If you add 88 straight series without being swept solidifies the consistency of this team! Best in baseball!
This is somewas means the most bc it means that there are no losing streaks
@@I_AM_HYDRAA No they had a four game losing streak I believe last week. They won the first game of a three game series and the last game of a three game series. On the west coast trip.
@robertmason7553 if the worst "losing" streak you have in a 162 season is 4 games...
Point stands Os have not been swept in 88 series dating back to #35 getting the call up. Coincidence?
@@SeanNotSeen511 No I absolutely agree. They have been rolling for a season or more. Im not arguing but I think we had a three or four game losing streak just last week. We didnt get swept but lost a few in a row. I love my O's period. I used to watch them on channel 20 and WMAR channel 2 in MD. No longer around (i think) but Ken Singleton, Eddie Murray, Al Bumbry, John Lowenstein is who I grew up with and im only 53. KiKi Vandeweghe.
All these stats are cool and all but it won't mean much if they end up laying a goose egg In the playoffs
With 40+ come from behind wins : I'd say " they have a very dangerous and explosive line up." One of the best in all of baseball.
waited all game friday, seeing people leave early was sad
It was amazing to finish the Ravens game and then switch over to the O's and see the last couple innings. PS.....Mike Elias did partake in the celebration. He did a beer bong in the clubhouse
Lost in the conversation (unless you follow the Orioles all season) is not what Adley, Gunner etc etc are doing. Its players like O'Hearn(cast off by the Royals) lights out, Hicks(cast off by the Yankees, extra schadenfreude) being clutch, Webb(cast off by the Angels) almost automatic zeroes in middle relief. Players other teams dont want come to B'more and be more
Add in Danny Couloumbe who was also a "Cash considerations" deal literally the day before OD, and has an ERA a little over 2. Even crazier about O'Hearn is that he was DFA'ed by the O's after ST, and decided to stay with the organization instead of become a free agent, stayed patient, and look at him now.
Let's not forget that Yennier Cano was a "throw-in" (so essentially another "cast off") for Jorge Lopez to the Twins (Cade Povich was the main prospect in that deal), and he's been probably the most dominant setup guy in all of baseball. Plus now the Orioles have both he and Lopez again, lol.
Agreed to both. I was just going off the top of my head there haha. Also we got Bradish for Bundy so the list goes on
Kind of the way that it used to be for the Yankees and the late 90s and early 2000s. players who people wrote off would just come to New York and automatically be good
The Orioles don't have a lot of power, but I've never seen more of a complete team. They never give in and each member of the team contributes.
Not a lot of power? Are you kidding me? Adley, Gunnar, Santander, and Mountcastle should all hot over 20 ( 2 already have, Rutschman needs just 1 more and Mountcastle needs 2- and he missed chunks of time twice this year). Henderson and very likely could end up with 30 home runs. Mullins would easily Have 20 HR if not for injury. O'hearn what are easily have 20 had he not joined the Orioles after the season was already two months old and if you count those first two months in the minor leagues is a couple of homers shy of 30). Hays would have closer to 20 if not for injury. KJersted has power for days ( over 20 in the minors, plus 12 between spring training and AFL) and he just got called up six days ago and homered in his first start. Westburg had over 20 the first 4 months in triple A before being called up ( and has four with the O's since, despite basically platooning with Adam Frazier- who himself has a double-digit career-high in home runs this year).….. and even the backup catcher, McCann has some pop, as well as the fourth outfielder ( Hicks) so what in the literal heck do you even mean. Do research dude. I'm not trying to be offensive because I know you kind of took up for the Orioles, but that is a baseless comment with all due respect.
Look how dangerous they were tonight against the Astros!!! O'Hearn 5 for 5, mullins 3 run shot in the 9th!!!! LET'S GO O'S 💪💪💪💪
G-Rod is going to be lights out in the Postseason! Bautista threw 20-25 warmup pitches over the weekend so that's promising too!
Yea him throwing anything at this time is good tbh
What is left off is, Ryan McKenna, has quitely had a pretty decent season, despite being bounced up an down. Last i checked he was hitting round .260 with 4 HR's including a game winner in extra's that I was at the game for. Also a Ramon Urias, who has a similar stat line, or a Frazier putting up some clutch hits. It's not one guy carrying the team, it's the whole line up.
Was nice to see him redeem himself after that 2nd game of the season
@@matthewgongon4514 which was unusual, as he has always been a plus defender. I took a look his season avg has steadily in gone up past three seasons. was like a .178, to .223(ish) in 2022, to .260(ish). With this speed, and if he can keep that avg up, even if just round .245, makes a great bench roster addition.
I lived in Baltimore for a year and I would love to see the Orioles go all the way. I remember going to the old stadium and Rick Dempsey dancing on top of the dugout. I am a Padres fan now, but they are out of it so I would love to see Baltimore or The Mariners go all the way.
If Brandon Hyde doesn't win Manager of the Year, I am going to flip out. It is him and there are a total of 0 other candidates for the award
This is a prime example of how baseball talk tv is absolutely useless
Nats fan here, so excited to see the orioles in the playoffs finally getting the success they deserve. Though the nats aren't in the playoffs and its not 2019 again :( the Os are a great fanbase. Theyll probably do what the yanks can never do and beat the astros then the braves!!
Get your Maryland blue crab!
The orioles being the second best team in the mlb is insane
Os have top to bottom best lineup in baseball offense and defensive wise
Team is great now, and will only get BETTER.
