety as it is. Looking at this demo is nuts!
Great concept point none the less. Having the Combine charge White Forest this way makes total sense.
The demo version is looks way harder and better than the one we have right now
There's a lot of fog present here, I do like, however it was most likely removed due to gameplay issues.
@@goti4no820???
This battle would have been a lot more overwhelming in my opinion
Despite the increased difficulty, I really would've liked this version of the mission instead of the one we got because you get to see Resistance members use the rocket launcher to blow up various Combine.
I love the old Jalopy.
I think this kind of battle sequence would be more suited to the intro of Half-Life 3.
I mean, the gunships and troops on the bridge in Freeman Pontifex could of been planned by the Combine to send a full fleet to White Forest in case the Super Portal plans were foiled, which they were, so I think everyone has to leave before the base is demolished and blown into the sky by more striders.
Then how would ep2 end then?
Still incredible. Still play the open sections as a pure toy box (not sand box). Having fun and being creative in a environment that rewards replay and mastery.
Yeah, the Hunters were way improved with their cool fletchette attack.
I would like the jalopy to be as an addon for garry's mod
holy shit
gordon vs Combine army
The Jalopy looks better than the Muscle Car in the Final Version in my opinion.
How? The Jalopy looks like garbage on wheels
Canada opinions
bcs it suits better in destroyed world of half life, take buggie from hl2.. the muscle is just too polished for hl world in my opinion
yeah
@GoTi4No E-mailed Valve once, i think it was David Speyrer and he said to me they're gonna release the original Jalopy model as part of the Source SDK. Been like 10 years since and i never heard about it again.
@Legomaarten
Yeah, I really wish Valve would release the model for it...
Does anyone knows where can i get the bink video files for these gameplay videos? I remember Steam having them in the past but i lost the files long ago.
Link version 2006 plz
how did you get this
Damn Half-Life fans will never be satisfied. Guys, the final version is more polished and looks better than this, period.
@@goti4no820 we are not the devs, so we can't tell what was better, it's just pointless wishful thinking
@@goti4no820 interesting how its now also the players who are judging valve unfavorably for changing things. you just cant please everyone
@@goti4no820 you are the one making wild assumptions about me and vigorously defending a video game from an opinion I shared years ago like it's going to harm the game's reputation... the fact is that people who prefer beta content are abundant, always agreed with ,and yet they still need to force their opinion onto others least it falls apart as soon as someone makes a valid argument against it
good bye
@@goti4no820 calm down
@@blueshit199 You are right, we are not devs. However, we have our own opinions. And mine is that Combine Soldiers should have stayed in the final battle because i like a challenge. And i would trade an achievement any day for this
@Utubepoop1231 Even more unlikely
u made cheat to get the jalopy?
