Maybe Bloom was born as the fairy of wind, but when Domino was attacked, Daphne gave her her Dragon flame to protect her and the Dragon flame itself, so maybe the original wind power makes her fire move stronger through the air, maybe that's why her attacks are usually very fast
My personal take on this is that Bloom is a wind fairy that uses the Dragon Flame. Wind does make fire stronger, so her natural Wind abilities amplifies the Flames which goes hand in hand. Its relationship is sort of like Naruto w the 9 tail fox sealed in him. He can fight w regular ninjustsu, but since the 9 tail fox is part of him, it's going to bleed into his abilities.
What I love about the Winx fairy forms/outfits is the fact they are kinda never wearing colors associated to their powers, and it's actually genius because when they use their power, the color of their power create a very beautiful contrast with the colors of their outfits ! The most perfect example is obviously on Bloom, but also on Flora (as we all know pink goes good with green) and also on Tecna (I absolutely love her very green power with her outfits being purple/blue it pops super well everytime !) I can't really say that for Stella and Musa, but your video makes me realized that Musa's colors are actually the complete opposite of Bloom ! And it's cool because Musa has honestly the best colors, she wears red and dark blue but also all the shades of red (bordeaux, magenta, pink) and shades of blue + purple which is the color between red and blue... and it's absolutely not related to her power, which is why it IS iconic and something we saw only in Winx Club ! The other Magical Girls and Superheroes are very obvious about the colors of their powers/clothes which make them saddly basic, but not the Winx ! Because if you think about that, Bloom is probably the only Redhead Main Character wearing blue (instead of green / red / pink) if she was wearing red "because of fire" what would make her different from Scarlet Witch ? Dark Pheonix ? And all the other characters related to fire ? I even want to add Layla/Aisha as an exemple, if she was wearing blue "because of water" what would make her unique ? We could believe that Layla/Aisha was the fairy of nature because green, but nope, fairy of fluids and pink chewing gum... absolutely Iconic and never seen before ! This is why Winx Club can't be compared and this is also why Bloom would be basic if she was the fairy of wind because "blue obviously" !
According to me , Stella is supposed to represent at first the typical rich blond girl who likes to wear pink . Instead she wore green , yellow and orange . She was not mean and/or stupid like her other blond counterparts in medias , she had a decent intelligence and was so kind . It is a shame that the live action on Netflix did not respect their fashion style and personnalities .
@@DianaDonineaux very true, Stella is very unique for being one of the only blond character wearing orange (aslo Sailor Venus who is her obvious inspiration and I even think Stella doesn't have blue eyes because of her... which is an interesting choice again because if Stella got blue eyes we would assume it's obvious because of her Moon power, but nope, she's blond with hazel eyes instead... but the weirdest thing about it is the fact kinda all the blond girls in Win Club have hazel eyes, the only exception I have in mind is Galatea who is not even a typical blond girl if we assume she's asian like Musa... which is cool too ! Nobdy is "typical" or a cliché/déjà vue in Winx Club :) PS : We don't talk about the Netflix live action, it doesn't exists. We all agree to forget it forever. (the way they even cut Stella's hair... wtf...)
Could be. Sky’s name is not the only potential wind hint. His hair is yellow like the sun, and many of his outfits are blue and/or yellow. Bloom similarly also had used to have yellow as her secondary color until it was switched to pink/red in the second season. (Bloom’s First outfit was a yellow and blue crop top with yellow shoes, her first fairy outfit gave her a yellow crown + necklace and in the first or second episode of season 2, Her new outfit originally had Yellow with blue, instead of Red which would appear later.) I suspect that the Dragon Flame was thought up later in the development and They didn’t feel like changing them when the show began releasing. However in season 2, they began adjusting for the new dragon flame power so Red and pink in Bloom’s case, became their secondary colors. Another potential wind hint is how Bloom’s chosen best friend is Stella, fairy of the Sun and Moon, both of which can be viewed in the sky. Additionally While Bloom liked fairytales, she specifically liked FAIRIES who Fly.