Next year you get a full year of Westburg Kjerstad, and Jackson Holliday. John Means will be healthy, and Tyler Wells who was their best pitcher in the first half, before his arm gassed out, will be fully stretched out and ready to go. IF this team can pull off a trade for an elite top pitcher, which they can absolutely do if they throw out a package of Coby Mayo (21) Samuel Basallo (19) Colton Cowser and Cade Povich, this team will be unstoppable.
This
I wouldn't want to get rid of Basallo or Mayo. I think they are looking for him to be the backup catcher in a year when James McCann contract is up. And I would hang onto Mayo just in case they can't re-sign mountcastle in a couple years. Connor norby is the one that I would let go in a trade along with definitely cowser and povich. And there are other strong options on the farm to put in that deal besides Bassallo. Maybe a Max Wagner\Jud Fabean type or Joey Ortiz, throw in Mateo or Urias. And that gets it done .
If the O’s had a real Ace they could even win the WS. They’re still at least 2-3 years away I’d say
I’m a dodger fan and I think they’re one of the 3 best teams in baseball this year
Where did MLB network find these guys? Couldn’t make the major leagues in sports casting, ended up here.
"They're a team that could win the whole thing", but "theyre not 1 of the 5 teams that can beat the braves". DeRo said just like 3 videos ago lol
Yea I mostly watch this garbage channel when they post Os commentary to see the trash they talk about the Os.
Funny: Braves 1st win was a bomber in the 8th inning and won the Second game in the 9 by a crazy play , So the O's pissed two games away, but could have swept Atlanta instead of losing 2 and series. Atlanta has luck on their side!
the braves aren’t invincible. any team could beat them if they get caught in a slump. the marlins just swept them
Without Felix Bautista I don't see us beating Atlanta. With Felix there was a chance for that
@@JBaseball777 Have you been even watching this team? You can bet your ass the Braves are! And they don't want to see O's anywhere in Post. Braves 96 wins- O's 94 wins.
Never count us out
I love these
Ex-Orioles prospect Darrell Hernaiz said from A-AAA,up and down the farm system the Orioles are loaded!!!
The bullpen, especially Fujinami (WILD THING) , will be the Oriole's demise in the playoffs.. I sure hope I am wrong..
Is Mounty hurt again? Did he play at all vs the Rays?
Hurt his shoulder fouling off a pitch in the last game against STL. They said the scans didn't show any damage and they are not considering putting him on the IL.
This is what happens when a team sucks for 40 years. All those high draft picks finally paid off.
The 2 top draft picks that are on the roster? Rutschman and Kjerstad (who literally just got called up 4 days ago) are the only top 5 picks on the 26 man roster. If you expand that to top 15 picks, then it goes up by a whopping 1 player (Grayson Rodriguez, 11th overall). FYI, Gunnar Henderson is a 2nd round pick. Also, I would recommend that you look at the AL standings from 2012-16. You might see something interesting.
They only sucked for 5 years.. 2012-2016 the Orioles had the most wins on baseball over that time more than any other team
You must be either a clown, a troll, or a fan of some other AL East team either too stupid or too young to remember that the Orioles had the best record in baseball for a five-year period between 2012 and 2016, as well as a pretty dominant stretch between 1994 and 1998.. and they were pretty good in 1989 as well.
Jorge Lopez should have cost O's game 4 vs Rays
yeah but it didn’t, because these Orioles don’t quit!
If the O's didn't take Adley and pick Bobby. They would have never picked Gunnar
Who is Bobby?
@@joshuablevins4340 Bobby Witt
We all know Yankees would wreck them in a 5 game set. No doubt about it.
💀💀
Are u serious or just cracked out
The orioles are 7-6 against the Yankees this year, with the orioles having a +10 run differential across the season
Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak and to remove all doubt!
This show's graphics department either has way too much money or way too little money
Dude it’s yennier cano, not yainer cano 😭😭😭☠️☠️☠️☠️
NOT any more it looks like
The Orioles will be great for the next couple of years. The rest of the league is gladly waiting until the players become free agents and the Orioles let them fly.
*annoying
Fixed your tagline. Batters with no books on them aren’t dangerous they are pesky.
Stopped in just to say go rays! the true AL east leaders
Bwaaaaaaa!! LMBO
Not today
So true! They're going to win another world series 😂
The true American League leaders on what planet? Pretty sure the Orioles have a three-game lead and are nine and five against them this season as well as a winning record against every team in the American League East. Either you are joking or you are a joke
@@joshuablevins4340 That's why I was Laughing!!
They good but they are overachieving to tell the truth
Whitest team in baseball....
Cedric Mullins, Aaron Hicks, Anthony Santander, Ramon Urias, Felix Bautista, Jorge Lopez, Yannier Cano, Danny Coulombe, Jorge Mateo, Joey Ortiz, Dean Kreamer ( literally Jewish), Cionel Perez, Grayson Rodriguez, And Shantaro Fujinami would probably have something to say about that and may take exception to that remark... Just goes to show you casual national fans don't know the O's.... But You All Will!
Only problem with the Orioles is what happen to Houston not being able to pay all those guys
@markjohnson7488 They have guys who will be 250-300 million dollar guys the O's let Machado go and he was by far the best player they had in 3 decades
Do you not know who cal Ripken is he has the most unbreakable record in all of sports playing all 82 games in 16 seasons straight@@Jayoplantern
@@jordanmccann1082 What year did Cal Ripken retire?
@@jordanmccann1082 The man retired in 2001 like I said
If he was smart he’d go the braves route and lock the youngins up asap and buy out their arbitration years
Dangerous as a tube dress.