Another thing about Stella and the wind thing.... Stella means Star...and she uses sunlight magic more than moonlight because Bloom puts stars in her signature like Stella's name and Stella's signature power symbol had a heart like Bloom's power symbol...and also the sun is a star....and Stella is the star after Bloom in season 1 before Aisha becomes secondary lead from season 2 forward. The Theme Song "Under the Sign of Winx" says "Among the Stars you are Winx" for the first three seasons during it's refrain...this fits with both Stella and outside of Sky...who's the specialists she hangs out with most? Helia and Timmy. Helia (or Helios where gendered language conventions matter) means Sunny, his signature color is also orange like Stella...that's another star. Timmy's orange-red hair and yellow signature color+ red rimmed glasses also looks sunny giving him the appearance of a star...and he tends to be the only specialist to know how to be not just nice, but kind to girls in season 1...even if he doesn't know how to make the dating work at first because he is boy, aka confused easily. Could it be that Bloom also had a thing for Stargazing too? I mean her og background when she makes the Winx Butterfly arm cross for the first time when she's told she's a fairy...she gets stars behind her....then when she does it making the logo...the I is dotted by a star and there's a star trail on the bottom of what I presume is Stella's ring of Solaria and the X as a perched butterfly comes from Musa while the standard pink/green emblem was a contribution from Flora, because initially ir was just green and orange like Stella's civillian outfit or the prototype blue and orange.)
The stock art of bloom that is definitely wind. 1 too many sharp corners water is flowely 2 it’s to grey to be water. 3 it isn’t a dark enough gray to be smoke Conclusion It is WIND!
I think it's a really good theory! Especially with the idea of Bloom thinking she's a fairly of air because of possibly using steam first. That's really interesting. 🙂
The decision for Bloom to have red hair also fits into the narrative. Since she had the Dragon Flame in her since infantcy, elements of the flame might have bleed into her physically. I commented previously abt it resembling Naruto's relationship w the 9 tail Fox; Naruto's iconic look is his face scars/markings resembling whiskers, which is a side effact of his connection to the creature.
I like this as Daphne is true owner of dragonflame as she's freaking supreme nymph alongside 8 nymphs. Gave her ownership to Bloom in possession, if you noticed whenever Daphne boost Bloom, she get stronger and powerful.
Hi. I am Zealous Ideal Long. The original poster of the theory. The other couples do have symbolism. Stella means the ''sun'' and Brandon means ''hill''. So Stella is the sun that rises from the hill. Flora means ''flowers'' and Helia is derived from ''sun'', and flowers need sunlight to bloom. Where did Iginio Straffi said Bloom was always suppose to be the fairy of fire. The fairy of the wind thing seems to be very early idea that made into the last finalized details, so he might not even think it's important to mention. Bloom's red hair means more than just fire. The color red also means ''heroism, courage, leadership'' which are Bloom's traits. Also most main characters in magical girl shows have red hair. It's a common trope. It only become associated with fire later on, but it doesn't have to be. I do like your take on the theory, though. Also about the Brandon thing, some have speculated Sky was originally supposed to be called ''Brandon'' in early versions of the show. Also at one point Bloom was supposed to have turqiouse colored Magic Winx design, and turqiouse color means ''wind, tornado's'' in color psychology.

I do like that the blue she wears contrast her red fire magic and her overall fire power but like Wind I kinda feel like it is a miss opportunity but then again who knows maybe they want the dragon fire magic but at the same time they used an Asian dragon for her which are wind and water element able to create rains and thunderstorms so its all over the place I guess but in the end of the day they wanted to cater to the western market and dragons are depicted as fire elements so to not confuse them??? interesting! i remember seeing that reddit theory about bloom possibly originally being fairy of the wind i have a mattel tecna from that same line as the bloom you mentioned NIB (yes she's still in the box and has been for 20 years and my dad didn't let me open her when i got her - she's my only mattel winx doll atm) and they do list a different name for tecna's place of origin (in the DVD she comes with it's also listed differently from how it is on the box!) but they get her power source right (i think they do similar stuff for all of them but im not sure), so i think for the most part they were just having fun with it.
